Baseball Superstar 2010 - Android Apps and Games

Hello there!
I installed the baseball superstar 2010 app by clicking a loose .apk that I've put onto my sd-card on my HTC Hero, and now I am wondering, where my saved season results are being stored. Or any save-files for that matter. I cannot find any result of this game on my phone.
Does anyone know where I need to look (and what app do you use to browse your files btw?) Would like to know if anyone has ever succeeded in editing these results too. And how, ofcourse

you can download astro file manager, you can search everything on your phone.

Hi there. Thanks for the tip. I think I have the location. I thought originally that it would unpack and install in some kind of folder, like all games do when you install them on a normal desktop. But.... with astro, when I click on the .apk file which I also used (I think) to install it on my phone, it asks me: browse file or open app manager. So I think the place to be is 'browse file'.
But then..... I always assumed, that my savegame, or my own personalised player would be stamped with the date of today, or yesterday, when I last played the game. But I cannot find anything recent. And there are filetypes my phone doesnt recognise, like: mpl, dat, and ptc.
So now my question is: how can I view these files on my desktop pc (because I cannot seem to browse the .apk file there) and do you have any idea which one I should try to open???

if it's in a cab format than copy the cab to your device and install the cab from your device.
Send it over to your device from your commputer either throubh activesinc (when connected) or WIFI for those who have it, or Bluetooth.
Over Activesinc - Just connect device to computer (Assuming activesinc already installed and set up - if not then do so) then go to my computer, find mobile device and explore it as you would any drive. Then you can just find where you want to place the cab for installation on your device - I create a folder called install - and copy and paste it to the folder- once the cab is on your device - just tap on it to start installing it.
I have noticed that through WIFI, I can just go to view the shared folder on my desktop with my device over the network, click on the cab and it installs on the device even though the cab is not on the device but only on the desktop.
Thank you for the information. I cannot find cab. What does cab mean? This is my first all microsoft phone with vista laptop. I just don't understand the terms.
If I extract a cab file, what have I just done? Where is it at at that point? I know that eventually I want it on my phone. What is the next step toward delivery on the phone? When I check the windows mobile device center there is nothing there to import? to phone. Is there a missing step somewhere between the cabinet file extact and the windows mobile device center? I'm trying to think this through.
Don't extract it, just copy. You are "exporting" not importing.
Go here for how to install a cab
Exactly = Don't do anything with the cab except for transfer it to your device. On your desktop a cab looks like a zip file or a rar file. You might be tempted to unpack it but don't - All you will see is a bunch of stuff that doesn't make sense- Just send it to your device and then tap on it or click it to start installation. Most apps are in cab form; however, some are in exe form and must be installed to your device via your computer through activesinc. Just check the extension - it will either be .cab or .exe
I think I might have sent it to my phone, there were 6 files and when I attempted to send to my phone it said send to phone documents. Where is the phones documents at? I am looking in programs and settings on my phone and I don't see the documents. How can I know where I or if I sent it? Man, I can't believe I've worked all day on this.
stop thread please. I give up. Thank you all who really tried to help me.
Ronald Quint -Documents is in the first tier of folders - Just open file explorer and if you need to click the up soft key (bottom left of screen) then scroll until you see documents - There is also storage card documents if you search through your storage card. I created a special folder just for sending files over, and then move them around afterwards. I created a folder called "install" and send my cabs there. Then I just have to navigate (using file explorer) to the install folder and there is everything I just sent over - Music I send to my music folder however, and movies to my movies folder - to save time. It sounds like you unpacked the cab and sent the files to your device. What you can do is
1. using your computer - open the cab to see what is inside
2. using your device - use search to find each individual file which was sent to your device. (you will find them all in the same place)
then start deleting them
(you could just forget it and leave them be (it shouldn't cause any harm) and just resend the cab to your device (pay attention to where you are sending it. - use file explorer to navigate to where you sent the cab and then click it to install.. Once installed - you can delete the cab from your device.

[Q] Where do the files i download from IE go to?

Today I downloaded a zip file which contained some songs. I downloaded them from mediafire using my HTC hd7 which worked perfectly and I could play these songs. The problem arose when I wanted to play them again but was unable to because I could not find them. I tried using file explorer and looked in the temp folder but was unable to find them. Does anyone know where I would be able to found it?

Really? We can do that?
Surprisingly yes however if u close it you won't be able to find it again
Bump anyone know?
i have a same problem but i have 2 problem like this. first one is where is going file when download from explorer and the second one is from email attached files ??
It depends on the type of file
Documents you can do a save as and make them available in the office hub
Pictures are available in the picture hub
I don't believe you can save music and videos, those are likely being stored in temporary internet cache that you don't have access to. If the zip file was in your email, you'd be able to open it again from the email attachment (potentially without having to download it again).
That's quite retarded, why would no Microsoft staff notice these simple issues. Like the copy and paste feature....shouldn't that come with the phone without the need of an update:/
Like Apple with iTunes, they want you to handle your media with the Zune software.
I can't understand why Microsoft follow Apple?
Until WM6.5 we where kings and now with WM7 we are starting to walk again like a 2year old baby.
Because everyone liked iPhone and nobody liked WM6.5
And so Microsoft think why not to lock my new 7version so people just follow me too!!!mmmmmmmmmm
In file manager, navigate to \Application Data\Volatile\EmailAttachments\Attachments(Numbers)\

Goto \Windows\profiles\guest\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
You'd find your file(s) in one of the folders with funny/coded names along with other Internet Explorer cache files.
Note that the \Windows\profiles\guest folder also contains other IE temp data (such as History and Cookies) should you also need them for whatever reason.

