Anyone Use Blink? - Android Apps and Games

I like BerryBuzz on my BB before, now i want to find an app just like the same for my Nexus one, I install Blink on the market. But the frequency doesn't works fine. Is there any one use it? Do you have the same problem?

First off, this is not the QA section.
Second, no, I don't use Blink since going to a ROM which gives me full control over the LED. Enom, Cyanogen, likely others, all do this..

Looking for battery percentage mod

I have looked all over and found this mod for the nexus but thats it. Anyone know of this mod for the hero that they could link me to. I want the battery indicator with percentage, not an app, but to replace the stock battery indicator.
Please move to mod/theme forum
Talk to Darch, he has that in his Darchdroid rom.

Sorry.. this is the theme app forum. The only other subforums for cdma hero are accessories, general, and development. Wasn't sure where to place it, however don't see a "mod" section at all..
None the less, move it if you need to, still looking for this mod. I will try to contact who you suggest

It was originally posted in the development forum where it didn't belong. It has correctly been moved to the theme forum now.
I would love to have this mod work with Sense. I have seen the mod the OP is referring to on the N1, and it is pretty brilliant.
I've already talked to Darch about the possibility of getting this on a ROM such as DamageControl. His response was that is wasn't possible without having the code for the .29 kernel. I'm guessing since his is AOSP, he can put it in his ROM more easily. Just a guess though, I know little about programming, code, etc.

Thats unfortunate. I would love to have this.
I know it's not a mod, but I use the Battery Indicator app to display battery percentage in the taskbar...it's free, light, and has worked great since day 1.

Until we get an actual OS mod, I'll be using this app.
Again, don't flame, just trying to provide a temporary solution.

Excuse me Darch, I was confused with something else and did not mean to put words in your mouth. We did exchange PMs about it but your response said we'd need the source code for a sensui rom to be able to do that. Again, please accept my appologies, there was no ill intent there, just confusion on my behalf.

How do we know your who you say you are!
I use BatteryLife widget by Curve Fish and love it, it keeps the percentage accurate all the time. I think in the 2.2 build under the cyogenmod settings there is an option to add the battery percentage to the icon on top, but thats probably not helpful if you dont want to stray from sense.
I wanted this as well and noticed darch had the battery percentage indicator within his spareparts settings so I tried to pull his spareparts.apk and push it over to fresh 2.3.3 Rom but that didn't work cuz nothing showed up in my app drawer or within the settings menu. I really want this mod as well but for now I'm using the battery widget by geekyouup which only takes up 1x1 on your screen and it can toggle/open your WiFi/how/bluetooth/display

[opinions] Best kernel

Lets make a group list of Captivate Kernels and list which are the best with the Pro's and Cons.
I tried Cognition 2.2b and had problems with the music player which always showed an annoying notification and the call logs that also showed annoying notifs, another problem was wifi connectivity, but its safe to assume that these cells arent the best for wifi. And at Launcher Pro it didnt show my settings options when i pressed and hold the home key.

It's all good bro, we were all new at one time. I like running the i9000 re-oriented kernel by xcaliburinhand. This way you are able to run a i9000 ROM. The reason I like this kernel is because I have no need for any of the OC/UV kernels. The captivate is already fast as hell (especially with voodoo). DesignGears probably has the best kernel for froyo, but I haven't experimented with too many different ones. haha I am also new to flashing.
Remember: read, read, and keep reading. then post.
Mine:
ROM: Cognition 2.3b3
Kernel: Cog's kernel that comes with the ROM
I had no difficulty upgrading from Cog 9.1.1. Just make sure all your stuff is up-to-date, and make sure to follow directions... it's all pretty "cut and paste" past that.
Best kernel goes to the setiron imo, that universal lagfix is just unreal, coupled with the overclock/340mb of memory and the speedmod nothing comes close to it in terms of speed.
Best rom is debatable, when i decided to switch to froyo i compared all of the current froyo roms and decided on killer23d's rom. If you want the two combined get MikeyMike01's rom.
Setiron's compilation just has everything you could want. Im runing it with DRS 3.0 and its awsome.
The one I am using....no issues
however I have not tried any others. I may give Cyanogen a try if they build one but I like Cognition now.
Thread would be more valuable if a person 'voting' for a specific rom would list pros and cons:
Pros
ONe
Two
Three
Cons
ONe
Two
or pros only.
Otherwise, lets just go browse the dev forum and do the usual reading.
I haven't done any specific kernal only updates, so unfortunately I don't have anything I can share of value.

It does everything anyone needs

Bluetooth/hsupa work fine with setiron.
Good to hear. I may have to give it a try.
I think someone was asking DesignGears if he may add that kernal to his next ROM. Didn't see an answer.

