Never used app installer myself, you're not supposed to install apps from your SD card. All apps should be installed from the android market. Google put this measure in place to avoid piracy.

Thanks. Got it running on my stock locked n1. A word of warning: this rom is so new that google have not yet added it to white list for protected apps. The epe76 rom I had before was only recently whitelisted.
This rom contains the most recent facebook 1.2.
P.s. why have mods moved this thread out of the more reasonable and more popular section? All previous google signed roms that leaked were always posted in the normal development section.
This probably is a UK ROM, but it isn't the shipping ROM for Voda Nexii. Just sayin.
The shipping Vodafone software is EPF21B, this is EPF30. Don't know whats new, just it's something different

I need com.android.vending.apk (aka Android Market ver 1.713) that was pushed to Android handsets about a month ago. I disabled updating on my phone so I can't get it.
Can anyone who updated to this version pull it from their phone and PM me? It shoud be located in /data/app/com.android.vending.apk

It wasn't in /data/app, but /system/app/Vending.apk, but here it is, Google Market v1.713 yoink'd from HTC Clay's SuperBad v1.4.
Use of android marketplace on miphone
evening all,
stupid question but would it be possible to modify and use this apk on another type of android based phone in order to gain access to the android marketplace?
see ive got this android 1.5 based myphone thing thats actually reasonable for what i paid for it, but it came without access to the android marketplace.

I could be wrong, but as far as I'm aware, yes, you should be able to install that .apk file and get access to the Android Market on your phone.

Oh, OK thanks a lot. I guess the cooker of SuperBad 1.4 manually put the newest version of Market to /system/app/Vending.apk
@resonant I think that you can't use this particular file, because this is the market app for Android 2.1, not 1.5.

I like it, she works perfectly............. but i try to install :
CTDroiD_Tweaks_Patch_1.8.x_v2.zip by the recovery, the install works but when i reboot nothing happen, my phone didn't boot what is the problem? do i miss someting? or the patch is not up to date?
And another question, before i have the same Rom but the 1.8, in application we have one who gave me information, a counter of my consomation of data...sms...minute of communication.... and i didn't find them... where is she or what is the name of this app to re install it?

I like it all in all, but in Chinese devices/Android it's not possible to use many apps, especially Google Play, which has way more and better apps than the local AnZhi (which is not bad itself).

I'm in the same situation. No Google apps on the phone and tried to install Google Play Store manually and although it would install it wouldn't run. I figure it must have something to do with Google and China not getting along too well - perhaps some pernicious China Mobile software preventing the installation of anything that would make the phone useful?
Has anyone had any luck?
To root this device, first you need unlock the bootloader, then you can use the tool from here.
To install Google Play and other Google services, you can do it by copy the APKs to system/app then modify permissions, owner and group.

I can't download the zip file from the link you provided. There seems to be a problem with the file and it says "the zip file is corrupted" whenever I try to open it. Can you help? I want to use this for my HTC T528 phone.. please help. Thanks!!

First you need to unlock the bootloader following instructions from the Htcdev.com website.
Goto htcdev.com and click unlock bootloader -> Get started.
Select Htc One as your device and proceed, you will be asked to login or create an account in case you don't have one.
You need to acknowledge that you have accepted the terms and conditions first.
The instructions on how to unlock the bootloader are then shown to you, follow that step by step guide and you will have an unlocked bootloader at the end.
You may need to flash a recovery on to your device, don't remember if this was quite necessary but for my case I flashed the recovery i have attached here with fastboot.
You need to download GAPPS For ICS 4.0.4(haven't attached any link for this but please look around) you will get a zip file which you will copy to your phone's SD card.
Reboot into recovery and choose update zip from SD card, browse for it and apply the update!
Note: Not really sure whether its necessary to update the ROM but I did it for my case because I was basically trying many things out.
