Beautiful Widgets
Please PM me if you have purchased Beautiful Widgets and I'll send back the download link. You should probably forward a Paypal email showing the purchase or you could forward a screenie of your Market purchases. I don't want to give away someone else's hard work. This version is prior to the C&D that HTC gave LevelUp. There is also a Fancy Widget option included.
Metamorphing CM6
MM file can be found at the bottom of this post. The MM will change your fonts to Arial (including Clockopia.ttf) and change some images in framework and settings. This will not add the AOSP status bar and notifications. For the custom lockscreen background, refer to second post.
Music Widgets
Contained in update.zip at the bottom of this post. Minor graphic updates to the 4x1 and 4x2 music widgets.
DialerOne (updated to v1.2.6, refer to second post)
Contained in update.zip at the bottom of this post. Be sure to uninstall any previous versions as this will copy the APK to your system/app directory.
Weather Forecast Widgets
After getting everything just right with these widgets, I realized that not only are they not really accurate, but they chew up your battery. This is contained in a separate update.zip at the bottom of this post. Use at your own risk.
One ZIP file contains everything. Contents are as follows:
Step 1: Copy all folders to your SD card and apply images per below.
Desktop Visualizer folder - has the Estrongs, Market and XDA icons. Also includes a PSD template for the icon. This icon is twice the size and scaled down in LauncherPro to look crisp. Make sure you pick the Medium sized widget and rescale it.
LauncherPro folder - has (3) variations of the bottom bar skin (#1 is shown). Also has the background.jpg, which is set to not scroll in LauncherPro. Apply the images to your shortcuts in LauncherPro by selecting Custom Icon.
Pure Calendar Folder - has the image files necessary for the 4x1 calendar widget on the main screen. Just overwrite one of the stock themes on your SD card and reapply.
Step 2: Copy {whatever}-update.zip to the root directory of your SD card and apply in recovery.
s23-GTX-update.zip - Will install the following:
- Analog Clock Widget 1 (Samir Applications)
- Audio Manager (Smart Android Apps) - Divider lines removed
- DeskClock
- GenieWidget.apk (with HTC weather icons) - Divider lines removed
- DialerOne (Yermek Zhumagulov)
- Music
- OneClick (WeDroid)
- Scoreboard (Google) - Divider lines removed
Be sure to uninstall any previous versions as this will copy the APK to your system/app directory.
s23-GTX-fancy-update.zip - Will install Fancy Widgets.
s23-GTX-weather-update.zip - Will install Weather Forecast Widgets.
Step 3: Extract {whatever}-MM.zip file to SDcard/Android Themes/s23-GTX-MM and apply with Metamorph.
s23-GTX-MM.zip - Will change font to Arial and will edit some images in framework-res.
Get the ZIP file here NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP, READ ABOVE
Notes:
- Way too many people to thank. If your widget is shown, thanks. If your ideas are shown, thanks. Thanks to everyone in the universe. The only image file that was directly taken from GTX was the analog clock (I think). Thanks for that.
- I tried to accomplish the entire look with widgets so they could be used on other MDPI devices, regardless of ROM.
- I also did Metamorph for the frameworks since CM6 is changing nightly.
- Fancy Widgets update.zip has been added to the zip in the OP.
Custom Lockscreen wallpaper:
(Based on 08.23.10 CM6 nightly) I will update this based on nightlies. If the nightly doesn't change the xml file I modified, I won't post a new one. If you want to customize the wallpaper, edit the file in the framework-res/res/drawable-mdpi folder named create_contact.png. Thanks to ihtfp69. The lockscreen images and xml have been removed from the Metamorph in the main zip file (above).
If you want a light lockscreen with custom wallpaper like the one below, apply this Metamorph (don't let MM unzip the file, do it yourself)
If you want a dark lockscreen with custom wallpaper like the one below, apply this Metamorph (don't let MM unzip the file, do it yourself)
LauncherPro Widgets: (updated to v0.8.1.0)
Go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764797
Add-ons
GTX theme for Calendar, Contacts, Email, Messaging, Phone, Market and XDA. Apply this update.zip in recovery.
Metamorph with blue battery icons and to change everything from orange to blue. Apply this Metamorph (don't let MM unzip the file, do it yourself)
DialerOne v1.2.6
Updated DialerOne theme for v1.2.7.1. Make sure all other instances of DialerOne are uninstalled or removed (via ADB, file manager or Market) before installing. Select Light theme and change the dialer number colors to as dark as possible under settings.
Download here
Scorecenter v1.0.5
If you don't like Scoreboard, here's another option that matches this theme. Download here. NOTE: The Bottom Line text is black but should be white. I'll fix soon.
Excellent work! Nice change up from the dark themes.

