So I updated my console emulators today and noticed we now have the ability to play multiplayer Via: Blue Tooth, and WiFi. This is a very nice feature and I believe this will be very valuable to any one looking to play retro games with friends over the internet. I could be late I’m sure some of you are already playing games with friends I haven’t been home to test this new feature. Has anyone successfully played any multiplayer games across the internet?
If not lets get to work and make it happen?
That would be pretty sweet. I remember back when I was into PSP Custom Firmware you could play games that were meant only for local ad-hoc wifi over full IP with some intervening hack.
Yea I was just talking to a friend trying to figure out how multiplayer over wifi networks functions.. I was thinking adhoc network but you wouldn't need a wireless access point to use an adhoc network. I don’t understand.. Maybe the wireless access point is used just to connect the client and host. But I’m sure there is a way to play over the internet using the net play feature. I just have to get home and access my home network to play with it. Now being able to play over the 3g network is a whole nother animal.

Has anyone come across any games that support multiplayer via bluetooth? I'm talking about games with this option deliberatley enabled that work on the xda 2, any ideas?
Games found
I've got a version of Yahtzee on my xda 2 that's made by Handmark. The game (albeit simple but addictive) is bluetooth capable but I can't get the bluetooth to work. It works through the IR port ok but when in bluetooth mode, it's asking for a 'host name' or 'IP address'(?). A guy I work with has the same game & phone but we can't connect no matter what we try. Any advice here would be appreciated as it's just annoying not knowing.
Good business idea for future applications
I have a motorola zoom tablet. I am using Remote Desktop Client by: Xtralogic, Inc. I have access to my laptop at home while traveling over Verizon's Network. Everything is working fine, except I am unable to play World of Warcraft on the Tablet via remote desktop access. I have researched port information and have setup router via all listed port settings. World of Warcraft attempts to load and then I get error " Running World of Warcraft through a Remote Desktop connection is not supported. Exiting program." Is there a work around?
Thanks!
Have you tried using free vnc for the pc and android free vnc app for the tab? Perhaps WOW wouldn't detect that connection, I haven't tried to play, because I don't have a tablet. Just a thought though.
You can't render 3D applications through an RDP connection with any kind of speed at all. If you could get it to work it would look like a slideshow and be impossible to interact with. You should bring a laptop, or chill out and not raid while you're traveling.
When WoW becomes your job it's time to quit.
Quit his job, or WoW?
BTW, newest versions of RDP do support some 3D acceleration (look for info on RemoteFX). But yeah, don't expect to run any games that way, for multiple reasons. And don't expect to see this on any tablet or phone,as I doubt Microsoft makes the whole API public, so third party clients will always have limited support for RDP features.

Assuming you can get it to play in windowed mode, you should be able to do some things with splashtop. Try the free version first: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.splashtop.remote.free . I can sort of play starcraft 2 with this, and I definitely play ps2 and dreamcast with it, so give it a shot!

Try Splashtop it works for nearly every game that can be run in windowed mode.
We have some setup information here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=999133
You will want a wireless keyboard or a bluetooth controller to play with, I don't know if splashtop supports a mouse though.
If I can get my XOOM to play left 4 dead 2. You can probably get yours to play wow.
Well for $1.99 I couldn't resist. Downloaded splashtop, set a few things in my routers configuration and bam... WoW on my Xoom. I highly recommend a bluetooth keyboard and mouse of some sort if you're really dead set on doing this.
One drawback is you have to set your audio to 2 channel if its anything else, or it will simply mute.
I'm upping a youtube video now.

here you go
thanks for all the responses, this was for a coworker, who had to have her crack on the go, with all your suggestions and help she was able to accomplishes this, and now seeing her play wow on the xoom, i'm going to set this up for my gtab and relive yesteryear playing civ and half-life.
Lol.
Well your friend is going to have a less than perfect experience as there is hardly any mouse control at all... and if she just wants to be able to chat there's a much easier way to do it via the remote auction house app.
I'll save the armchair psychiatry for someone else but.... *snort*.
thank you
Thank you both! Of course it would be no where near the quality of PC gaming. Its just one of those itches I had to scratch. thank you again.

Lol, no problem. I tried to run around last night with a keyboard and mouse and found out real quick that splashtop doesn't translate mouseclicks or right clicks very well. Their solution to click and hold is to tap and then hold and drag which caused my POV to spin way out of control and from then out I couldn't see anything so I just logged out lol.
I would prefer the $2.99 a month remote auction house service to this.
I have to admit though it's terribly fun to show off
I'm not a hardcore player and I work too much. However I still find the time to connect my Wii remote and play mario and galaga on the Xoom. Oh yes, its very much fun to show both of them!
Hello guys,
I know some of you have been playing Tiny Tower, I absolutely love this game
Big problem though, whereas on iPhone I was able to play in the subway, I switched to a Galaxy Nexus, and I can't apparently play the Android version of the game while I don't have a data connection.
It's apparently impossible to play this game while offline.
Would by any luck one of you have found a solution/tweak/hack to do this?
I've found a solution on argue4android but it does not seem to work.
Thanks!
No one?
Hello, everyone! I purchased a 16GB, Wi-Fi Shield Tablet right before the LTE version game out. My main purpose is GameStream to my TV via USB OTG (Y-Cable, Ethernet + power).
I also bought two Shield Controllers so myself and my girlfriend could both play games at the same time. Some games I have show up in the native GameStream menu, some I open via Steam, but regardless, they support multiplayer.
Examples: Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Spulenky, etc.
However, whenever I try to play a game that supports multiplayer and register one controller to Player 1, when I try to register the second controller, it also controls Player 1 and won't show up as a completely independent, second controller.
What can I do to alleviate this? As silly as it sounds, I bought this whole setup to teach the girlfriend the way of gaming (at her request, too!), so not being able to play anything multiplayer on GameStream is a bit of a letdown.
Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how did you fix it?
Thanks so much!
I experienced this a long time ago and I asked this on Google+ and no-one knew what to do. They said I should call nvidia, but I never did...
Sheds a little bit of light on the matter. I do hope they figure it out, though.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but has this been adressed? I just bought a 2nd controller last night, and nothing works 2 players. Even JuJu, a Shield title doesn't register that a 2nd controller is there.
EDIT: i actually just figured it out!! it was the USB dongle for my google tv keyboard. removed it, and both controllers work now in game. found this in another thread

Was having all the same problems until i found this absolute GEM of a program. It fixed everything for me. Just make sure you have your controllers ON, and then start up the moonlight app. Literally every single game works now as intended. For the record, I'm using 4 XBOX360 wireless controllers with the official Microsoft wireless dongle attached to my Shield
Moonlight (install on your Shield): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.limelight&hl=en&rdid=com.limelight
I've been searching for awhile now, and can't find what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a local multiplayer game that you play on PC and android devices simultaneously. An example would be a card game where each person's hand would be on their phone, and the card table would be on the PC where every body could see. I have my PC connected to my TV, so something like this would be awesome for when we have people over. They could communicate through either WiFi, or Bluetooth. I know there are a few games like this that uses Chromecast, but I have no need for that considering my computer is connected to my TV already. Does anybody know if games like this exist? If not..why not!? Thx in advance for any feedback.
Well man i guess you can use an android emulator on pc such as bluestacks or something...search for it and read about it
