are the new microsdch cards compatible with the touch pro
I've never heard of those, but micro sdhc cards work fine , I'm using an 8mb one
i think sdhc cards are min 4GB dont think anybody feel that 8MB cards are that high capacity
i dunno....it's pretty high capacity for something smaller than my little fingernail
I'm about to purchase a microsd for my HTC Touch pro and i'm between :
Kingston 8gb SDHC class 4
http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=170972
and
SanDisk 8gb SDHC class 2
http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=158255
and
Expansys 8gb SDHC class 2
http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=164646
Now the question is will the HTC support any of the 3 and why the heck is the class 4 kingston lower cost than the other two seeing as its supposed to be faster ? :/
Dunno. Kingston are usually cheaper than sandisk anyway, and i wouldn't touch Expansys' own brand stuff with a bargepole.
Oh and yeah, it should work fine.

Yep, they'll all work. Go for the Kingston. Class 4 is indeed faster. Probably cheaper because it's newer stock (you can tell from the Expansys stock code).
Expansys never seem to reduce prices on accessories like these. They go in at a certain price, and stay at the same price 'til they're all gone. By the way, hold out for a couple of weeks (hopefully?) and you should be able to pick up a 16Gb MicroSD for about £50...
Oh, and if you hit Google, you can usually find a £10 Expansys voucher knocking around for purchases over £20...
EDIT: Just looked at the links, The SanDisk one is Class 4 as well, so I'd probably go for that one, as they're the same price, and I've had loads of flawless SanDisk cards over the years...

Yeah, Expansys are kinda expensive. Try mobymemory, I've always had an excellent experience with them.

8GB Class 4 SanDisk WITH card reader, loads cheaper. Plus when they say it's in stock, you can be pretty certain that it actually is.
Hi, regarding the different speed classes of the micro sdhc cards:
Does it always make sense to use the fastest card and does this really affect the performance according the cards speed class?
I mean does anybody know about the maximum speed of the card interface of the touch pro? I'm thinking to buy the SanDisk Ultra (class 6)
Within the device itself, the class of the card won't matter too much. A class 4 is probably comparable to a class 6, and certainly wont make a difference when it comes to playing mp3s or viewing pictures. But a class 6 card will certainly make file transfers faster on to/off of the card using a PC (best results if you use a separate usb/card adapter and not "disk mode" on your Touch Pro).
For reference, I'm using A-DATA Class 6 8gb MicroSDHC, works perfectly and no errors. Available for $31 at Newegg (if you're in US).
sandisk class 4 sdhc microsd 8 GB is the fastest at the moment and you can get it for 33 euro.. works fantastic..
hi i'm after a 16gb memory card but don't know what class to get, as cheap as possible but it must be from a well known manufacturer
Probably doesn't matter what anyone says - whichever brand person X stands behind, somenoe else will say it failed on them and to go for brand Y.
Having said that, I have a 16gb Kingston class 2 which has been perfect, cost about £25 or so when I got it. Recently picked up the same but a class 10. That one was about £80 including shipping as I wanted to see the speed difference, etc.
Not sure what others people will swear by. I don't swear by Kingston, but I have yet to have one go bad on me...

And was the Class 10 worth it for speed?
I've used both Kingston and Sandisk in the past - and currently have a 8GB Class 6 Sandisk in my desire. It's been just fine.
I'd like to make the leap to a 32GB card, but I'm slightly concerned the Class 2 one available might have issues. (Although I've read many contradicting posts on that subject too!)
@TractorMatty
Between an older 16gig class 2 and the 16gig class 10 yes - galleries rendered much quicker, seemed more responsive, etc.
But between a class 6 and a class 10... meh. Not worth it at the moment.
Does it matter what class you get? Because so far I can only find a 16bg class for over just £20.
Using Team Group 16GB microSDHC Class 6.
Got it from ebay
Go for Classe 6 it's almost like a C10, but cheaper (and you won't really notice any difference).

Well, i can tell the diff between my shipped in Desire's Samsung 4G Classe 2 and my previous Sandisk 8G Classe 4... My Classe 4 is faster.
I got a 8gb class 4 Kingston.. its fast enough for me...
Sent from my Desire using XDA App
I took the risk and tried the 32gb, online for $40au... failed miserably and still scarred by the copious time spent trying to copy, format, reformat, copy... with most ending up in the lost.dir (except for 1.2gb that ended up working).
Since then, have got a 16gb SanDisk. It's only a Class 2, but haven't had any issues with speed whether it be reading or writing. Avi's play in sync... Good bang for the buck.
Mind you, I only went for SanDisk because they were always good to me in the standard SD days, but have heard plenty of good word on Kingston and Lexar.
32gb on ebay are 75% fakes.
I just got my Kingston 16gb Class 10 card. Do you guys think my card reader's speed is maxed out and it might be able to go faster than this?
I'll be getting THIS ONE when they get it back in stock.
Well, just got a Kingston 16Gb class 10 and can't use it, because it's defective .
But I'm not blaming Kingston, it can happen with any brand and I'm gonna exchange it... Hopefully I have a Sandisk 16Gb class 2, a not-very-fast-but-working-SD-card....

Hi
Know there is a 1000 topics on this already, but couldn't find any answer in any of them for my question.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a 32GB class6 or higher microSD card?
I can't find a single one on google, ebay, amazon, bestbuy or pricewatch...
I can see that Kingston makes them on there homepage, but I can't find anywhere to buy them :S
Found this one, put it seems that it is only class4, which I can tell from the picture, even though the text says otherwise

thansk in advance
I don't know whether the answer is not too late
Can use the other instead?

