Hello, I was wondering if it exists some app to use with my HD2 for weather forecast etc. wich uses GPS/Google etc. (lihe HTC weather) to use as alternative to the HTC app...I've downloaded Touch Weather wich is GREAT but it doesn't use localization....
Some advice?
Thanks and regards
Andrea
Forget weather apps with "my location" ! Once You are there You already know how the weather is by looking outa the window or singing in the rain .............
What is more important: You wanna know the weather of the place YOU GO !
So the best weather app (and there will be no better in the next 20 years ) is Dunc´s Weather-Panel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=707229
It´s a complete worldwide professional meteorological weather station in Your pocket and You can include also traffic cams !
Try it, You won´t regret it !

You're right but it's still important to know the weather for tomorrow for the location where I am now ...I've already tried DWP, thanks
-ageye G-Weather
-SBSH.net PocketWeather
-SPB Weather
-Touch Weather

You're partially wrong, my friend, neither SPB neither Touch Weather, neither SBSH have the feature of My Location/GPS.... I don't know G-Weather but I'll check it out

Yes, neither G-Weather uses localization....
You might try THIS:
http://www.gps-weather-radar.com/
Not quite what You are looking for but it comes close at least for rain-radar-moving map corresponding to Your location ................

Maybe I am not understanding your question correctly, but PocketWeather DOES use GPS positioning for your current location. I cannot speak for the other programs however. See screenshot.

Hi!
I've been using Spb Weather for a while, and I really like it, but it has one major drawback. It only has a today plugin, not a "real" application you can launch, but what I really like is the ability to make a custom weather source parser (template). Is there any other weather applications out there that can handle custom sources?
Regards,
PK

Weather panel is not free.
http://www.marsware.net/WeatherPanel/features.htm
It's $12.99 and you can buy it here.

I have installed on my XDA, iMate XDA II, ipaq 6515, Dopod 818, Dopod 818 Pro, and HTC Advantage. It's my only and essential 3rd party today plug-in.
Hi!
Can anyone give me some guidance in how to make a custom source parser for weather panel?

PK
Have someome try this new program ? It`s mor better to config like HTC Home.

I am running it on my Touch Cruise. It is indeed much more configurable and flexible. However, I am having some issue with the automatic updates of weather.
just tested and found it is great software worked fine on both 2003 and 6.0 devices. auto update for 1 hours for three cities worked, it is great if the weather update could be date/time stamped, will con report after try all features
My Problem...
my Touch Cruise freezes very often. Probably caused by the touch engine of the Hinavigator. anybody same thing?

Uninstall the nice touch component. You can use the today plug-in without it. Since uninstalling the nice touch part, the rest of Cruise has been stable.

I have been in contact with your tech support. I am having issues with the weather auto update. I have installed v 1.5.1 and still the timestamp on the weather detail popup does not show the latest weather update. I have the weather set to update every hour, however, several hours may go by and the timestamp is not updated.
I am using an HTC Touch Cruise with WM6.0.
Touch cruise also freezes when I multi-touch it.
Could have more options (search based style)

Hello, in my opinion, can improve contacts:
1) use photos of contacts
2) if I do not know the photos to show the name
3) if I have several numbers by holding down slightly to show the other numbers of contact.
thank you
fab
p.s when tap the alarm in today freeze my phone (htc cruise original italian rom)

Same here!!
If I could have weather support for "Viana do Castelo, Portugal", this plugin would suit all my needs. The rest is very, very nice. It rocks!!
Thanks you all for your idea, sure with version 1.6 you will feel the fresh air of Hinavigator,
We are trying our best to support language pack and interesting features also.
Have a nice day,
Best from Hanoi,

Well, i am quite impress by this software so far, still using the old version 1.5 and looking forward to have the update version, besides the stability (react pretty slow on my device sometime), the rest are working flawlessly on my Asus P750 VGA..
Way to go, worth to try.

greets voxid...
ps: it s the best homescreen i found till now.

first of all, all roms currently have it (all 6.5 latest) as far as i've seen.
and i actually asked but no one answered.
Works with Dutty's R1.
Or simply change the following registry key from 1 (enable) to 0 (disable) - restart is not needed:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"Weather.EnableCurrentLocation"=dword:0

well, both fixes turn out to fix this issue in the weather tab however the home tab still shows the last weather that it had before disabling this feature.
do you have any idea about how to fix it? and BTW, thanks for you help.
To turn it off "My Location" in the home screen tab, simply tap the clock, add a city, and make this city active. After that, you will have the home tab (and the weather tab, of course) displaying data for this city.
The patch that the fellow members told you about in the previous posts, makes the Weather Tab not showing "My Location" as an extra location (beside your current location you have selected for the Home tab).
Thanks

It's not so easy. Even that you change it, when it pass some time I see again "My Location". This happens in any Leo rom. Any ideas?

Is there a way to integrate SPB Time instead of the HTC Alarm?
What about phone suite, anyone managed to get integration in sense GUI

No.
But i think SPB Time integrates with WP.
what do you mean wp?
Well, there is a way to integrate G-Alarm, so why not Spb Time? Their 3.0 version is quite nice, by the way.
+1
I must say that I am pretty amazed by the interface of version 3.
Would be great to have it linked with the Sense Home menu.
Anyone managed to do it?
It did work on my Touch HD but not in HD2, so I have now given up completely. I was able to get bits of it to work like phone filtering but it was just too much grief and the today bit keep on being greyed-out.
Now moved over to Magi Call and it is so much better, does calls and sms and I so wish that if SPB bring out a new version that they take a look at this program and try and better it if they can.
Spb time on home screen
M currently using SPB TIME directly from home screen. when i press alarm button it automatically takes me to spb time app, u just need to install cookie's home tab and u can edit alarm in registry.
cheers
try this:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493810&page=27
(or search for SSMAHO)
...no probs on my HD2 (spbtime, pocketinformant)

it´s written in the post already: install Cookies Home Tab. With it instaled you can select any appication to start when clicking to the clock of your Home Tab
use CHT
then in cht Editor > Application
change alarm +/- clock to Spb
Thanx for the replies guys, but this method only opens up the alarm set screen,it doesn't directly open SPB Time itself which is what I'm after (from the home screen rather than using a quicklink)
Edit : I stand corrected I didnt add the clock to the application list, that did the trick cheers.
I can get CHT to link to SPB alarm and it will open it up, but it main tab doesn't show any alarms set. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I do it thru CHT editor. It will link the home tab shortcut to SPB alarm, but the alarms don't show up on the home tab.

if you just need to edit homepage shortcuts it may be a better solution to run CHT 1.6.1, it's lghter and needs less resources than CHT 2.
SPB Mobile shell is another good option, it will show on homepage your spb time alarms
Hello.
Do you know... how to remove weather from clock from Manila 2d home tab ??? I want only digital clock, not with weather
Not possible in Manila....only with another homescreen app. like SPB mobile shell/phone suite ......etc
It´s bad and some new manila 2d customizer would not help ?
Maybe that would help but I have not seen or heard about a new M2DC.......
I would have to probably redo XML and anything else, it is very difficult for me. Would I find someone who would try it ?

The 1.2 version doesn't have it.
The xtreme rom has it and the weather is no longer there.
If you can tell me how to give you guys the XML i will be glad to do it.