Thanks guys. Means a lot coming from all of you with your talents too. This theme did take time but not a ton of time. Partially because the AOSP taskbar is essentially "GTX" anyway and because I've been doing this long enough that I have a pretty good idea of what I need to change to achieve the look.
The other thing that helped out immensely was using widgets with absolute layouts as opposed to relative layouts. If I can pin-point the exact location of something in dips, it makes my life easier. That's just my dorky 2-cents....
Isn't it annoying how we can never be satisfied with our themes? I am already thinking of what this would look like inverted (i.e. - dark GTX). I think it would look cool. But the black text on white is so damn legible and cool looking. I don't know, maybe I'll do a test run.......
EDIT: Or maybe I should finish this one since I just posted it!!!

Ok, so I must be an idiot, I flashed the flashable part, ran the metamorph part, but I still have the Launcher Pro folder and the desktop visualize folder and I don't know what to do with them? Do I have to have Launcher Pro already installed (or install it?). Currently using ADW? Sorry for the moron questions....still very much a noob
Edit: Not sure why but after metamorph I get boot loop......

For metamorph, sometimes it will loop. Pull battery and restart or flash the original framework-res and try again.
As for LP, you just add the icons to the dock. But if you're using ADW, I don't know.
And for Desktop Vis, those files are just for reference if you want the shortcut icons like in the screenies.
EDIT: BTW, what ROM are you on?

Sorry for such a noob question, but if we have to unzip the file MM itself because it wont let us use it in recovery, how do we install it? Thanks a lot for the theme (Running cmod 6.0)

I only mentioned that because sometimes MM throws an error. Basically, download Metamorph from the market, launch, pick new theme, pick my MM zip file. If MM doesn't extract, then browse to SD card/Android Themes/ and extract the zip yourself.

MM file can be found at the bottom of this post. The MM will change your fonts to Arial (including Clockopia.ttf) and change some images in framework. I would not recommend running this for non-CM6 ROM's since I changed the font colors with the CM6 Settings. There is no need to theme the Power Control widget since it's on a dark background. For the custom lockscreen background, refer to second post.

I think so, but it seems hes been on edge lately. Anyone that makes any kind of request or suggestions on it he comes back with a remark of "make it yourself if you want it on another ROM" or "I dont like it like that. On the flipside, you are more than welcome to make it however you want also".
Ive yet to hear you make comments of that sort when someone asks u a question or a request about one of ur themes or ports. I Just thought ur port might be alittle more of a friendlier version . I mean no offense to him, his work is great and I appreciate all his hard work he has done for us and our heros .... its just his mood has sucked lately and I'd hate to ask the wrong question let alone ask a request for a change or add on for the theme. LOL

Some alternative home launchers (ADW) enable you to remove the text underneath the icons on your home screen(s). The mod does the same while keeping the stock Rosie.
Attached is a MetaMorph that you can use to apply to your existing Rosie.apk, that will remove the text from the icons on the homescreen(s), while retaining any previous edits done to your Rosie launcher. It does not currently recoup the space that the text previously occupied, however, it does allow for a "cleaner" look.

XML MetaMorph Control File <--- Apply using the latest MetaMorph Application
Note: When modifying Rosie.apk with MetaMorph any of your existing widgets on all of your screens will likely get reset and need to be re-added.
Also, for some reason on the EVO, Rosie does not appear to like to be edited via MetaMorph, and as such, after applying the MetaMorph, you phone may freeze, requiring a battery pull or issuing a reboot via adb. All will apply fine after reboot.
As an alternative, you can pull the 'resources.arsc' file out of the linked MetaMorph, and manually insert it into your existing Rosie.apk file, and adb push back to your phone. It is recommended to issue the push during a reboot, or generate an update.zip file to flash via recovery. Pushing via reboot or applying via an update.zip file in recovery will prevent you from having to re-apply any of your widgets. As mentioned above, applying changes to Rosie while the phone is fully booted causes you to have to re-apply any widgets.

Problem is, if you have any other changes to Rosie making it non-stock, a flashable zip will undo those other changes. It's such an easy change, if you want, post up your Rosie.apk file, and I'll modify it and create a flashable zip.
Will this myn-WarmTwoPointTwo-09-27-2010-RLS-1 ROM work with this .zip file on recovery clockwork mod flash?
Worked great with Myn
Btw.. thank you OP.

