Nexus One Circle Battery Works!! Needs Refinement - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

I found a circle battery mod developed for the Nexus One that actually works and looks great on our Hero. The only problem is that once it's flashed the triangle roaming indicator comes up in status bar and in on the lock screen. However, the percent in the middle works perfectly and the battery animation is awesome.
Does anyone know if how they can port this to our phone? Or does anyone know how I can disable the roaming indicator message? I'm sure there's a way to go in through adb but haven't been able to figure out what the code might be.
Here is the circle battery mod for Nexus that I'm talking about and using.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754873
Now the battery mod that I know works but needs some refinement is found in the downloads section of the thread above and it's the one called
8/29--CM6-SuperCircleC-plus--no other theming done.
Edit: I know that Gomorrah has a circle battery mod with theme for Cyanogen but I am looking for other options as I tried his and wound up with a whole theme rather than just a circle battery.

The ones used in most themes are from that thread The system will scale them down automatically. They just don't look the best kind of smashed..

::::Update:::: 09-03-10
Ok I packaged it up and signed the zip flash like normal enjoy!
Only tested on ZenHerofx 2.2rc1
Nanroid!!
Use at you own risk
I did not create this nor do I take create for it
:::::EDIT:::::
This attachment is for 2.1 sense! Check my last post for CM6!
I fixed the issue with the missing .png files
The battery now circles all the way around when charging.

Just flashed it, works fine for me so far though I did notice, the charging doesn't actually circle all the way back to the 12 o'clock point... It just runs until the point of charge at the time the charger was plugged in... could be the intent though...

Lol I noticed that too. I will see if I can fix it. Or if anyone wants to take a crack at it go for it. I am learning still.
EDIT:
I move the nexus battery mod images into the super circle mod res folder. The super circle only has 20 images for recharge vs the nexus battery mod has 32 images. If someone could change that and assign those images it will display properly. I have no clue how to edit I would assume a xml file to include these new images.

Thanks for signing and posting the zip rejectedkid! Unfortunately it wouldn't flash on cyanogen for me. For some reason the original did work but I had to flash it with clockwork since it wasn't signed. Lol strange.
cyanogenmod nightlies froYo

I will look at the froyo framework and import those pngs sign and upload later today.

He had a .jar file in the framework folder that i think shouldn't have been there. the only thing that should be needed is the framework-res folder. then apply that to the nightly cm6 and resign

Yes it will but with a few issues. I was a able to flash the original file made for the nexus one running cm6 onto the hero with no modifications. The problems I was having were that my phone was stuck with the roaming notification on. But the circle battery worked and looked great.
I've since stopped using it until someone who knows what they're doing can make it work correctly for cm6.

here is the hero CM6 Nexus One Battery Mod. I did not test it. I decomplied, edited and then recompiled, signed and made it flashable
Test at you own risk! Always Nanroid!!!!!
:::EDIT::: 9-4-10::::::
I played around a little more after you guys said something about a bootloop. Try the zip again and let me know if it works or not. (crosses fingers)

Works, as long as you aren't using the signal bar fix... Though you can't read the percent when it's not 100... it's distorted.

You can't push the whole desire framework-res.apk to your phone, you'll get a bunch of force closes. png's are the wrong sizes and what not. might be missing some .png's or have different names. Plus that update.zip will change one of you .jar files and that would mess up your phone. You could dive in and replace just the battery .png's.
I could do that for you... give me time tomorrow and I'll take a looksie.

That would be great. It seems like this mod would be something a lot of people would want. I wish I could just replace the custom battery icon to show the percentage instead of running the battery icon app to free some space in the notification area.

So I take it from your OP that you're using the stock 2.1 Sprint ROM, right? Just making sure because I don't know why you have a 5 after the "..." part.
Just to throw this out there, it may take awhile to do this for you. For some god-knows-what reason, my download speed is absolute **** today. I have an estimated time left of EIGHT HOURS on the Sprint ROM that I need to DL.

I will keep watch with this posting, I would def like that icon on my sense UI notification bar.
Ok, so do you want JUST the battery icon, or do you want the other icons? And do you want the percentage in it? I'm not sure how to get the percentage in there, but I'm sure I can figure that out.

What I am doing will work with Fresh, DamageControl, the Sprint roms, etc. I'm almost positive that the framework-res.apk is the same between them. I'm not sure about the services.jar modding that I'll need to do, but I can't see it being a large difference between the ROMs.
Here is just the battery icon, no percent
Ok, well I just finished putting that battery icon in. This should work in any Sprint-based ROM, which means DamageControl, Fresh, RegawMOD, w/e... as long as it's not AOSP.
So attached is the modified framework-res.apk. To install this, you'll need to push it into your phone somehow. This can be done a couple of ways:
ADB:
Code:
adb remount
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework
adb reboot
OR
Use Root Explorer, and then mount your phone in R/W mode, and then just copy and paste that file into your /system/framework folder.
Ok, this MAY give you the percent
Hey guys. So I really quickly learned how to use baksmali and smali to edit the services.jar file. I took what looked to be a line of code that added the battery percent and added that into our services.jar. I then repackaged it up. I have NOT tested this to see if it works or not (I'm running AOSP and calibrating my battery), so I highly recommend you either Nandroid or backup your services.jar file. If you would like the circular battery icon too, then flash the framework-res.apk file above as well.
The worst thing that will happen from the services.jar being messed up is force-closes.
EDIT Don't pay attention to what's above. I put all the stuff into a flashable .zip file. My signing tool is messed up, but if you have ClockWordMOD recovery, then you'll be able to flash it (ClockWordMOD can flash unsigned .zips )

