[APP] LiveHome (Home Replacement App) - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Anyone used this home replacement app? I just played about with it and it has some pretty cool transitions between homescreens and it lets you search within your app drawer which is a handy feature when having a lot of apps.

Can you post screenshots of the launcher? I think we'd all like to have an idea of how it looks before we download it.
screen shots
attach the screenshots.
So what, exactly, is special about this launcher?
I like the concept. Great for users migrating from the iPhone, or those that want a simple interface. I downloaded it from the market last week, and have been playing around with it.
It places all your applications on a series of home (application) screens when first installed. You are then able to add up to 3 widget screens, which are placed to the left of the application screens. You can re-arrange your applications by grouping them into folders. These folders as well as your applications can be placed anywhere other than the widget screens, in any order. It doesn't have an apps drawer and so your wallpaper is visible at all times.
heyy dude!! I think itz too simple... i think an app drawer wid 3D wd b gud... N sum custom icons wid gud transition effects wd b gr8!!
Very nice.
Having an iPhone, this looks and feel just like it. Keep up the good work.

THank you.
Thanks for the clues.
Can someone change the layout to fit the Wildfire's screen?
Meh. The ui is boring and ugly lol.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
I tried vlauncher the other day, from the Market. What it does, it does well. I would like to see it do more. Here are my two suggestions:
1. Allow shortcuts and bookmarks on the Widget pages. In the standard Android launcher, is very convenient to get to battery use or a weather bookmark with one press of an icon on the screen.
2. In your settings, have an entry for the column and row sizes. On the 7 inch screen of my Nook Color I would like more than 4 columns and 4 rows of icons on each screen.
If you add these two features I think I could use vlauncher every day.

App drawer organizer

I have a horrid amount of apps and I need a way to organize my apps
Was curious if there were any apps that are capable of organizing the app drawer with folders to sort the apps.
If there's no app for it is there a way to manually create folders like in WinMo's start menu.
Sent from my SGH-T959 (Vibrant) using XDA App
Afaik there is no way to easily organize the drawer, i am currently using one of my homescreens as drawer with a app called "apps organizer" wich lets you create labels for apps and use those labels as shortcut with a popup menu containing all aps with that label

Apparantly I was wrong, extendedhome can organize the app drawer.

Dunno how good it is compared to other homescreen replacements though...
A better known home replacement capable of this is dxtop, this is not a free app though.
http://www.dxtop.com/
with launcher pro u can hide apps in your draw that u dont want to see
Thanks for all the suggestions I'm gonna go try some of them ... I use launcher pro and wasn't aware that out allows you too hide apps

dxTop has this capability as well. Used to be my favorite home replacement.
you could use ADW.Launcher or LauncherPro as home replacement
and then add an organizing app like Smart Shortcuts or Apps Organizer to the dockbar
this is genius in fact. i'm thinking about doing that myself!
no more need to spread essential app icons all over different home screens
That's what I'm trying to do minimize my home screens I'm already using Launcher Pro and I was looking at an app that is in beta just can't find the thread for it and can't quite remember the name it was like slip-something

You can also try quickdesk or power strip, extra home programs
organize apps in CORE ROM
Hi,
Can anybody help me, I would like to organize my apps, like on this pic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858418
I have that ROM, but cant find any place to make it like on the home screen !?
Maby its an app !??
(Small pic, of apps inside the folder/shurtcut) really like that feature.
seems to be a widget integrated in that rom.
take a look at your widget list. and if you still don't find it post the question in the rom thread ... good luck
Search the market for TagHome. Its a home screen replacement that allows you to organize your app drawer with different tags, really useful if you have lots of apps.

[POTENT COMBO] Apps that compliment each other and make for potent combos

The idea of this thread is to share experiences of what apps you've found that compliment each other so that their combination makes for a better overall experience.
Here's what I've found so far:
Autostarts & Task Identifier
Task Identifier alerts you when an app starts in the background, so you can know what's going on with your phone at all times. Autostarts breaks down all of the phone's event triggers that apps can hook into to be started. So TI alerts you when something goes on...Autostarts can provide the reasons.
LauncherPro & Elixir
LauncherPro is a home replacement app. Elixir is an app that provides lots of system info widgets...But the really sweet capability is its' more powerful and robust options of home screen icon layouts (like fitting 49 icons in a 4x4 layout!). LauncherPro's own 'Auto-fit Items' options for homescreen icons adds to the overall functionality so these 2 apps play well together.
Apps Organizer & Titanium Backup
I run CM7 nightlies, which means a lot of reinstalling system apps I don't want. Having an option in TB to remove a bunch of apps based on saved labels is a godsend! Apps Organizer lets you categorize and label all the apps installed and TB just so happens to recognize those labels. So the 2 play nice together.
I hope that's helpful and look forward to hearing from other that've found potent combos.
Mini Info and LauncherPro
I use Mini Info's volume control as a swipe gesture on a dock icon, works pretty nice
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
ADW launcher and widgetoid work well with options for up to 5x5 widgets.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
My current favorite widget locker and make your own clock (in beta in this forum)
Launcher Pro (again) and LCD Density (or a manual edit of build.prop)
I have Launcher Pro to have 6x6 icons and that's too many to see the icon labels. With the density lowered (200 in my case) you can see them, which is nice
Launcher Pro + Multipicture Live Wallpaper
have a look at a thread i posted here, video included as well:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=924865
Tasker goes well with pretty much anything.
But with Tasker + Minimalistic Text you can have all sorts of custom info on your screen.
Keepassdroid and Dropbox for the sync.