Anyone else notice that this doesn't work with the HTC Sense settings widgets? This removed all the text from my home screen (flashed with Metamorph only lost my widgets not my icons) but the Wifi, GPS, Mobile data, and Ringer Profile all still have text. I assume this is because they are widgets not app icons?
Also oddly enough it un-centered the Phone icon on my Rosie launcher using Virus theme, it is now slightly to the left, doesn't matter at all to me just found it odd.
Again sir, another great MOD. Glad you have an EVO now, I always seem to like your MODs.

That is correct. Any widgets that have text under them are essentially not program shortcuts and would have to be modified directly, as opposed to globally via Rose

That is what I thought for the widgets just wanted to be sure. As for the phone icon mo that was actually me not being observant lol. Turns out it just removed the word "Phone" that was next to the phone icon, I just never noticed the icon was off center till the word was no longer there. This is an awesome mod to bad soon after flashing this I found a really awesome font, one awesome enough for me to want my icon text back lol. I had to flash my Nandroid back up to get the text back. Do you know if there is a way to make a metamorph to bring the text back instead of having to go this route?

Oops, that should not have happened, i.e. remove of the 'Phone' text. That is an accident on my part, as I have it removed, and it is in the same file. I thought I was working off a stock Rosie for this mod, but clearly I was not. Sorry about that. I will modify accordingly.
You can always grab the stock Rosie.apk out of the ROM zip file you originally downloaded and just push it back to your phone to undo this change.
So with this mod taking away the texts, is it possible to manipulate the size of the icons as well??
Okay guys, at the suggestion/request of Konikub, who was told this couldn't be done, I, "Team LoneWolf" , decided to crack open the stock HTC Messaging application (Mms.apk), in order to investigate the possibility of inverting / applying a "dark theme" to the application.
It seems this has not been done before, and upon initial investigation, I can see why. Many of the HTC Sense applications share common resources (themes, styles, icons, etc), stored in com.htc.resources.apk. So, if you attempt to modify something used by Mms.apk, but stored in com.htc.resources.apk, you are going to unwittingly modify the appearance of other applications, and if other corresponding elements are not adjusted in those applications as well, you are going to have problems.
So, things that are "challenging" are the things I like to try and tackle, and inverting this application was a tough cookie, requiring extensive edits, in some cases to "undo" references to items stored / defined in com.htc.resources.apk, and rather, make them stand alone directly within Mms.apk. This required major edits to XML, Styles, Colors, local .pngs, and Smali/Java code. You wouldn't think simply themeing an app would require all of this, but Mms.apk did.
Essentially, what this mod has done, for the most part, is flip most text that was black, and made it white, and most backgrounds that were white, and made them black (inverted), giving you a bit more visual interest, as opposed to the stock "white" look.
For those running a dark theme on their phone, who prefer to use the stock messaging app (I use Handcent, lol), this should fit the bill nicely. Again, thanks to Koni-man for the "nudge" / "coaxing" to take a look at this.

Flash the attached (HtcMms.zip) via recovery. Also, let me know if I missed anything. It is certainly possible, as there are so many menu options / tasks that can be done, that I may have overlooked.
EDIT: MetaMorphs attachments added (morph_*.zip), to modify the default 'tap to compose' area from gray (shown in screen caps above), to black (screen capture), and another to return the application icon in the app drawer to stock color. DO NOT ATTEMPT to flash these. They must be applied using MetaMorph, AFTER you FIRST flash from recovery the original mod (HtcMms.zip). After applying using MetaMorph, you will need to, at a minimum, issue a Hot Restart, for the application to re-appear in the app drawer. It will disappear after applying the MetaMorph, and re-appear after a restart.

Indeed, he's a good guy. Honestly, if someone else came to me for help on this one, especially since I use Handcent (currently, I may switch now too!), I probably would have ignored the request. But, I always like to help Koni out when possible .
Very sweet I am downloading now
Might you be able to customie other apps like this? Like making the stock HTC music app and People app all black. That would make Sense even more epic.

Probably. It's just a matter of investing/finding the time to do so. Things like this can take many hours/days to pull off...

Just flashed I like but needs a few details.
1. It changes the message icon at the top notification bar default.
2. Make the "Tap to Compose" section black with white like the rest.
3. Make the main message icon default color not blacked out.
Other than that very good work!!

Wow, JS. Nice. I want to use this, but question. Does this include any of the mods that were put into it from Calkulin. More specifically, the compression fix and 5MB limit fix. It's fine if it doesn't. They're just good to have.

