Is your Android market incomplete? - Captivate General

If you open your Android market and choose Games, how many categories do you have?
I only have five: All games, Arcade & Action, Brain & Puzzle, Cards & Casino and Casual.
Where is the other ones? Or it's just these five? I read about EA sports on Android. Where are they? I can't find them.
Is it AT&T? Or it's Android?

Most likely if you can't find something and you know it's truly there, it's AT&T censoring the market for their phones.

Android Marketplace Search is TERRIBLE

You know, for a company who revolutionized search on the internet, Google put hardly any effort into making the Marketplace truly usable. Did they assign that project to some part-time clerical wonks or what?
Here's an example:
I am looking for a free Texas Hold 'Em Poker game and I expect I will be installing and uninstalling a fair number of programs, so I want my search to be fairly specific. So I drill down to the Android>Games>Cards and Casino section and search for "poker."
Results: 548 apps (the app searched in the entire Marketplace instead of just Cards and Casino games.) The first page (20 items) contains some candidates, but also contains 2 bingo games, 2 slot games and a roulette app. so 1/4 of the results are worthless and then 3 of what's left cost money. What's worse, the pages following are chock-full of Lady Gaga wallpapers, lots more non-poker card games and more that aren't even card games.
Changing the search string to "texas poker" cuts it down to under 100, but still way too many to mess with.
Now, every one of these apps is categorized in a number of ways - category, sub-category, price, rating, popularity and probably a good bit more. But almost none of that is usable in the Marketplace app on the tab.
The PC version is a little better in that you can filter the results by several of these things and that cuts the "poker" search results down to about 300 but the app we run on the tab should be as functional as this. On the PC, using every filter available, I can get it down to 50 apps or so and that is borderline acceptable to me - but it shouldn't be that hard and I cannot do this WITHIN the app at all.
Anybody else hate this necessary evil?
From google io they are going to attack the market interface and sections. Might make searching easier.
The web based version is much better imo.

I can't find any reference to King Poker. Would it be Poker King?
If that is the one you are talking about, It is almost completely unplayable for me.
The cards are so tiny they are almost unreadable and for two hands my cards weren't even shown.
Uninstalled.

Any game even remotely similar to Binding of Isaac?

Yeah, I know you can extract the .swf file and run it on the phone, but it runs awful. Also I know there's gonna be the Rebirth edition on android, maybe.
Thing is, I'm addicted to this game and I wanna find anything (emulation, probably) similar to it. I did tons of research and the best candidates are cardinal quest (android native roguelike, partially optimized on the Play, fun and simplistic but there's not much action) and "dicing knight" on the wonderswan color (LOL) which I don't even know if can be emulated. Every roguelike is basically too static, and every action rpg/dungeon crawler with realtime, skill-intensive combat either has not permadeath, or hasn't got random generated levels, or both.
I know there isn't a game really like Isaac. I'm just searching for something remotely similar, maybe just addicting, challenging, suited for long runs and small bites. You know, on a phone you'll want that.
Try Deadly Dungeons RPG. I love the game and while it doesn't look a thing like Binding of Isaac it is a rouge-like with random level and item generation and a perma-death mode. It is not Xperia Play optimized but works very well with touchscreen imo.

I came across that one too; I could play it with gamekeyboard if only it was playable in landscape.
Can it? It didn't seem to me, but then again I didn't buy it :x
Just play the original Legend of Zelda with an NES emulator. That's the closest you'll get, without running the .swf on your phone.
well... fact is, it's not randomized, hasn't got permadeath, and you gotta actually go into the dungeons. I mean, it's a completely different game (that I played, anyway)
Hey, to the best of my knowledge Deadly Dungeons cannot be run in Landscape but trust me, it's one of the few games worth using touch screen for. Too bad there isn't a demo but I enjoyed it far more than similar first person rogue-likes such as Grimrock.
i was playing a lot "legends of yore" when it was in its early stages.i think its complete now, give it a try
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk 2
I tried that, it's great but it's kind of towards the "deep rpg" side of things. Dungeons are actually randomly generated each time you enter, but you can save and load files, level up the character and stuff like that. I also find that game more suitable to the touchscreen, as it's not completely optimized AFAIK. I think I'll stick to cardinal quest for now, which basically works like legends of yore but it's simpler and roguelike. :\
Waiting for Isaac Rebirth to come and save me
Killer Cavern!
Try Killer Cavern, still in development but hopefully already fun! Can't post the link here but just search the Google Play Store for 'Killer Cavern'. Thanks!
Lostx Dungeon, a bit like
Lostx Dungeon, a mobie game on google play, Action game combines the elements of Dungeon Crawling, Rough-like, Shooter, Adventure, a bit like the binding of isaac , enter the gungeon

[FREE GAME][2.3+] Micromakers: Cookie Factory from Pygmy Banana

My name is Jani Vaarala and I am the co-founder of game startup Pygmy Banana Publishing.
During the last 9 months we have been pushing hard to get our first game ready for mobile
devices (tablets and phones on iOS and Android). Our first creation is called:
"Micromakers: Cookie Factory"
We are pretty sure that you haven't played this kind of game before. At least we are not
aware of anything like it. This is actually the driving force in our company too. We want to create
original game designs instead of rebranding old game themes.
I am not allowed to post links here, so if you are interested, search for the game title in Google Play and check out
the game play videos from our company (Pygmy Banana) web site.
I hope you enjoy the game,
Jani