Nice post rasenkiba! I found his thread as I was exploring for new launchers to play with in CM9 nightly build 8/26/2012. You've done a great job at pulling together some of the more popular launchers - I especially like knowing which launcher is your preferred.
I'd like to add to this list the Trebuchet launcher which is the default launcher on the 8/26/2012 nightly build of CM9 for the Galaxy S3. I'm still breaking it in, but it seems fast and has some neat effects - I'm hooked on "Cube Out" for the app drawer and home screen transitions.
I previously used Zeam on my HTC G2 and it had two features that I miss dearly: Swipe Up and Swipe Down. I had them mapped to open the app drawer and open the notification bar, respectively - this allowed me to remove the app drawer button to be used by something else. I liked the minimalistic features of Zeam. After using Trebuchet I'm looking for a launcher that combines some of the Zeam features with some of the eye candy of Trebuchet.
thanks
very nice list, I also liked seeing which you preferred.
I usually go through a phase where I'll download every single app I can find for a specific function (photo editing, launchers, etc) and test them all out and delete the worst until I'm left with one.
I have a droid incredible, and was on CM7 for a while and fell in love with ADW. I'm big on screen transitions and gestures (man, do I miss lock screen gestures).
Now, I'm on Albinomans JB rom (which kicks so much ace) and have only tried Holo and Nova. Nova is the one I've stuck with as of now, and buying the Prime version was even more similar to the options of ADW.
Anyway, great compilation of launchers and I hope the info I posted helps some others as well.

nice work man .. and respect for the commitment and time spent
shelling out the money for nova prime
Not sure if you only wanted to include free launchers but Nova launcher is nice but if you spend the extra few bucks on the Prime edition, it is by far and away the best launcher I have ever used.

After testing ICS on my Xperia Pro, and using Nova Launcher Prime, I went back to GB because of some things that were worse in ICS, mainly RAM usage, games and wi-fi hotspot. I've been looking for a launcher that has 2 options that made me buy the prime version of Nova; using the home key to get into the app drawer (and then returning to the desktop) and folders in the app drawer. Is there a launcher that has those 2 functions BUT isn't Go Launcher EX?
Go Launcher EX isn't bad but, 6 icons per folder in the app drawer in landscape mode isn't enough (it had 10 in v2.85!)
I just loved using Nova, too bad it's ICS+ only

Hmm, ADW EX needs money, which I got but, Google hates my debit card or something. I got Nova because they also sell it outside of the Market ^_^ (and TiBu and the Sixaxis thing)
But yeah, my vote goes for Nova Prime in ICS, and the not-free category.
And Go Launcher for GB and older devices (and free!), I'll stick to 2.58 because of the folders' uselessness in landscape. Which used to have 10 icons instead of the actual version's 6...
Oh, Holo Launcher (the paid one) is nice too but, it has no drawer folders AND isn't available outide of the market.
I seem to have settled on Holo Launcher HD for my uses.
I tried out the paid version of Nova and it was good, but just not my cup of tea. However, I keep seeing lots of praise for Nova. Now I am wondering if there is something about Nova that I overlooked. Besides folders in the app drawer and being sold outside of the market, what is it about Nova that you all like so much?
thanks

I liked Nova because of the homescreen transitions. I know its not the best reason. Also, I was on an AOKP ROM for a while and purchased prime.
I think the acronym "HD" lured me into Holo, but I didn't see any noticable differences in appearance. I only tried it out for about an hour though.
I really really really wish that ADW would make an ICS/JB launcher...
Thank for sharing!

In my case it was the ability to use the home key to open the drawer and have folders in the drawer. Also, it's not ugly and has many customizable things

SEARCH for ULTIMATE LAUNCHER APP

Since the inception of mobile cellular phones with digital color displays, the main home screen has been based on the same basic principal:
A page (or pages) of icons that takes the user to a particular application or tool.
However, this modern day and age, with the evolution of technology and the introduction of the SMART phone - the user interface has not evolved.
With touch screen technology and large screen size on our everyday smart phones, should there be some evolution in the same old icons of applications?
I, ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS, ARE IN SEARCH OF THE ULTIMATE ANDROID HOME SCREEN LAUNCHER.
It can be a home screen launcher app, or a combination of widgets or mods, that make a superb, smart and intuitive user experience.
Looking for? Criteria? Ideals?
Something like "Flow Home" app launcher with Google Now Screen, Flipboard/Blink feed live feed and with widgets that are more like interactive apps. A personal assistant-like AGENDA page, a pebble-like timeline information. Quick google search. Quick launch favorites app - like PIE control. Smart auto categorized apps into easy access folders.
Is there a launcher that has the ability to fully integrate an app such as facebook or flipboard as one "full screen" page? That would be amazing. I would have Google Now or some smart agenda assistant app as the default home page, swipe left is facebook, swipe right is flipboard, and if i do some gesture swipe i get my apps organized by smart or frequency or favourites.
I've tried and tested majority of the well known launchers:
Aviate Launcher - excellent!, my current launcher - looking for smarter/better
Flow Home Launcher - excellent, my second go to launcher - i like their favorites app, PIE control-like button and their "news feed"
Google Now Launcher - basic but i like the google now page and it's "smart" information, and it's integration with google calender, keep as i use this constantly
Nova, APEX, Hola and equivalent - bland, very customization but too simple of rows and columns!
GoLauncher - dislike heavy on colour/animation/memory/cpu usage with same results as NOVA, APEX etc.
ActionLauncher - like NOVA but like their widgets on right-swipe page
SmartLauncher - quick start is all that it offers, smart categories all home screen apps have
