I love Fallout, and games in general. I think many of the users here on XDA love em too, and if ya like games, then there's a good chance you like Fallout 3.
What I'm proposing is for some themer to make a complete Fallout 3 Theme. A complete theme would include font, icons, wallpapers.. The whole theme shebang. It would have to be an actual, workable theme that captured the aesthetic, as described below, of the Fallout universe. If you've actually played it, it's a very specific look and feel.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must at least be compatible with launcherpro, since everyone can use it
2. Must take effort and not appear to be haphazard
3. Should have all the proper theme elements, including, but not limited to:
a. icons
b. wallpapers
c. taskbar pulldown mods
d. dock(s)
e. font

6. green/terminal ui style like in number 4 ^^^
7. A boot animation/splash screen with similar pictures/adds as loading on Fallout 3

The way fallout 3's devs described the scenery and theme was something like a 1940s and 50s golden age version of the world, but then drastically splitting off from there due to a huge nuclear boost, and aesthectially adapting from that point. Wasted areas, hilarious "duck and cover" type propaganda, and pip boy/vault boy cover fallout, I'd say.

I would love to see this happen. I would prefer Sense and over LP but it would be nice to have both.
Small note I am running Adrynalynes FrankenROM EVO port test ROM with EVO framework on my HTC Incredible. I can flash and use most EVO themes. I will be more than happy to pitch in $5 rather it works or not for me because I think its a great idea

with fall out new vegas coming out in about a month you may want to look for thins to include new vegas or be new vegas inspired as well. I am sure it will be great and woudl hate to see someone put in the work jsut to have people posting they want a new vegas version in a month.

I do to, but these themers figure if they can make money, then why not? Plus if they are going to work on a theme for free, they'll work on their main one in order to get donations, because it would reach a wider audience. Not slamming themers, I'm just a realist.
If you have ideas, post em! I'll get them in the OP, then if someone does decide to you will get what you want. I have one guy who says he probably will (read the first page).

the theme can basically make the phone a pip-boy lol. i dont know about you, but i thought the pip boy was awesome in the game, a little wristband device that also has a flashlight!

ABK hit the nail on the head when he said that the themes done for free are the ones that were working on as our main ones.
Regardless my point it pretty clear, and if u choose not to accept it, then that's on you. However, don't challenge things, especially blatant ones just for the sake of it.

Hey guys, I've finally got around to updating this. Enjoy!
This was made on damagecontrol2.0v7, but should work on any of the new time with the 2,1 framework.
I have included the wallpaper in the zip, it is on the sdcard in a folder called wallpaper. it will show up in the wallpaper selection screen if you press:
menu-wallpaper-photos-wallpaper
I also included the standard font (in a folder called font on the sdcard) should you decide you don't like the one I included. (there is a whole thread on how to do this, so use the search function and we'll all be happier )
I don't intend on modding this for individuals, but if enough people want something changed, I can probably be influenced.
This should not interfere with LWP if you use them.

That was the easy part. Animations are in framework-res.apk. Just make sure you know what you are overwriting.

Nah, I've got thick skin when it comes to what others think of my work. I just love a good joke.I really do appreciate all the feedback, too. I was trying to step outside of the box a little and go a different direction than what I'd seen previously. I also wanted to really make the launcher my own. I think the way it turned out may be what I'm most proud of. I actually started from a clean, transparent for it, and every pixel is mine. I do happen to agree with Mike, in that the screen shots really don't show it off properly. I actually LIKE the lockbar on this one.

Probably a stupid question (please don't flame me if it is) but do you think this would work on RegawMODv1.3.1? His is based on Damageless Rom.
No flames here. But I really don't know. It SHOULD work on any of the DC2.0r2 mods, as long as they kept all the same framework. But I don't know for sure. Only one way to find out, eh? ;p

Hey, my phone was awake 100% of the time with your rom, I put the full version on. Anything I could try to not have it at 100% awake time? Was draining the battery like nothing, so I had to go to a backup because I was at work with no charger.
HOWEVER, I did get my phone setup how I liked it with your rom, and just waiting for some advice on the awake time to revert back to it! Thanks in advance.

As far as having info on the battery situation, honestly, no. I did not change any of the functionality of Damageless' Rom, no memkiller settings.....nothing. I was working directly in the download from the main thread. The only operational difference between this and dc2.0r2 are the animations (which must be turned on manually, BTW). Check the main thread, cause I think I remember others talking about the same thing. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten more than 8 hours out of a battery w/o charging on any Rom since February, so I'm not the best judge. (i'm also online on my phone roughly 6 solid hours a day, so there ya go, mystery solved). I'm not trying to be flippant or blow you off or anything like that, I just don't know. But I also can't think of anything I did that should effect the battery life.
*just checked my battery, I'm at 9.5 hours up, 4:15 awake, which is probably accurate, since I was on the net for over 2 straight hours this afternoon.
Had a bunch of inquiries about my theme so I did a video demo/tutorial. Let me know how you like it

I checked out your video though, and it looks like a good tutorial though. The widgets kind of messed up the iphone-look at the beginning, but those of course can be removed.