This works perfectly for Fresh 2.3.3! Thanks so much for the kewl battery icon!!! Now, if only we could get the percentage in the middle of it, I'd be totally set
LoL! But... beggars can't be chooser though
In case you were wondering Mrinehart93, I flashed this zip using clockword mod recovery and the icon itself looks and works perfectly, but the % of battery remaining does not currently show up. I don't know if there's anything I need to do to make it work correctly, but since you haven't tested yet, I just thought I'd let you know. Thanks again man!

Thanks Touchpro! My current rom right now and I really like the theme color. Can this be flashed over current Nightly build that has led notfication working? Appreciates your works and Red Bull on your way.
I really like the theme for the most part but wish you could get rid of all the green and replace with the neon blue. Also while I'm making demands could you add some transparency to all of the widgets, now. Just kidding, great work and will be keeping an eye on this to see where you take it.

Sorry, I will not be updating this theme at all. You can try looking for a 3rd party app that does that.
Figured out how to add the percentage in the battery, nice add. Question though: How can Adrynalyn's Second Wave ROM with Sense use LESS battery than this one without Sense? Generally after a work day's usage with the Second Wave ROM my battery was between 80%-84% now after using this ROM it is between 60% and 65%? Just curious if it needs a different kernel or something.
I dig this theme. I'm having one issue though: every time I try to change volumes in settings, it FCs. Anyone else have this problem?
im really diggin this theme its really colorful lol. i did notice that when your getting an incoming call the slider for answering calls is a little off the screen on the left. is that normal? or is it a bug?
oh and i have adw on with the droid x theme do you think thats affecting it?
i have the same problem please fix

[Rom & Theme] Hero-X-port of the Droid X (Nonsense Rom that was for the Evo)

I am happy to present the Hero X, which is a port of the Evo Nonsense Rom (Droid-X theme) for CM6, with a few modifications.
I have also included a download for the Wallpapers. As always I'm not responsible for anything as you flash at your own risk. If your phone becomes self aware and starts looking for energon then please don't blame me.
I want to give thanks to everybody from the Cyanogenmod crew for their awesome Rom. Big thanks to tjohnsonjr for the Evo Nonsense Rom. Thanks to Magnus Ragnarok for all his help and some of his style.
Downloads:
1) [Rom] Hero-X 1.0.5-
(Disabled Rom link due to known issues. Rom is said to have wifi and facebook sync broken and some complained about busy box errors, switched to theme instead for stabilty).
Be careful that you set your google apps not to update automatically or you might overwrite your current themed apps!
2) [Theme] Hero-X Theme V2 (Added themed Mms.apk and new facebook.apk)-Flash over CM6 stable.
3) [Theme] Hero-X 2.2.1 Nightly Theme-This is based on the newest nightly 2010-10-19
4) [XML] Hero X-xml (For theme colors I use)
Edit: No need to flash gapps. gapps are installed.
5) Hero X data/apps that were in the Rom
adb wireless
always flash
Blink
Astro
Verizon Nfl app
As of now, the number being used is no longer valid. Download the version of the NFL-Unlocker that pertains to your computer below and unzip, and read the directions to change the number associated with the NFL app. You must get a valid Verizon number to use this whether it be from a display phone at a Verizon store:
NFL-Unlocker-x64
NFL-Unlocker-x86
animated weather
custom Tikl ptt
Road sms
divx player
set install location
themed Linkpush
and a few others
* Droid X boot animation is fully functional (sorry, no sound). If anyone knows how to get boot animation audio to work, let me know.
*Added pull down status bar from "Nonsense
*Added Font from the Finisher Rom.
6) Default Droid X wallpaper
7) Collection of Droid wallpapers.
8) Other Droid X LWP-lwp's do work on Cm6, but a select few, don't know if these do or not.
9) *Red themed Mms (Messaging app-icon is red.)
Edit: No need to wipe, but please do a nandroid backup before anything.
Two other cool wallpapers: Post 111
10) Video of the Hero X in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9udUkb94t_A
Nice work, Id be happy to test.

