Looking for Twitter client with widget

I have tried almost every application available on market (in Sweden) but none supports widget in free version.
The purpose in looking for new apps for both Twitter and Facebook is that I'm tired of timescape and replacing it with two separate applications..

I have also tried many free twitter apps.
I have to say that Twicca was the most suitable for me. Leaving running on background, and set interval to half hour, i get the most updates trough the notification. Also there is a widget, to bad it doens't show the last post/reaction of your following, but you have a nice neat set of buttons to make directly your own pic, search user, watch all the posts of your following.
The most best of all is that twicca can post your GPS location and post a pic directly from camera, or search your phone for a picture/movie or record a movie.
Twicca is on my phone for a month now... Still happy with it, only to save my battery drain i always kill the app when i am done xD

Im not into Tweeter that much.

I recommend using the twicca app..I like it and it has a widget too.
It has a clean UI and is fast.

I am using tweetcaster version 1.9 by handmark. I actually preferred twiccas twitter interface just a tiny bit better than tweetcasters, but tweetcasters widget blows twiccas out of the water. The widget is 4x2 and has a text input bar for directly tweeting from the home screen, it also has your latest tweet from your feed on the homescreen, with a button to play your twitter feed, skip ahead to the next tweet, or back to the previous one (if not your most recent). It is the most useful twitter widget i have been able to find (on a free app) and the usefulness of the widget pushes it above all the other twitter apps I have tried. I have not bought any of the premium twitter apps to try their widgets (touitter, twidroid, etc.) so cant really comment on those.
Look for tweetcaster, if its available in your region, and give it a try. it is free after all, so cant hurt to try.

New Vlingo App

I was chosen to do a survey of two different versions of the new Vlingo app, so I got some screenshots. Wondered what you guys think of the new version of the app that will soon be released in a month or so..

Version 2:
I love the new interfaces, not sure which version they will go with. That's the reason they wanted us to give feedback. I love the humor of the "way too loud" screen.
And no I will not share an APK, so please don't ask. I'm under very strict rules. Sorry guys. Which I could.

This much nicer than the old one.
I would love to try this.

Looks really great - though would love to see a dark theme. Also hoping they've incorporated new features such as the equilavent of google's "listen to". Vlingo tends to be more accurate I've found.
I can't make up my mind over which version I prefer - both look great.

Version 1 for me.
Version 2's UI reminds me of the Edwin interface.

Personally i am happy with any UI... cuz i just HOLD the search key to run Vlingo... just curious about the features...
so in this new version, it seems you have more options as to what you can tell vlingo to do...

Yep. Through voice commands it can post facebook and twitter statuses (possibly other social services down the road.. who knows), it can send sms, emails, and can make phone calls, open up google searches, it can open up google maps and navigation with specific addresses and such (eg. "Navigate to 1313 Mockingbird Lane"), and it can open other applications.
As for the ETA, not completely sure. Could be another month or more.

excellent apps have been using it lately.
Like the 1st version but would prefer a darker theme as vlingo is most used app on my phone.

I'm wondering if there is any app (or even a website/rss feed) for real breaking news, news like the last oslo incident, japan's earthquake... not stuff like Lindsey lohan's trip for shopping...

There are two that I use regularly:
Stock Andorid Genie Widget because you can add or remove topics as you want and also add completely custom topics too just by searching for that topic. Google then combs various news sites and gives you the topics based on your request.
Official BBC App is probably the best in my opinion again as you can customise the topics as you want. Unlike Genie Widget which opens the articles in the browser, BBC articles are all in the App. It also has video links and photo galleries too.

AlJazeera has the latest real, unbiased news available, IMHO.
For example, here's a screenshot depicting their Amy Winehouse overdose coverage...lol.

Good thread. I'm a bit of a news junkie myself. The first place I've been turning to lately is search.twitter.com. It's the fastest real-time outlet I've found.

News Republic is a very very nice app. Just fyi..

Taptu is the best news app. It's like pulse but better. You can add hundreds of streams, rss feeds, facebook, twitter and merge them into topics of your choosing.

+1 to the stock android genie. I just through it on after reading this thread. Man I have been looking for this kind of app for aa long time. I can't believe it was right in front of my face the whole time. Thanks for the suggestion and I would highley recommend checking it out.

Stock genie is one of best, AP news n pulse also gud.
If neone want to create him/herself own news application with auto update, widget support, you can do it with appyet.com, just search best RSS feeder for you, n craete online application for you, it is also a gud idea

SeriesGuide - TV Show Tracker

I watch a lot of TV shows and it is hard to keep up with new episodes. I also had trouble to trying to figure out which shows I have already watched.... thus I found the perfect app.

I agree. I love this app, except for the fact that its widget really looked out of place on my home screen.
I have added a few settings to customize it; if anyone is interested I will push these changes back to GitHub and ask the author if we wishes to integrate them.

Regarding the widget, I'm also not too fond of it the way it looks right now. I do like the transparency, but the 'next' text in capitol letters is way to big. If that would be in normal text, it would be better. And the show covers could be doubled in size (thus increasing the line hight for each episode), so it'll be a little more easy on the eyes when watching the list.
Besides that, I very much love this app!
On a second note, perhaps a fourth theme could be implemented: 'rom default'. Install a recent version of Chainfire's SuperSU app and you'll see what I mean It matches the theme based on the used framework. So if you're on a Sense ROM, the app will be Sense themed, and if you're on TouchWizz, it will be TW themed.

When a lot of people have written me not run from them because they have not set hardware buttons I scored application.Settings were added to the lists. I also added the notification sound and Brazilian language, if anyone would like to add my own language enough to write me on mail [email protected]. In Version 2.0 prepared by adding mms, disable the notification icon and off chatheads and also dark version You can enjoy It will soon be version 2.0 on Google Play

It looks really good but still has some bugs!keep up the good work