I don't really feel it looks like an iPhone, especially with the widgets, but some people do. I didn't theme it like this to be an iPhone, but simply for functionality. But again thanks for the feedback. Its not for everyone.

Anyways, nice tutorial OP. I remember back when I had my Touch 6900, I wanted nothing BUT for it to look like the Iphone. I'm glad that this O.S. doesn't leave me feeling the same way.

He must be one of those people who goes around on stuff posting that iphones are crap and that he isnt your average user cause he reads the threads here yet doesnt contribute and doesnt know wth is going on half the time unless ti is spelled out step by step by step 100 times. (i see them all over specially amazon reviews now a days)

Nothing is wrong with using iPhone icons. different developers on Android use so many different sizes and shapes. It looks better with all the icons being the same size and shape. To sit here and bash anyone for liking iPhone's look, is just wrong.

main thing that makes me stay on launcher pro is..... the counters. Can't beat knowing exactly how many unread/miss notifications I have. Also different dock backgrounds are nice too.
to touch on the point of anyone BASHING a look, device, icons,theme, etc....... It's wrong. This sit is basically (in a nut shell) helping one another get our phones exactly how we want it. If I perfer iPhone icons, notification bar, etc..... I have every right to make it that way and share with others on here.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they attacked you. In fact, Apple products are generally known to be the most aesthetically pleasing, but fail in terms of customizations. I think having the look of an iphone but the feel and freedom of an android is actually a great thing.
However, I'm not a fan of the iphone's layout, but I know a lot of folkes are...so very nice again

The notification bubbles on the dock, easily customizable dock icons, multiple docks (16 icons total), the 3d app drawer effect, that's all i can think of for right now, i came from an iphone so i don't want to make my evo look like one but great video dude! thanks for giving back to the community.

I defiantly agree with what is said above. The notification number on the docks is very cool as well as being able to customize the dock background and icons on the dock to your liking. The 3d app window is kind of cool though i don't normally have it on. You can set it to do 5 vertical rows instead of 4. If you set 5 vertical you can also have it stretch 4x4 icons to be 4x5 if you want which is pretty nice.
the dock can be set to have 1-3 dock sets allowing you to scroll through docks as well as windows if that's your thing (i only use 1 dock so no scrolling for me). The paid version of the app gives you a very sense like people contact and bookmark widgets.
Those are the things I think are mostly unique to launcher pr (haven't used ADW in a while to see if it has any of these features now). It is definitely my favorite launcher at the moment

EDIT: 2-19-2011 I will be attempting to port this to Liberty 1.5... Will see how it goes
UPDATE: 12/24/2010 I have had one or two people request some update/files on this, so I have attached the framework and facebook .apk files. I started working on porting a Tron theme for the X, so since I didn't have a lot of feedback, I had sort temporarily given up on this theme.

So I'm working on porting over the black glass 24K theme I saw for the original droid using the ultimate droid rom/theme.
This will prob take me some time, as I'm brand new to the theme scene when it comes to creating my own. If you are interested let me know and I will post updates and post my work return I'm done.
Again, this may take some time as this is a just a hobby...
Thnx to.the orig creators of this! I need to find the names and update!

This will probably just be for the stock OTA (2.3.15) until I get better with theming. Plus right now, that's what I'm running on my X.

Hm... I can continue working on this when I get some time. I didnt really get a lot of feedback from people so I stopped working on it.

The developer for this theme was a guy named Cuttalott, over on Droid Forums. He created this theme back in the Summer as a favor to myself and another member named StingRay. We both had fond memories of a similar theme done about a year ago for the Cyanogen rom by a guy named KrazyKrada (or something similar to that), who I contacted before Cuttalott released his take on the theme. KK indicated that he wasn't interested in moving to the froyo base for his theme, and gave his blessing to anyone who wished to do the gold & black theme.
Cuttalott released it and it was fairly popular for the froyo Droid 1 users. In late August, Cuttalott abruptly disappeared. I tried numerous times to contact him, as did StingRay, but neither of us had a home phone number for him. I tried contacting the administrators of Droid Forums, and they (who I presume had his home phone number or address) tried for several weeks. Cuttalott remains missing, and I personally fear the worst, because he was always such an attentive guy, who responded VERY quickly to any requests or reports of problems with his themes (he had several other themes, beside this one), and someone like that just doesn't decide abruptly "I've had enough of this, and I'm leaving now". He would have at least said good-bye to his friends. He disappeared without a trace, and no one over on DF has heard a word from him since. As I said earlier, I fear the worst, but there's no real way for me track him down.
In any event, Droid Forums essentially considers his work to be in the public domain, however a guy named xkape over there is doing his best to keep Cuttalott's work in the public eye, porting the various themes to new roms as they're released, and always crediting Cuttalott as the creator.

