After installing WM6 "the real thing" i notice that i have an application called streaming media. What does this do?
what it sounds like - streams media from your pc/the internet to your ppc via gprs or wifi
go to this page, i use it on my 8125 and the movies play very good even with a slow connection and it opens up in the streaming media player.

How do I get this to work?
Copy the url and paste it into the streaming media url bar.
go to the site on your wizard.... its a mobile site. From there if you have streaming media installed you can view various different TV feeds. From the couple links I tried most of the shows are older classics. Still cool though.
Thanks guys!! It still doesn't work (failed to find network) but at least I know how to do it!! I will try to figure out the rest... keep ya posted.
hi all,
i have installed real player in my ppc to view the rtsp video stream. now the link of the stream in on a web page. when i open this web page on my ppc and click on the video stream link.....it automatically opens windows media player(which does not support rtsp video stream).
i want that upon clicking the video stream real player should open and start playing the stream.
is there any solution for this problem. in case this issue has already been addressed before in this forum, can someone point me in the correct direction
TIA

1, welcome to xda-dev
2, always search the Wiki first when you have a question. Your answer is at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/inde...nt (RealAudio and RealVideo) on my Pocket PC?
hello sir.
thnx for the response.
the problem is a bit different from what i think you have perceived.
i'm able to play the streaming video (rtsp) if i put the url "rtsp://xyz" directly in the player itself.(i'm using platform4 player). so that means the network is not the problem.
when i click on the link in web page (that contains the url "rtsp://xyz")....it opens the windows media player(which is obviously unable to open rtsp stream).....
what i want is, on clicking the link, instead of opening windows media player i want it to open platform 4 player..
i hope i'm clear enough.
thanks again

hello all,
i have the htc polaris(touch cruise) and i installed the flashvideobundle and the TCPMP player for playing youtube video's because the streaming media player isn't so good..the first time i opend a video it was played by the TCPMP player but now its opening with the streaming video player...i looked in the option etc.. but i can't see a way to open the videos with the TCPMP player..
reinstalled bundle and core player and still it opens with streaming video player.
Does anyone have an idea how to do this.
thanks
In TCPMP going to Options->Settings, Select page->File associations and marking Flash video checkbox might help..
Do you actually browse the full desktop version of youtube or do you use the mobile version?
Clips from the mobile version are NOT flv (=flash) files but 3GP video files which always open in streaming media. Use the "Video Sites" shortcut in your startmenu to navigate to youtube. If you still end up at the mobile version, see at the very bottom, there should be a link saying something like "take me to the desktop version." It should work that way.

I tried both.with opera browser it always opens the mobile version could not get it to open de desktop version.with the regular internet browser i opend the desktop version and it stil uses the streaming media player.
Ok i found something..i used 3G to connect(before i connected with WIFI) and i was able to play the videos at the desktop version with the TCPMP player.using my wifi it plays with streaming media player.
But connected with 3G on the youtube mobile it stil uses the streaming media player..its a shame because mobile version is damn faster...
But still any recomendations are wellcome....

hi,
i used to have the same problem than yours it was my provider sfr that blocks streaming in daylimotion and whan i connect with wifi all works.
I have the same problem. TCMP (with flash-video-bundle) doesnt start if I click a video at http://m.youtube.com. I tried several options, but it didnt help.

Because videos on m.youtube.com are NOT FLASH VIDEO FILES, they are re-encoded to 3gp format. Every cellphone with GPRS, even the most stupid Nokia and Motorola can play 3gp files off m.youtube.com.
Go to http://www.youtube.com/?nomobile=1 with Pocket Internet Explorer, Opera doesnt work.
If it still doesnt work: uninstall the FlashBundle, softreset, reinstall the FlashBundle (be sure to use the lastest version from their homepage) and it'll work.
Again:
m.youtube.com = stupid for all cellphones, NOT the same as regular youtube, almost no movies, re-encoded to 3gp by youtube
Opera doesnt work, it doesnt support the FlashBundle plugin
I suggest to unset Opera as default browser and then use the Video Sites shortcut in your Programs menu.
Hi,
Is it possible to watch internet Streams (like Justin TV) on the Omnia?
I tried to watch the stream directly in the browser (Opera 10, Internet Explorer) , but that does not work
At the site where the video is usually, is nothing.
It would be nice if someone could answer me.
Sorry for my English
I've seen someone who has watched with his IPhone Internet streams, he said that he had a special app for that.
There should be something like this also for the Omnia
No one knows?
Are you talking about using flash within the browser to watch videos? Because that can be done on the Omnia. You can use Coreplayer to watch streams though, and TCPMP I think can also stream with right plugins.
Well.. when I open the site with my PC and click with the right mouse button on the stream stands there, that this is an Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin.
And yes, it is in the browser.
I already have a stream player on the Omnia, it's from Samsung and will open For example when I click a video on Youtube.
The only problem is that I can not identify the direct URL of the stream, so i cant enter it in the Player...
Good morning,
I would like to ask, why I cannot choose to play a streaming video (like youtube videos) with mx-player and I can only play the stream with the browser built-in player. I use opera browser, but I have already tested a lot of different browsers without seeing any difference; the browsers don't give me the option to use another player, they don't see mx-player as an appropriate app.
Also I tried, to copy and past the videos URL into Network Stream box, but it doesn't work anyway.
Thank You for the support.
I use tubemate to watch youtube videos with less res.
Instead of downloading you can select watch it and select any player you want.

I still would like to figure out if there is a way to stream/play youtube video's automatically to my MX player...
The reason I want to find out, is that youtube is fast becoming the new music player of today... just type in a search for a band/artist (ie. "michael jackson") or general selection like (ie: "salsa music") and you'll be listening for hours to your favorite music.
But using the youtube app or the native browser is not satisfactory, because they will both stop playing/streaming once you lock the screen of your phone.
So if I want to listen to my favorite music while running, I can not use these sources.
MX player has the ability to keep streaming/playing music while the screen is locked...
And that is why I'm looking for a way to stream from youtube to this player.
Help!?!
