[Q] Creating a pattern lock apk? - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

I was just wondering, so many people (including me) are complaining about the original swipelock thingy and only want the pattern lock.
Why not create a replacement app like flyscreen but just a pattern lock replacement, and use no lock (or maybe even implement it)... i think many people would buy it, i know i would!
Unfortunately i'm not a dev so I won't make money from such a project, has anyone thought about it?

I don't mind the swipe lock as it's plain and simple.

It's not bad (it's actually great far better than the iphone one for instance), it's just i would much apreciate using pattern lock without the swipe, i'm not a dev and thought this was a way to do it... since there are many threads about the subject leading us to weird lockers replacing the swipe one, maybe one could create a replacement lock but being a "simple" pattern lock. I was just wondering (and hoping) if this was actually possible.

Is there a way to change the HD2 lock icon?

I would love to use my own icons for my lock. But I really enjoy the rest of the lock screen for instance the touching of the lock icon which unveils the received calls, mail and sms. So is there a possibility of doing this myself?

Not sure about doing it yourself, but this thread could be a good start^^.
Real pitty but seems no one explains how to make one yourself.

[Req] FingerPrint Lock Screen

I wonder if there is a similar program like this, but for Windows Mobile instead?
I know mobile phone touch screen is not capable of reading fingerprints. But I'm sure it is capable of recognising how long the finger is resting on the screen.
looks very nice...would be cute to have such application as lock screen
I love it!
It's novel, cute, and simple.
I remember a thread a week or so about this as well and do'nt remember ever seeing anything come of it. I myself would like to see something like this for Windows Mobile. I think it would be really cool to be able to incorporate it into S2U2 so maybe A_C can hook us up with this option instead of the slide to unlock in a future build? I maybe just dreaming here though.

Making your own Lockscreen?

Is it possible on android to make your own lockscreen from scratch, or at least a custom combination type thing because I've had an idea for something that would be nicer then a numeric lock but less of a failure then pattern.
* In retrospect I probably should've scrolled down to android section, oh well.
Yes, is possible but you must know programing in java..
Been doing java for a couple years, could you point me to a reference or something that its been done before?
Well, you could go learn Java programming language and go from there, or you can use an app called WidgetLocker. It's free in the Play Store but there is also a paid version available for purchase. With this App you can change the slider on your lock screen and also add widgets like you would on your homescreen. You can also add app shortcuts to it. If you'd like to download more slider options go to this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=968613
There are hundreds of options to choose from. Just download it to your computer then drag it into your phones SD card and it should show up in the slider options. I hope this helps you out!
Y'know I know you probably want to get your 10 posts going and all but I see nothing in your reply that has anything to do with the original statement.
Sorry EphemeralMirage if no one has been of great help to you lately, I think he was just trying to help you and he was just trying to be nice. He didn't clearly understand your question, but being a bit nice to others would help in this forum.
You should probably check this guide out, have a look at it and see if it looks like what you need.

Thanks that looks like what I'll reference, as soon as I get the source stuff hammered out and all.
If you are looking to actually create your own way to unlock the screen
that is different than taking a stock method and changing the graphic.
It was something that I was going to look into, but I haven't got that far.
In the Nook, the screen unlockers are implemented in /system/framework/android.policy.jar
There are apparently three of them already:
LockScreen - the standard slide to unlock
LockPinKeyguardView - a four digit pin
LockPatternKeyguardView - apparently a pattern lock
So theoretically just use the source for that, add in yours and see what happens?
Then again that might be easier said then done, into AOKP I go!

LockScreen Wallpaper

Hi,
Few days back I was going through the forums and found a guy who created very nice lock-screen wallpapers for the pattern lock. It was pretty much impressive. I am sorry I am unable to find it now to do a reference.
As my email policy doesn't allow pattern lock but only either PIN or Alphanumeric Password, I couldn't use those. So, I created one for myself. I am sorry it is just the initial/first step. I don't have good tools with me, nor enough time to put all the creativity in it. I just used MSPaint for this.
Am sure some of you can use it and few of you can customize it to add more flavor.
Just save the attached file and set it as lock screen on the PIN Lock.

There are plenty of these types of lock screens on the play store. "Go locker" is one of the more well known ones.
