Hi guys
Anyone know of an app that will turn wi-fi on after a set amount of time, keep the connection for a set amount of time, then kill it untill the next cycle?
Basically, say wi-fi on every 15 mins and kept on for 1min, then turned off for another 15 mins

I think the interval is set to low and is killing my battery, also how can I set it so when I turn the screen off it turns the wifi off faster
-You can't make it faster. but some wifi app can scan every 1-3-5 sec or more just use them if you find the default scan time is too low.
-Just shut it down when you don't need it. Way better then waiting for the sleep policy to kick in.
Did some searches but I dont know if i wasn't looking right. in the interest of saving the battery life is there any program that randomly turns wifi on searches for unsecured networks and if it doesn't find any shuts it off, would be cool if it did that like every 10-15 minutes. My GF has an issue forgetting to shut her wi-fi off and then the battery drains.
Is this sort of request an impossible implementation or is there something out there that negates the need for it?
at minimum some sort of tool that would shut of WiFi automatically if no "unsecured" signal is present for 3 minutes or so.
Hi
I made a tasker profile, to turn mobile data off 10 minutes and then on 10 minutes later when screen is off.
I did this to save some battery, but then I got the thought, that disabling and then enabling it 10 minutes later (the connection to cell) would drain more battery, than just letting is stay on.
Is that right or will it actually save battery?
Thanks in advance
When using OTG connection and USB Debugging, after 10 minutes if not in use, it automatically turns off, which is annoying especially in Android development where we use our phones to test the app. It needs to be turned on again every now and then. Is there a way to disable the future that automatically turns it off? Or at least change the value from 10 minutes to like 1 hour or greater?
Did you find any fix to this? It is annoying
Dear all
I would like save battery life on WiFi. Is there a way I can schedule WiFi on/off at certain interval? Example: Turn on WiFi for 1 minutes then turn it off for 10 minutes and repeat these 2 steps indefinitely.
There are several automation apps on the play store that should be able to do this but using an automation app will cause you problems. The problem will be that when you want to turn it on for an extended period of time it will turn off at the next interval, so you might be in the middle of something and then it turns off. Have you looked at how much battery your WiFi is using? Settings>Battery>(and for me I touch the battery at the top) It shows my battery usage, charging spikes, how long it's been since a full charge and below that everything that is using battery and at what percentage by group. i.e. Apps, Mobile network standby, System, Phone idle, Bluetooth and WiFi. My WiFi is on 24/7 and is currently sitting at 0% 6 hours after being taken off the charger. Just saying. Tasker is probably one of the best automation apps, but it's a paid app and has a bit of a learning curve. There are some that are simpler for free that will likely work.