Taking serious suggestions on new ROM

Hello,
This is adamholden85. Most of you know me from Axura. I have formed my new team(first team actually) and I want to start hearing from the community what you guys want your next ROM to have/do. I am not looking for specific apps, that you can do yourself. I am looking for things such as functionality, looks, feel and so on. Please let me know so we can put this together and really put out something amazing for you.
i know you have played with the Armani rom, as have I. give it a shot, it appears to be fully working out of the box with no funky kernels or modems (only thing i had to do was enable 850mhz)

In regards to look, I prefer the current look of 2.5 so I would like to see something along those likes as the base. Other themes can modify visually from there.
Otherwise, Im up for about anything I am just totally sold on that look.
Awesome, this sounds like great news. I was really disappointed to see that you got pushed out of AXURA by a couple of bad apples being louder than those of us who truly appreciate the work you do. I started flashing back on my HTC Fuze with Winmo and your and Hans thread with AXURA was the most user friendly and helpful thread I have ever found on all of XDA. I'm definitely looking forward to this. Anyway, just wanted to let you know there are lots of us out here who are truly grateful, keep up the great work!
Anyway, to stop the love fest and maybe contribute a bit to this my personal preference is to avoid the OC/UV kernels. They just seem to add possible instability and I don't think they add much real world benefit at all.
Also, just a feature that seems to have been lost in Froyo that I liked in 2.1 was the ability to change brightness by swiping across the notification bar. Not sure if that's possible, but I'm suprised that no one else seems to miss that function, haha.
Just my two cents. Can't wait to see what you have for us Adam!
I kind of liked the green icons you had in version 2.5.1 But never did have any luck installing it and getting it to work correctly. Maybe I should of done a clean wipe.
Either way v2.5 works great.
I think some of the red icons like I have seen would be nice, I do miss the 3G icon. Even if it actually is H ?

And kernel makers wanna add in backlight notification mod?

Anybody who makes custom kernels for 2.2 wanna incorporate the BLN mod? Its the one thing that I feel 2.2 needs. Everything is great with the roms and kernels that come out, but that is one thing that is seriously lacking. I feel it needs to be addressed. So....any takers?

source for 2.2 just came out like 24 hours ago...it takes time to integrate mods into kernels..especially when most kernel devs for the fascinate/mesmerize/showcase have to get back into the swing of things after nearly 2 months off since froyo leaked
i didnt mean right away, just for future kernels. I think it would be a good thing to have.
+1 for this, NoLED is nice but unfortunately locks up my phone from time to time. Once again no rush devs, just showing interest.
I had it for 2.1 and I thought it was the best app ever. Its good to look at your phone from a distance and know you have a email/text/missed call.
yup i miss the notification light of my EVO.
if the home or search button came on when there was a notification that would be cool.

Nope, just the soft-key back-lights unfortunately. It sounds like a neat feature, hopefully someone will bring it about.
The fascinate ROM's are exactly compatible with our system (if it's built on a voodoo kernel, then our voodoo kernel would most likely run it, don't ever run a different model's kernel/radio obviously) so if they do any work on it we could easily port it.
Bln worked with the 2.1 voodoo kernel (JT's, iirc). It's one of the few things I miss...

Actually, I am talking about the kernel he is building from the EC10 source drop. In fact, it looks like he's already released it between now and when I wrote that last post. It has the works: BLN, Voodoo Sound, Voodoo Lagfix, Undervolted, It has network speed increases, an interactive cpu governer, and more that he doesn't even mention.

[Request] "Nokia 3210"-ROM

Hey my friends.
Im searching for an absolutely stripped down ROM to use as an low-battery-emergency-ROM.
In the best case everything besides phone-funcionality is stripped away (not only deactivated, but truely removed with all dependecies):
No Wlan, No bluetooth, No GPS, No apps, No launcher...
I would love to use such an phone-only-ROM as a 2nd-ary ROM in multiROM.
If our battery dies, we can put on our phone and watch it for 2 minutes, while it is booting, and another 1 minute while shutting down.
If we had a minimal ROM which is for example 10Mb, it should bootup in 5sec and give us about two and a half minute to make an emergency call.
Im far too noob yet to compile it on my own.
Just learned to compile an apk (gravityBox)
Im a good modder, but just removing the apk is not the level of stripping down, what im looking for.
Thanks all!
Cheers
Blade
P.S.: Dialer only would be enough, but it would be awesome to either have 3-5 predefined numbers or the whole contact-list (But the last one would make the ROM bigger than it should be i think)
You might want to try in the Nokia forums.
