I am using a development platform and I don't have the "android market" on my android desktop. I wonder if someone here can recommend a good website for me to download the apk file for the app I need. I can install them via adb. Thanks a lot.

HI guys i have my x10 running sweet now
I have created an app that uses the adp command to install apk android apps
i have found it very usefull and thought i would try and give something back to the people who have helped me in the forums!
Simply drang n drop onto the andriod and the apk files will install on your device it supports multiple drop as well!
i would like feedback ? and if you find it usefull you can donate to the email address via paypal.. (which i will use to contribute towards further dev of other android programs )
here is the link:
ok i wont let me post it
but it is
www dot mediafire dot com forward slash
?zxnyjimyktm
it is a .net app to run on windows so if it doesnt run check you have latest framework!
Same link but easier:
http://www.mediafire.com/?zxnyjimyktm
Anyway. It requires even .NET V4. So lemme go grab that first.
thank you
thanks for putting the link up:
has anyone found it usefull?

totally NOT WORKING.
Hello all, I am looking to see if anyone has the installer apk's for gapps, gmail, vending etc. for android 1.6. I'm trying to get a tablet up and running and I accidently deleted them. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!
Hi,
the easiest way would be to extract it from e.g. the CyanogenMod/DRC83 Base ROM.
DRC83: h*tp://dx.infernix.net/DRC83_base_defanged.zip
CM4: h*tp://n0rp.chemlab.org/android/update-cm-4.2.15.1-signed.zip
(Sorry for the links - I have'nt enough postings to publish URL's )
Extract the ZIP-File and search for the APK's in system/app. BTW: Which Tablet are you using? You could download the original ROM and extract it from there. I'm not sure if the Vending.apk/etc. from the HTC Dream runs on a tablet.. Theoretically - yes.
Greetings,
Nathan
A few questions:
1. How do I transfer an app into the emulator?
2. Is there any way to run .js / .html / .css project on Android devices?
3. Where can I find a good tutorial / thread / sticky about beginning Android development?
P.S. webOS news today sucks.

Sure html files can be opened with the stock browser, if the .js and .css files are part of the html page i think the browser will deal with them.

You obviously didnt use the search, let alone google .
The general questions&answers forums get this question a couple of times everyday too.
for android development, check this out:

I saw a You Tube vid by AdamOutler and he said to get Eclipse classic or something. But when I go to Google Developers they give me the latest version of Eclipse do I use classic or the one provided by Google?

You can use anything.
The one which is provided by Google is a complete package, where you don't have to setup the build environment like setting up ADT plugin etc. The IDE would be ready for application development I guess.
When you download Eclipse Classic (Latest version is 4.2.2 I guess) from their website (eclipse.org), you need to download the ADT plugin additionally within the IDE and download the developer tools and then have to connect it with Android SDK. The complete steps to install are there in the developer website, so its pretty much easy the either way.

I don't really understand the vocabulary you used. (Sorry, I'm new to Android development) Is there a place where I can learn all these terms and what they do? I understand SDK though.

You just start by reading from here, and you are good to go:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
If you already have downloaded SDK, go to this website and download the Eclipse 4.2.2 Classic IDE. And go to Youtube and search videos for "How to connect eclipse with android sdk". There should be a couple.
If you don't have anything, download the SDK+ADT Bundle for Windows displayed in Android developer website (The link which I gave you first) and read the instructions and you'll be good.
It's really not matter. I think the only different is the latest version in Google Dev that you can find is well packaged and you don't need to set up most of the environment stuff.

Yes, that's right.
It comes with Eclipse + Android SDK + ADT Plugin (Developer Tools) + Latest Android Platform (4.2.2 maybe) + System Image for Emulator
So you don't have to download the Android Platform and build tools additionally after getting the SDK, as everything would come in a single package.
Hi all, I've got a iPhone 11 max clone running Android. My issue is that there is no way for me to access developer tools to enable us debugging to unlock the phone.
It seems to be running a very basic android copy of IOS and has no settings or anything.
I want to root the phone to a usable state. Any ideas?
It has no recovery partition, I can access fastboot but I'm limited as to what I can do since USB debugging isn't enabled.
what is your android version in aida64 app or something?
do you have google play store to download the app? or can you install apks from for example apkmirror.com?
this is the app I am talking about
AIDA64 1.86 (Android 4.2+) APK Download by FinalWire Ltd - APKMirror
AIDA64 1.86 (Android 4.2+) APK Download by FinalWire Ltd - APKMirror Free and safe Android APK downloads
www.apkmirror.com
If your android version is 4.x or 5.0 then one click root apps might work (if you don’t have important data on it it will be fine)

@MazdaDad
Welcome to XDA. I hope you'll always get the support you require.
However, prior to your next posting please read the guidances that are stuck on top of every forum like
Note: Questions go in Q&A Forum
If you are posting a Question Thread post it in the Q&A forum. Technical discussion of Android development and hacking. No noobs, please. Device-specific releases should go under the appropriate device forum...
forum.xda-developers.com
and the others. I've moved the thread to General Q&A as an Apple device obviously doesn't fit into an Android forum. Thanks for your cooperation.

Does one click root apps work?
like
KingRoot (Android)
Root your Android device in a matter of seconds
kingroot.en.uptodown.com
Kingo ROOT (Android)
Root for Android 1.5 to 5.0
kingo-root.en.uptodown.com
(I hope I didn't violate forum rules by posting these, but they are quite popular so I doubt the rumor that they are virus. Else they will be swiftly taken down. Still, your own risk of installimg them.)
