COMPLETE REVERSAL help - Captivate General

Hey all,
I have a rooted, overclocked, updated OS installed Captivate from all the help on the forum.
I am wondering how I can completely restore it to stock everything? Is there a stock kernal I can flash, or is it more complex than that?
Thanks much in advance!

Question about Rooted ROM update

Hi,
Just a small question. When you root a stock ROM, what happens when you click on update in the future? Will it work just fine? or, will it affect the hack?
I'm an ex-iPhone user, and with iPhone, once you jailbreak, update was no no cuz' it'd undo the hack.
I'd love to know about this for Inspire 4G. Thank you.
(P.S. the ROM I use is gtg's ROM, which is basically the stock ROM with minor tweaks).

at this point, seeing as gb will be out in about 3 weeks i would recommend that you not flash anything and wait for it. cause once you root it is a bit risky to try and update officially. you will have to unroot in order to update via lg tool. so best to wait, get the official gingerbread, have some fun with it and in the meantime a better custom gingerbread will be out so you can start flashing with that
thank you for your advice, out of curiosity,
has your device been randomly restarting ever since they added the 3d converter?

nope. my device has been stable as a rock ever since day one when i bought it. didnt have any random reboots whatsoever. And i found that although custom roms are way faster than the lg one i prefer the stock because of its stability. had a few probs with all the custom roms from a few reboots to phone freezing. no such thing on stock though

[Q] Need Rom that can Overclock.

Okay guys hear me out, sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forums, I'm currently rooted on the stock build I believe, my specs are as follows: Build Number: JROO3C.WW_epad-10.4.2.13-20120907. Android Version: 4.1.1. I rooted to remove bloatware, and whatnot, but now I want to overclock, and it can't be done with the kernal I have I guess, Stock rom doesn't support it, So I'm on a quest to find a working rom for my build that has been tested and working properly, I have the TWRP recovery I think it's called. And if you haven't guessed my device is Asus TF300T. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll be around waiting for a response, so if you need any other question answered or need more info I'll be around, Thanks for all the help.

SO your TF300T is unlocked ?
Apparently, you have the TWRP recovery.
And you want a rom that can overclock ?
So you have several roms, but the best you can do, it's to click to my sig > index for the TF300t, and you will find all roms based on stock and others based on Cyanogen.
The best thing that you can do is to read a little, choose 2 or 3 roms that you find interesting, and try one after one (one week per rom) and you will choose the best rom for you. It will be your choice.

Yes it's unlocked, and thanks, going to try the Hydro rom I suppose. Are the Cyanogen roms compatible with what I'm running? TWRP and Stock JB?

Hydro ROM does not have CPU OC, I think jb blue and [email protected] has overclock. Latest CM 10 is compatible with jellybean boot loader and latest TWRP.

there's no stable custom rom for i9070P so far... there you have two options
1. factory ROM (DXAME1) with custom kernel (Co-Core 6.8b). A bit faster than stock kernel, everything is functional, and you can use some tweaks.
2. P.A.C-Man ROM beta 6.1 which is an amazing ROM with amazing speed, but camera is laggy, no hardware decoders, NFC doesn't work at all, and I didn't checked tether, but I'm afraid that doesn't work either. But fast and battery performance is excellent.

You only need this if you flashed an i9070 version ROM onto your i9070p. I didn't have data connection problem with my i9070p with PAC-MAN ROM v6.1 for the NFC version. The question is: which was your original ROM before flashing and what was the ROM you flashed?

[Q] Locked Boot Loader, Can I Still Install ROMs?

So I had to downgrade from 5.0.2 in order to install KK+Root+SU But is it possible to install ROMs if the boot loader is locked? God, this sounds like a very silly question. If anybody could shed some light on my lack of knowledge I'd be very grateful.

With a locked boot you cannot install anything that relies on a custom kernel. So no CM, AOSP, BP, DU AOKP etc....
Basically, you can only install stock (i.e sony xperia stock) based ROMs