Ultra, thanks for the info. I will see if I can find some time to work on this in the near future. TO all others who may watch/check this thread.
i'm die hard for android, but not the way some of the devs/themers here are. I kinda took a break from it because I have a lot going on outside of android (work, girlfriend, travel for work, etc). I will try and set some time aside to pick this back up. I will have to start over from scratch since I updated and was doing this on the 2.3.15 OTA.
What ROM do most people use? I will try to make it for something most people use like LIberty 1.5, but it may take some time, as I don't have as much free time as I would like to spend porting this, and am still learning to theme myself.
Wish me luck, and I will see what I can do in the near future =)
PS sorry for the delay on this.

Thats cool was just checking I think this theme would be a very good one especially since blue red and green are totally over done and this would add a knew look to things.
Hey sysadmin, if ya don't mind I will port this to apex 1.4.x, I found the other gold themes and will he adding touches of all them as well. I just wanted to let ya know its a great color combo. I am tired of ginger/honey themes. I've done orange for apex and ported nextheme to it as well but gold and black looks awesome.

I think that you might not be well placed to know what a developer is or not. Also, I think that there is one rule: Never insult what other people are doing, you don't know at all what are the skills of the people here, and i think you forgot that people are doing work here on their free time, just to make their phone better and share their work.
And I think so that "releasing only if people thank me", is kind of childish, as I said before, we're here to share our work.

That's nonsense. Black only saves battery if the display type is OLED (AMOLED). The G3 display isn't of this type. That sheds some light on the technical quality to be expected, IMHO.
They talk about bandwidth hosting, but I straight up used all of my 100GB of bandwidth in about two weeks for xda. Why are they asking for that? There's not a single custom ROM thread in which anything similar is asked.

Lol no really. I wanted to compare speeds.
So, we all know that statistically, XDA has a higher number of male members than it does female members... Many themes are either designed to peak a "general" interest, or that of the fellas mostly... So... I get my phone on Wednesday, March 30th... and the question is...

The only things you'll likely have some issues with is the gold card hiccups or hack kit errors at least from my end that was the case but keep at it because once its done no more worries ever.
Remember those FCs that occasionally would come up on our HTC Dreams? They are NON EXISTENT on the Inspire4G.

Alright, My wife will not come off her iphone and this may be one way to do it. She would be running CM7 so it needs to be for desire based roms, i think. I dont have any pictures or anything. But circle battery with % pink somewhere, wait its got to be pink anywhere and everywhere. Different shades of pink on black. Get the idea, pink and black? LOL I unfortunately will have to install this on my phone so she can see it. But that ok. She also loves the pink diagonal burberry pattern.

So... a Pink and Black (Burberry) will be in the works. I'll get this taken care of over the next few days. (Still learning the Inspire...Came from a G1)
I'm not going to theme EVERYTHING, just the major stuff...task bar, icons, check boxes, etc.. That way it's not a sensory overload, and *should* be flashable on any ROM. ;-)

I am currently using ADW skinned with yOrk's Pink ADW theme and I love it but I really miss some of the Sense features it lacks. It's great that I can swith back & forth between the two though. I would LOVE to see a pink & black HTC skin!! There is a devolper from ppcgeeks, Sprintgirl who has an awesome theme for EVO. It would be amazing if someone could create a compatible version for the Inspire! I have attached a picture of Sprintgirl's theme (1st attachment) as well as the ADW theme I am currently using (2nd & 3rd attachments) along with Bobclock3D (awesome customizable clock widget). Thanks again for taking an interest in what women want!

So I decided I'd do just a test task bar real quick to make sure my normal method works on the Inspire as well. And it does...

i agree- pink.pink.pink would make me happy. i came from hd2 where i had it grrrled out- especially with lunie's awesome theme. i also dig purple. right now- i am into zebra prints either pink or purple. thank you for giving attention to us ladies. very nice...

I currently own a Captivate, but I am planning on getting the Inspire in the next few weeks.
I saw a video of the new Sense, and it is simply unbelievable!!!
So I definitely wanna give it a try!!
There are a couple of themes in the Captivate and I9000 forums that are gorgeous!!! Both come in different colors.
Here's the link for generation X. I flashed the pink one and it is sooo pretty!! It is a hot pink theme, but it is very subtle.

This one is the one I am running right now. it is inspired in the Sense UI. I flashed the Purple Honey and it is both gorgeous and classy. A very elegant theme.

I posted the links not because i want the themes ported, but because I wanted to show you what I'd like to see in a theme (colors, icons, etc).
Thanks soooo much for thinking about us (YES! there's a good number of women who are very capable and enjoy a lot this sport!).

I like those themes quite a bit actually! ...Ladies, sorry I haven't updated this in a bit. A lot has been going on, and I got halfway through the theme and decided to scrap it.
I AM STILL WORKING ON A THEME FOR THE LADIES
I scraped it because I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing, and the colors began to not match. The shades of pink were clashing, and not in a good way.
Sooo..... I am starting over on this. I have learned quite a bit more about theming. And have learned what I can and can't do... So, with that said.. Please be patient with me.
