hey guys! i'm quite lost and would truly appreciate some help.....
i cannot take video after i've flashed the 2.2 onto my nexus one. (flashed to modaco custom ROM r21 for the google nexus one (FRF91)) i read that in their was a newer flash for the camera radio to repair this.....
is there a way to flash the 720p video taking ability onto the nexus one with a different provider than modaco?
can someone recommend a stable option for me???
thanks so much, and i apologise for my noobness! i am learning at a fair pace, lol!

Hey there folks!
this is my fisrt post on the forum so here goes.
I've got my first android phone a couple of weeks ago and since then I did the S-OFF and rooted it. I read the boards here, i maneged to get new roms on it without any problems and I am very happy with the performance of the phone now.
The only thing is that I can not get 3G data connectivity only EDGE.
I live in a place that always has 3G and it seems a little odd.
If anyone has encoutered this problem please let me know if and how to resolve it.
Thanks.
Phone: HTC Desire S S-OFF
Radio: 20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M
Kernel: 2.6.35.13-Tiamat_Saga-v1.0.4+
ROM: CyanogenMod-7.1.0-RC1-IncS
Have you tried with another ROM? ZuluGen or the inofficial nighthly? These are not ports from Inc S, but made directly from Cyanogen source.
I think it's worth to give it a try... Just don't forget to do a NAND backup before flashing a new ROM! (This can directly be done in ROM Manager when choosing the ROM to flash. )
I assume you know how to use Titanium Backup to port all your settings and apps to the new ROM. If not, no worries... it's fairly simple and actually self-explanatory!
If help is needed, feel free to ask here!

Epic fail.
hey guys i got a htc magic for a friend and i need to know what the best and fastest fully functional rom is for the htc magic. im currently running 2.2.1 but i personally think it is quite slow and the 45-50 second boot time is a bit bad.
thank you.
stephen
and do you think that it is worth rooting it and putting a custom rom on there? can anyone reccomend the best custom rom?
thanks
Hello XDA,
I have bought a new android device for myself today, the Sharp FX Plus (Model: ADS1) and I've been browsing on the site to find some compatible roms; But no luck. I've used the forums before to successfully root and put a rom on my ASUS tablet with no issues, but this one is a mystery. Is there a thread with what roms are compatible with my phone or has nobody ever really looked into this phone? I've tried to google it with no luck, either. The phone is already rooted, I got that far, I just can't find any roms that are 'confirmed' compatible with it.
Thanks to whoever replies!
P.S. I'm slightly new to the whole custom rom thing - but I do somewhat understand the basics.
metoo!
I too have a sharp fx plus ads1. I have my phone rooted but am having no luck finding a custom rom. I understand it is kind of an entry level android and maybe out of date but it has all the capabilites I need. I also know enough to root my phone and install a rom but not good enough to actually create my own custom rom. Is there anyone that has the time and enjoys doing so that would help out with a custom rom for these phones? I found a page that mentioned updated to 3.2 with a new rom but there was no link for the rom so I'm thinkning it was a fake. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

EDIT: I posted in Misc Android Development section here, trying to put the information in a centralized area for any potential development on this device.
Recompiled the CM7 Kernel as a test using the device's config.gz, working on getting the CM7 source to go (its being tricky lol). I have a test CyanogenMod 6.1.2 ported from a Z71 that runs, as well as a modded stock 2.2.2 ROM. A "dirty-port" test of a Z71 CM7 rom boots with some mods (no radio, networking, etc..) - so there may be some hope for this lil thing!
Hope that helps
Dear Experienced Users,
I have rooted my Samsung S Relay 4G SGH-T699 (previously unlocked and can use any sim) - I used CWM recovery, etc.
I love this phone.
The only problem is I want to get rid of all the T-Mobile branding crap, especially the Wifi Tethering Problem.
My experience: I use ODIN to flash, I also use ADB and SU. I also love experimenting
Is there some modified stock rom which has a tethering fix? The splash screens I can get rid of using other means.
I would really value some advice - I know you guys are all geniuses!!!
Best regards,

There are threads with debloated Stock images. There's also some custom image alternatives (Such as CyanogenMod 10.2, and new betas of CyanogenMod 11.0) Just have a look through the forums here, they're not hard to find.
Thanks

Please, Please - could you point me in the right direction? I find Cyanogen a bit alien... I'd prefer a debloated thing.
I really need help. I will even pay
Hey guys, so I got a brand new HTC M8 and Ive been reading all of the rooting guides and such and had a few questions. After doing a search I'm not really seeing many suggestions. So after I S-off, install custom recovery, do a backup of my stock rom, and then put a permanent root on my phone, what ROM do you guys recommend to be the best? Someone out there that has tried most of them? I love to tweak so thought Id get your guys opinions. Also, do most of you use keep the stock kernel or use a custom kernel, if so which kernel do you like? Thanks guys!!!!

I've tried Almost all. For my daily driver I use cleanrom 1.3 on stock kernel atm. I don't mess much with kernels but have just browsed thru a few threads and found some kernels that do not have "official" release. Look into them as they have gotten nice reviews. Sky fall is nice for stock as well. D.h. and his GPE ROM is pretty on point with that straight google experience. I have not tried sinless yet but that has good rants for being a GPE ROM. As far as aosp they are hit or miss for my device. Play with those for your own experience. I prefer the stock sense and great battery life so since I have been following @scrosler from my past few phones and know what to expect I am partial to his creations. Good luck. Don't forget to NANDROID And thank your devs .