They are indeed available. I just bought one on BUY dot com (but cannot post link). It is a 3C brand, class 6 (3C is made by TopRam, and I've done well with them in the past)
BTW, word of advice: whenever you buy a new SD/microSD/USB/etc and as soon as you receive it ALWAYS run a Write-test using h2TestW tool. This way you can tell right away if the card is
a) defective
b) meeting or exceeding the rated speed
c) a "faked-capacity" counterfeit :-o
Any of the above, you get your money back!
Early theme, right?

Lexar has class 10, Kingston has class 6 versions of 32gb microsd
i have a better question... what can you do with 32gb that you cant do with 16?
also, if you are looking for a class 10... i have a class 10 PNY in my evo 3d. but it is a 16. ridiculously smooth and fast. the transfer rate is well over what a class 10 should be.
i bought it at best buy for 60 bucks. don't know where you are located, but where i am there is a Fry's electronics close to me, and when i was shopping around they had a few class 10 32 gigs... wasn't familiar with the brand, though, so i chose a smaller one that i knew would work flawlessly.
hope that helped
why direct buy the class 10 ?

Class 6

http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3692.m570.l1313&_nkw=microsd+32gb+class+10&_sacat=See-All-Categories
But honestly, I'd rather have a kingston/sandisk class 4 than a generic class 10 brand. That's a lot of data to lose if something goes wrong. Besides, based on reviews, Sandisk underrates their cards. my 16gb class 4 sandisk is actually benchmarked as a class 6.

If the links dont work, just search them up on EBAY. Sorry my search results are australian based. Just change it.
if you use Apps2SD you definitely want a minimum a Class 6 card
ideally get a Class 10, you can easily feel (time) the difference between a class 4 vs class 6 in real life usage
I have a Class 6 16gb card, transfer rate on windows 7 between 5mb and 7mb sometimes don't have enough time to convert a movie and just copy the 2.5gb or 4gb the movie str8 to sd card and the phone plays it flawless if you're a camera addict or just want a good SD Card buy a Class 6 or above some users are ok with class 1 to
I have 16GB class 10. Actual speed when writing on it from my laptop hard-drive through USB cable is 6-8 MB/sec.

My Lexar Class 10 32GB from Amazon UK certainly writes as it should. I am getting the occasional glitch after writing to it from my Mac - not sure if it is the card or the SD card management. Not a major issue at the moment - wait and see if it gets worse.
Amazon is safer than eBay that's for sure, as long as you buy only the ones that are sold by "Amazon" itself, not the "others" cheaper retailers
back then i purchased some collector DVDs, and they sent me fake ones, but i paid for original ones, of course i though the cheaper available ones were also legit, but boy was i wrong
since then i learned to not pick any of the sellers on Amazon, and buy from Amazon retail only
i just tested my sandisk 16gb class 4 with crystaldisc mark..
i get 5.9MB from the adapter but only 3.2MB from the phone
y is it like this?

But of course Amazon is faster and more reliable.

It looks like a good deal for me. It will work well for the phone and it is good if it's not a counterfeited one. Sandisk MicroSD are known to be counterfeited a lot, especially on eBay.
Btw, you don't need a class 10 card. For whatever you do with your phone, you don't need to write in 10MB/s. 1080p video from the G2, for example, has a bit rate of only 2.5MB/s.
edit: I found the same microSD, sold by the same merchant, and cheaper at Amazon UK

The cheapest seller (currently Onebo, selling at £15) has only a 3.5/5 star rating, only 25% positive review. Some of the buyers complain that the microSD doesn't even have a Sandisk logo. I am not quite sure you want to buy from this seller.
I really recommend clicking the "63 new" line, them scroll down choosing Amazon UK as a seller. It's more expensive, but you're sure that you don't buy a fake card.
Regarding 64GB and class 10, it's totally your choice. 64 GB sure can store lots of stuff, and you can copy (from the computer) to the card quite fast.
In the other hand, 64GB class 10 card is about 3-4 times more expensive than the 32GB class 4 counter part. Not the most cost efficient option. In additional, the phone won't be able to utilize the class 10 bandwidth in most of your daily activities.
Edit: I bought a 32GB class 4 Kingston for HTC Vision, at $30 (around £15) shipped and sold by Amazon.com

The only two manufacturers that make 64GB cards are Kingmax (who built the card in the first place) and SanDisk (who doesn't make anything above a Class 6), and neither cards are Class 10. I'm actually pretty pleased with the 64GB card in my Doubleshot.
I just got one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00569J5E2/ref=ox_ya_os_product
Samsung 16GB class 10 for £17.
4EXT backs up 3 times quicker than the supplied Samsung 8GB class 2,
GTA3 1.1 is a bit smoother when driving quickly
It appears the UI and system apps that touch the SD are a bit more snappy. ie, gallery.
They do a 32GB bit I think the max speeds are a bit lower.

About dealextreme: buying from that site is pretty much a hit-and-miss. I have actually bought a lot of stuff from there. They're cheap, but also terribly slow at shipping. They also don't usually have goods in stock, and they backorder from the suppliers. NEVER buy there if you are in hurry, never.
Especially about memory cards, you never know if you're gonna get a genuine or a fake item. They just seem to ship whatever they have in stock. You might be lucky or not
Just buy from Amazon if you can. I have bought a Samsung 16GB class 10 for my Desire Z for 20€, and the increase in speed while loading the gallery is noticeable.