Need Testers! I'm working on a port of the Nonsense Rom (Droid-X theme), but I don't have a sprint Hero. My wife has a Hero, but I have to work on hers when i can pry it from her ear. i'm uploading four versions to try and then hopefully you can tell me what's missing, what works and what does'nt or if anything does.
Two of the versions have the boot animation in the rom and two do not and you will have to do a adb push. thisis ported to the Cm6 stable for the sprint Hero, so you will have to push it to system/media. i have also included a download for the Wallpapers and the flashable Droid X keyboards. As always I'm not responsible for anything as you flash at your own risk. If your phone becomes self aware and starts looking for energon then please don't blame me.
Uploading links now, but my internet is slow.
V1-Hero-X w/o boot animation
V2-Hero-X with boot animation
V3-Hero-X w/o boot animation
V4-Hero-X with boot animation
The reason for the 4 versions is that I tried a few different things on each one.
New Gapps
Droid X bootanimation (Unzip and push through Adb)
Default Droid X wallpaper
Other Droid X LWP-lwp's do work on Cm6, but a select few, don't know if these do or not.
Droid 2 keyboard-should work for this since this keyboard is for froyo. i've only tested it on my Evo.
I would suggest wiping no matter what, but you should be able to get away without wiping if already on Cm6, otherwise wipe. and please do a Nandroid back up before hand, so if anything does go wrong you can restore. Once I can get back to working on hers, i will post screen shots.

Not really any advantages, but someone asked me to do this for their hero for the look mostly. nothing like what you do. I see your stuff, especially the Black and gold. it's basically a theme a ported and made a Rom, but I used Cm6, because i didn't want to mess with the sense and it was the only 2.2 Rom without sense that I've seen. I didn't want to give a 2.1 Rom, but My internet just cutout while I was at 67%, so I have to re upload again. Versions will go up one after another.

[MORPH] New xml animated transitions(Working on Rod's MIUI, Enom's, CM6.1)

all credit goes to [email protected], aamikam, and MagnusRagnarok
found this thread in the Vibrant forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831485
the morph file works beautifully with MIUI and i'm sure it works on other AOSP ROMS.
Ok, someone make this work for Sense roms, since they are sorely lacking in transitions.
confirmed working on nexus
Good Post!
Nice post, I already got the files from the EVO thread and love it! The people using my theme love it too! Try it out, it's worth it!
Awesome! Working on my Sense rom as well. Although some screen transitions stay stock but the menu transitions are changed.
Here are the steps I took, in case someone wants to know:
- Download your prefered animation type. Get it from here. It is actually a zip of the anim folder.
- Extract your rom's framework-res.apk or any custom framework-res.apk you've made already (eg. UOT Circle zips)
- Replace the /res/anim/ folder with your chosen transition anim folder. Save the edited framework-res.apk
- create an update zip from the new framework-res.apk. I used this nifty program. The easiest way I did was to replace the framework-res.apk in a UOT circle update zip and resign it.
- Go into recovery and flash your update zip. You might want to wipe dalvik cache first.
- Reboot and enjoy.
Wow, thats really cool! I like it.
It works on the actual enomthers ROM.
So far my favourite is the Flip. The fold has nice menu effects but I think it's a tad too slow for me.
You can mix and match the xml files from different animation styles but I think it will look too messy with no consistency in effects.
i agree, reminds me of compbiz fusion on Linux. i'm surprised noone else posted these. glad i beat everyone to it

Confirmed working nicely on Enomther's latest. All the transitions are amazing except for the 3 page slide thing. It isn't very smooth...

agreed. im sure it will be adressed
For all users of this I would recommend downloading spare parts from the market and setting Window animations and Transition animations to fast. Makes the effects look better and smoother
Works on newest CM nightly
it's working great on my phone so far, how can i get the clicking sounds from the video though? i don't like the stock sound.
I can't get it to work on my Nexus One (CM6RC1)..it keeps getting stuck on bootanimation...

I think, this is a known problem with metamorph.
Go to recovery, reflash your rom.
You didn't loose your data and settings.
And then try it again.
Never check the button "disable startup check " in metamorph and set the applying speed to 4200.
It will work on your phone.

those are default Galaxy S/Vibrant sounds. go download a ROM from the vibrant forums, find the sound file is system/media/audio/ui, change it to Effect_Tick.ogg and move it to same folder on your phone through ADB or SU file browser

To do any GunnerMike theme justice, some pics to go with it, Thanks
Gunnermike,
What do you use for systemUI.apk to theme? It seem that several of the ROMs dont have systemUI.apk in the system/app folder on the ROMs zip? I'm curious because I'm thinking of making a theme for this rom for Father's day. But I do not own Charge(evo 4g) but my dad does. I just hope he does not read this since he is a xda member.
just a few more pics
pics to show everyone, nice job GM
Hey Gunnermike, your ports and themes look great, but I am working on one of my own and was hoping you could help me out. I've found most of the files I'm looking for so far, but I can figure out how to change the background of the notifications in the drop down status bar. I'm working on grey and black based, but I can't get that brown bar. It is where media scanning is in my attached picture. Could you let me know what that image, or images, is named so I can proceed? Thanks

not used on most tw based roms. in most roms it kinda is like our twframework-res. sorta.

systemui.apk is unique/new to gingerbread...it splits the framework-res.apk up and moves the signal/data/other icons into it for some reason
so aosp gb is systemui/framework-res
tw gb is systemui/framework/twframework-res
