I take no credit whatsoever for this mod. It doesnt get any easier than this. Just copy your /system/framework/framework-res.apk to your sdcard then transfer to computer to use with this tool
http://circle.glx.nl/index.php
If you want to make your own custom battery icons you need to select version Z!!!!!!
It can take up to 3 minutes for your modified framework zip to be posted
After its done, place on sdcard and flash from recovery
*WARNING: if you have a custom theme this may cause boot loops which can only be fixed with a nandroid. Flashing stock wont fix this.
**CREDITS: Fightspit (for makeing this mod), Qliratu (for making the tool to simplify the process), And Mendozinas (for the custom edition)
attachments below are for CM6.0.1

i take no credit for this whatsoever. Just trying to pass it along. Simply flash this zip from recovery as usual. This is the basic circle battery mod with the blue for the higher percentage. Tested confirmed working for CM6.0.1. This will not change anything else except for the battery image.

That's what nandroids are for, assuming you made one before you flashed.
Who wants to make a RED one?
figured it out
I found a stock battery file on another link..
Does allow for having the percentage displayed? I currently have that and like it
You'll need to disable the battery percentage, but it is included in the images so you'll still have it.

This update is great however it changes the transparency/color for the background when I slide to unlock my phone (so the unlock text ia not viable) and the number buttons used for entering a pin number to unlock my phone.

i have no idea why this would have happened. I took the stock cm6.0.1 framework-res.apk and only changed the necessary pngs and xmls for the battery. If you have a custom theme then its possible that would have been undone.

Thanks a bunch! I checked out the thread and I have no clue what "making your own framework" is, so I guess I'm sticking with the ones compiled already for now.
Also I downloaded the the with black letters, however there is only an outline of black with white in the middle, is there any way to make the letters all black?
Thanks

Hi all, all credits go to xordis for the instructions, cyanogen and Amon_RA for their discussion/findings/contributions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547896
I just created a separate thread as I realised that the file posted by xordis could be used on various other ROMs (probably except HTC-based ones) to get a flashing trackball on an incoming call. Here are the exact instructions by xordis:
xordis said:
Here is the fix for the trackball flashing.
Grab this file
http://members.iinet.net.au/~xordis/files/lights.msm7k.so
adb remount
adb push lights.msm7k.so /system/lib/hw/
adb shell reboot
Worked for me. would like to know if it works for others.
Cyanogen will hopefully include this in the next release if it works.
Click to collapse
Also, according to Amon_RA there should be 2 versions of lights.msm7k.so as of now, one for 32A (MD5: FBFC8129630F7C517C7999521B015C20), and one for 32B (MD5: E94DDAD629894B0CB01138A58B2CC031). The one posted by xordis has a MD5 value of E94DDAD629894B0CB01138A58B2CC031, but I have tested it on Amon_RA's ROM and it works.
On the other hand, I have also tried pushing lights.msm7k.so from a 32A ROM (MD5: FBFC8129630F7C517C7999521B015C20), and it does not work. My guess is that it is specially compiled for the HTC framework.
Hope it helps some of you. Once again, all credits go to the respective people! Thanks for all the hard work!
Thanks to all who worked on this, this works great

I was wondering that earlier. I don't think anyone has tackled it.
I know some devices have the ability to show all colors, but by default they just don't.. so it depends if that trackball led can do it, then its just a matter of someone cracking it open and seeing if they can or not.. but i have no idea.
What does this do?
My Trackball already flashes, when receaving a SMS or phonecall?
does this change the pattern of flashing?

It's for the people who flashed their MT3G with custom rom that does not support trackball blinking. Mine worked after pushing this thanks

You got to set up the android SDK first (search in xda for it), then make use of adb. Follow the instructions on the first page to continue .
hi all... how do I fastboot this? Is it replacing adb for fastboot? I'd setup and have working the fastboot method instead the adb... Than ks for your help...
Just connect your phone in normal mode and run the adb commands..
Does this enable persistent flashing while there are new notifications, like the flashing ring on the Touch Diamond for example?
I don't find a single flash useful in any way unless I sit and watch for the moment a new message arrives!
MikLSP: It flashes when there's a new email. However, it does not flash when there's a missed call or new sms for me . No idea why..
it worked ...... but there a slight problem..... if a call is misssed. previously ( before rooting ) the track ball used to blink again and again....but after falshing and uploading that trackball falshing update ...... its just blinking for one time....and then its not blinking.....! any ideas......?

I really want this splash screen but also dont feel like turning m,y phone into a paperweight. can we use the custom splash screens?
You can do it, but I wouldn't use the insturctions he has there. I have another thread somewhere that has path names that you could push that file to. Then you can edit the boot.xml file and add the new file name. Its not very difficult and it probably won't brick you. I did however mess mine up and had to RUU when I was messing around with it. Still not sure what happened there.

Hey guys,
I've coded a tiny app to reboot your Optimus 2x or G2x into recovery mode without holding any buttons. Best thing is... it's free ;-) It doesn't install Clockworkmod, so if you want an app for that, check out Paul's paid app for that (Which does it on the O2x only)
I'd be really happy if you'd tap the ad displayed in the application, but you don't need to.
Yes, the app is ugly, fugly, disturbing, etc. but hey, it works :-D
It's to be found in the Android Market here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.m...sma.lgo2xreboot, on AndroidPIT.com http://www.androidpit.com/en/android/marke...recovery-reboot and in the attachment of course!
Update: Implented a check if the app is runnning on an LG Optimus 2x or G2x.
Update #2: Made the app less fugly, thanks to fitsnugly.
Update #3: SU660 compatibility
I also attached the source code, if you're interested.
APK: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=575213&stc=1&d=1303472096
Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=575214&stc=1&d=1303472096
I think you need to update the description coz right now it includes the message below.
!!! WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS ON YOUR T-MOBILE G2x !!!
You can ignore the warning about the G2x, the guy I asked to upload the app to his Market account needs to remove that warning

Nice job dude
Works great with respect to its purpose. I had trouble with manually going into recovery. After opening it (no problem), if I let the keys go - it turned off - period.
I had to keep holding the power button and take one action with either power up or down button, and then I can let go. With this app - go straight to recovery.
Sorry - did not see an add to click on - maybe because I have ad blocker - lol.

this app only works if using the nvflash CWM.
If you only have CWM by flashing it through RM, this app will boot you into 3e recovery, where you can only go up and down, power will not select anything, thus having to battery pull.

Recently I started using SoftKeyZ and i changed all my navigation bar's button and accidentally didn't keep a backup of the stock ones (I really regret it).
Anyways, most of the buttons look good but the back button is bigger than the others making it quite disturbing. The thing is that I've got fed up and I really need someone's help/suggestions.
Current version 15.3.A.0.26
Rooted without Unlocking the Bootloader
Also changed density from 240 to 180(that doesn't seem to be the problem)
Lastly, I would greatly appreciated a suggestion that doesn't need a pc as this period i do lack of it.
Thanks in advance

My question is what deodexing my firmware means and what CWM mean as well . I also have a locked bootloader. will I need to unlock it for this process? And lastly is it Time consuming? As i get limited amount of time on a pc Because of school mainly. Thanks again