[Q] Renaming Files and Folders

Hi all,
Loving my Optimus 3D but can't seem to work out how to rename files and folders. I know once you have taken a photo it gives you the option to Rename, but I was wondering how I could go back and rename photos and video files, and folders from before (without connecting to my computer). Anyone know?
Also can you create folders within the phone for content? And can you organize content in the Applications section, e.g. sorting Downloads in order or placing them in different categories.
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers

To rename files and folders and create folders on your phone you'd have to have an explorer app that allows you to browse your filesystem. I'm not aware of any browser apps that don't require root (ie. Astro or Root Explorer) but then again, I've never had the need for one and always had my phones rooted.
You might wanna be carefull when renaming folders and files though.
I don't think the standard launcher allows changing the contents of the applications drawer.
Thanks for the response, appreciate it. At the risk of sounding like a total noob, what do you mean when you say having your phone rooted? I'm total new to smart phones and always just had an old simple mobile.
Also, is the Optimus 3D like the iPhone in that you need to hack it to install apps downloaded from your PC for free or can you install any apps via PC
get "estrongs file explorer". it's free and does many many many more amazing things than just letting you rename files without root requirement.

Rooting a phone basically gets you super access, kind of like having an administrator account on Windows. It comes in handy for example when you want to use custom roms, get complete file access, use screenshot tools etc.
And an Android phone is in no way an iPhone when it comes to installing apps. There's an option that when turned on allows the installation of apps you didn't get from the Market (it's in the Application section of your options menu). Presuming you only use free programs you downloaded you can just put the .apk file on your internal or external sd card and install it, either by using a file browser (such as the mentioned Estrong) to find the apk or using a separate app installer which you can download from the Market.
Awesome, thanks for the reply really appreciate it, and I actually understand it now.
So if I downloaded and installed an app or game from the internet for free, that usually had to be bought on the Android market or from Gameloft for example, could you get in trouble or banned/blocked in any way?
Sorry if this is a noob/inappropriate question
Cheers
no. google actiually lets you do what you want with your device.
Awesome, good to know. I'm really wanting the Gangstar games from gameloft but they aren't available to purchase via Gameloft yet. I can download the pirated versions and install them, but would Gameloft cause any problems when I did so or would I always have to play in airplane mode?
Most pirated software works just like the original version, just check if there's any installation instructions. The biggest disadvantage in my opinion is not being able to update pirated software through the Market.
You can use Polaris Office included in the phone as file explorer for all the naming, copying etc.. The name is a bit misleading
Nice, I didn't know that Polaris was a glorified file browser. Works great for viewing, editing and removing files and folders.
So, to the topicstarter, this is all you need to do the things you want. You can edit your filesystem and browse to your downloaded apps to install them (for example create a map called DownloadedApps, connect your phone to your pc, copy any downloaded apps to the map you created, disconnect, use Polaris to browse to the DownloadedApps map and click on any app you want to install).
If you want to rename a file or folder just long press on it and you'll be presented with all the options you need.
Yeah, I just had a play around with it, looks and works really good. Thanks for all the help folks much appreciated.
PS - If anyone could provide instructions and a link on how to install the Gangstar games (hereby showing me how to install ripped games at the same time) I would very much appreciate it. Been having no luck getting it to work

Play Music doesn't find "straight" transfered music files [SOLVED]

Hi, (sorry for approx. english speaking i'm realllllly tired at this time)
i was used to load music files into my device using windows explorer and it was good...
then i flushed all files, in order to listen to other songs, so i loaded new music files the same way, but Google Play Music acts as if there was nothing in the gallery...
Finally i've managed to make it work using an android file manager (moborobo).
I'm not ok with that because i would prefer not having to use that program and be able to transfer files directly with windows explorer, it's more simple and doesn't require to install third party app into my device...
If someone can help me with that i'd be grateful.
EDIT/solution:
ok, now i feel a little shameful for this post because the solution was (kind of) described in another forum...
----> a .nomedia file has been created in main storage (really don't know how!?) so...i don't even understand how the android file manager could add music in the gallery. Deleting this .nomedia file solved my issue, everything works as it should now. Really happy to uninstall moborobo!!!
I don't delete the message because it could help someone in the future (hope so).

kindle RCE plugin, hidden files.

I saw this on my device, and only found little info/threads, with almost zero content/analysis. Aparently the kindle app leaves a bunch of random files around. And since the prefix is "RCE" i am a little paranoid, since that usually means "Remote code execution" and is usually associated with exploits

All Attached in a zip created by the android native file manager.

How to make those files appear for you:
Install kindle from the google app store
if you already have it installed, or want to see the files again after you deleted, Stop the app and delete all storage. (nothing will be lost, this app syncs everything and some more to the amazon servers)
perform the first Sync on kindle app
Now, insert a pen drive and open the native android File Mananger and look at the local Download folder
Files are somewhat hidden:
If you look into the download folder with any other app (I tried, blackberry file manager, oi file manager, Ghost Commander, and Termux --after enabling the storage setup)
Files probably have a weird attribute or ownership... but the native android file manager does not show anything other than creation date! And every single file operation (copy, move, compress) reset the information to "regular user, creation time set to now". So either I see them on the Native File Manager, without any information available, or I do not see the files until I destroy the information.
Android version is not important (seems to happen on several versions) and has been happening for a while (First mention seems to be Nov2018)
Anyone have any idea what this is? I know I will probably reverse eng the kindle app at some point, wast a bunch of time, and realize it is just some dumb amateur library badly implemented by amazon... or maybe not. I think at this point I am most curious as to how the app "hides" the files from most everything.
