Hot to delete from /sdcard/download - Captivate General

I installed adobe reader and downloaded some PDF. It says they are downloaded in /sdcard/download. How do I delete them using phone interface or do I have to use adb?

Try myfiles, that may help you.

using adb for installing stock apps

sorry if this has been asked a lot, i have tried searching and need some help.
I flashed the latest Axura, and hate the music app installed in it. So i found the stock samsung music player, and tried to install it in the /system/app folder via Astro file manager, but i can't paste or cut anything that's not in the sd card.
so i tried adb. i couldn't push anything to the system/app folder as my permission was denied, so i copied the apk to the sd card, then i went into adb shell and used su to copy the file into the /system/app folder. that worked, but when i did that i lost the music player icon totally.
if i go to my music files on the sd card they will play individually, so the player must be installed, i just have to icon to boot into the player.
any help would be appreciated!

copy to your sdcard
adb shell
su
(accept the prompt on your screen)
cd /sdcard/whereveryoustuckfile
cp blahblahblah.apk /system/app/
I did that, and the music player apj is in the folder now, but its not in my application drawer. I have tried to install it from there but it fails everytime as well. I can always reflash the axura rom but I would like the stock player back!

how to install an apk that has "com.appname" as file name?

I've tried to install a few apps like the google app that is named "com.googlemusicbeta.apk" and I've noticed that everytime I try and load an app that starts with com.name, I can't install it; I get an error.
Is there something I don't know about this?
They need to be installed as system apps. The do this using either adb or terminal emulator and push the files to system/app.

Dowload dolphin browser HD. That will allow you to download any type of file and it is an awesome browser to use.
Astro File Manager
Install Astro File Manager from the market. Go to preferences and check the box for "Enable Browser Downloads"
Wow thanks guys.

There is an app in the market that will allow you to donwload almost any type of file-it's called Download All Files. I don't like the Astro file manager so I installed this one insted and it worked fine.

Download/save APK from appstore

Is there an easy way to pull apps (apk) from appstore (google, amazon) and save it in a dir?

Get an file manager like es file explorer. Go under app manager and it will list all installed apps. Long press and choose backup. It will then be in a folder called backup on your SD card.

Just copy the apk file from /data/app
Es file explorer great option. I allow app monster pro to backup mine automatically. It achieves all versions of any given apk if the auto setting is checked.
Appmonster will save all your apps as apk into a back up folder on your sd card.

How about trying a different browser?
clean Rom/xda powerd by zero-lemon & tweaked out!!
Whether issue is with not able to download apk files or installing the apk files?
It is with bringing apk file on phone. If coming from pc I have to rename it to a zip file. It like the phone doesn't recognize the file type.

Phone is rooted also.

If the file is renamed to zip. Then when you completed copying file from pc to phone again rename the file with apk extension.
I. E. If you have abc.apk and you rename to abc.zip while copying to phone, then rename file to abc.apk and install it
Thanks doesn't hurt....
I know that thanks for your help though but I hope I fixed it. After rebooting phone several times it dawned on me to unmount and remount sd card. Tried it and worked. We'll see if it worked 100%. Lol
