Hi all,
I've tried searching the site as well as Google, but unfortunately all the keywords I come up with are so common I couldn't find what I was looking for.
I'm looking for a way to make the ringer settings for my phone a function of the time of day.
For example, I generally keep the ringer on my phone set to ring once at the lowest volume setting to avoid being rude either in public or while at work (cubicle environment). However, since I don't have a landline at home, I would like to have the ringer automatically change to ring multiple times at high volume to increase the chances of me hearing it / waking me up at night, then revert back in the morning.
At minimum, I want to be able to schedule volume and number of rings. Being able to change the actual ringtone would be a nice bonus. I'm not concerned about more fancy things like different tones for different people or things like that. A solution using a few registry hacks would be fine, a simple little program would of course be better.
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys...
I am curious if any of you have found the same BUG in this software that I have, or if maybe I have some kind of conflict issue?
It seems that PCP has a bug in the profiles, in that the SMS settings don't function properly. You *should* be able to set the volume of the SMS independently of the system volume, but I am finding this is not the case. The SMS volume *always* follows the system volume settings.
Say, for example, you have a profile whereby you want to set the phone for the evening. So you turn the SMS volume OFF, and you leave the system volume ON so as to wake you with the alarm at the specified time. You will still hear the SMS sounds when a text comes in.
If you turn the system volume down, however, while leaving the SMS volume up, then you won't hear it at all.
This is further complicated by the fact that the SMS over ride tones in the individual profiles are completely ignored by the program.
It seems to me, being as they are on version five something, this fundamental bug should have been fixed by now. So I am wondering if maybe it is something that *I* am doing, or is it just some shoddy programming?
What I am asking, I guess, is if you guys are able to set the SMS appropriately per profile, or am I maybe doing something wrong? Does this function work, or does it not?
Enquiring minds want to know.

So Im not sure where this would actually fit in on here but Im looking for something close to a Vibetonez kinda program, for WinMo 6.1. For those of you that dont know Vibetonez were ringtones that when a bass note would hit, or a certain rhythme would go, it would vibrate along with the ringtone music, I was just wondering if someone knew of an alternative or even how you would go about doing something like that, again I appologize if this has been brought up before or If Im putting this in the wrong category, just interested in something like this.
bump..
that would be a nice app..
Try VAlert...
with this u can compose your own vibrate sequence...

I've actually been looking for the same thing (I think), and VAlert didn't provide it:
VAlert lets you set a custom vibration pattern, but as far as I can tell, only one single pattern.
It would be nice if there was a program that let you set multiple different custom vibration patterns for different callers. That way you could 'feel' who was calling, and decide if the call was important or not without having the ringer on.
is there anything that provides that ability?

I was looking for something more like this, or something that responds to the ringtone. not just a set vibrate pattern
Yeah I was thinking more so responding to the actual ringtone, VAlert is nice but it would be nice if you could set multiples ones though, for instance a different vibration for SMS, MMS, Email, Appointment, Voicemail, Ecetera. It would be nice if you could figure out what frequency of music the program would pick up, and vibrate to that frequency, although to me that seems rather demanding on that scale.
Searched here and on google and found nothing helpful to my particular problem. I am currently on a TeamEOS 4.4.4 ROM (7-11-14 nightly) and also had this problem on Cyanogen 10.2.1. I have my default ringtone set to silent because I work nights and get a lot of calls but there are very few people who I want to be able to wake me up, those people all have a ringtone set in the contacts section. None of them ring more than once. It's once, then silence, it doesn't go to voicemail after that - the rings on the caller's end are normal, and the phone continues to act like it is ringing with the little animation and it vibrates, it just doesn't make a noise. With the default ringtone set to a ring it rings as it should. What is the deal with this? Note: They aren't custom ringtones, they're stock with this ROM, custom ringtones that functioned as they should before I rooted function incorrectly now, so it is not the files themselves. Fresh install/reset does not help.
Are you having this issue on sense? Also, double check volume controls. They aren't consolidated so maybe the ringer specific control is off

It's with sense or whatever manages notifications in the ROM, I haven't used an addon app. I checked and it's certainly not the volume controls.
Well then try an RUU. I've never heard of anything like this
Ages later and with a newer ROM and it still does this. Nobody else has this problem?
Hi.
This is probably the most annoying problem I've got with this phone. Basically, when your headphones are plugged in and you're trying to enjoy some music, receiving a text message results in a loud and clear "beep" tone. I understand it could be useful at times, for example when the screen is off and you actually care about any messages you may get, but most of the time it makes it pretty much impossible to listen to any kind of music at all, because the sound can be really disturbing.
The problem is that the tone can still be heard, even if you enable all "silent" modes and what not. That includes the "no disturb" mode as well, but it doesn't deliver any less disturbance, go figure.
I could think of two solutions to that, first would be to just go into the airplane mode, which is suboptimal for obvious reasons and it also won't work at all if you stream your music (when there are no WiFi networks nearby). The second thing I've yet to try is to set a silent audio file as the message tone to see if it removes the beep sound. I'll have to try it later.
Let me know guys what do you think about this matter and what other solutions come to your mind. Maybe there's a way to disable the feature in the settings somewhere, which I just wasn't able to find myself?
I want to be able to:
1) change profiles depending on where I am (primarily, home versus work), preferably using cell towers only like Llama (no GPS, wifi, bluetooth, or data)
2) but with some exceptions, for example I want some people to be able to get in touch with me at work but at a reduced volume. As soon as I step out of the office, I want ringer volume back up
I searched the forums and tested Llama and Automagic and looked at Locale but wasn't sure if I should take the plunge for $10:
Llama - I almost had this doing what I wanted but couldn't get it to sound off when my wife texted me. It also would not let me set different volume levels for the ringer and notifications, which I think was the reason my wife could not get through (noisy contacts option applies only to rings, not to notifications? maybe?)
Automagic - a little too advanced for me
May I politely ask for suggestions?
With tasker maybe?
"Tasker" has an impressive amount of triggers, actions, and parameters that can be used together in an incredible variety of ways. It can even accept scripts to follow instructions.