I modded this from a stock Mms.apk. I'm not familiar with the details of the mods Calkulin did, but I assumed they were to the framework, as opposed directly to the .apk. I'll have to look, as, honestly, until now, I've never really used the HTC Messaging app.
BTW, I'll probably knock out a few MetaMorphs shortly, with some "other" preferences, such as the mentioned black "tap to compose" area. I did it that way initially, but didn't like it. It looked like too much black to me and made it hard to differentiate the compose versus non-compose areas. I'll probably also do a MM to restore the stock application icon. I wanted to darken it to denote it is a changed / darkened version of the app.
Thanks been wanting this for a while. I knew you was going to give us something cool you was too quiet.
You are the man.

Okay, FYI, I've attached 2 MetaMorphs to the end of the OP based on preference.
The first MetaMorph will change the "tap to compose" area from the modded gray in the OP, to black for those who prefer it, as shown below:
The second MetaMorph simply returns the application icon in the app drawer to stock white.
Note, after applying using MetaMorph, you will need to, at a minimum, issue a Hot Restart, for the application to re-appear in the app drawer. It will disappear after applying the MetaMorph, and re-appear after a restart.

After just getting around to installing your rotary unlock mod, I am loving this!
Only problem is I can't install it. I go into the recovery menu, choose install from zip and then confirm, I get an error.
Installing update...
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and updater-binary) to create working update .zip packages.
Any ideas why I get this error? I haven't changed anything since I installed the rotary lockscreen. Maybe switching to Amon recovery?

Accurate Battery Mods for EB105 Froyo
These are a few basic Battery Mods made from EagleBlood V105 Froyo. Although they were specifically created for that build, some testers have reported it working on other 2.2.2-based builds (aka anything using the LG stock Froyo as a base). This mod replaces the entire framework-res.apk file, so you will loss any previous theming.

Ya, but I will be putting together a few more battery mods when I have time. Just went a lil crazy today haha.
As another method, you can TRY feeding the framework-res.apk back into the Online Theme Kitchen, but it doesnt always work right. Sometimes it errors out, or causes a bootloop, but its a great resource for images.
PS WIll be adding more images soon, especially for the True Xperia

That bug is DEF fixed if you used the above links, I flashed that sucker a few times to make sure. I also bundled in all the themed apps to make it easier, so we are def talking about the same file. Try flashing it, clearing your dalvik-cache, fix permissions, and reboot. Let me know.

Thought I'd share a screenshot of the blue circular battery mod and how cool it looks with it!!! Also I found that the sliders color have changed as well as the position of the sliders which I am digging cause it suits the ROM!

Thats REALLY strange as the image has DEF been replaced with the proper one, and I combed through the framework pretty well to make sure I didnt miss anything else. Also, I flashed both my version and the Xperia version a few different times to make sure.
EDIT:
Okay, just tried Root Explorer, and I think it may be a app issue, cause that image doesnt exists in the framework. If an app uses its own png file instead of the one in the framework, then the dev needs to update the app with a GB style menu. Just curious, what other apps do that?
See pic below, this is from the Browser although MOST other apps should have a similar menu.

That power widget is from my personal "phishmonged" theme, make sure you arent flashing the True Xperia theme. Also, just to confirm, you are running EagleBlood V105 Froyo, correct?
I attached the Settings.apk file, which has all the mods for the settings menu and Power Widget, as another method. You can try pushing it to /system/app or copy\paste it to /system/app using Root Explorer or SUFBS.
I thought maybe I saw this problem before I installed your theme but my memory was fuzzy. After your statement, I'm sure now I saw this with the original ROM. I agree it is a ROM problem. I see it with Root Explorer and my exchange email app Touchdown.

No, I dont think its a rom problem, I think its an app problem. Android has a LARGE set of images that apps can use (which is why the "Settings" button looks the same for most apps, as it simply borrows Androids icon for settings). From Froyo to GB, The menu changed from white to black and the text inverted colors as well. If an app developor decides to use his own image (included in the app apk) instead of using Android's images (from the framework, which the theme modifies), then that would explain why certain apps have the white menu bug while others dont.

**UPDATE 12/16/11**
This is based on EP4D. There were some issues that may have stemmed from how the original files were deodexed, so I went back through and did my own deodexing from the actual OTA. Hopefully this should fix whatever issues there were. DWitherell put a lot of time and effort into some edits that have been incorporated into the theme, such as the reboot options, removing the label at the top of the power menu, enabling ASOP lockscreen. I hope everything is taken care of now.
**/UPDATE 12/16/11**
I know I've been stuck on making blue themes lately, but I've been trying to get one that I would really want to stick with. I'm pretty satisfied with this one. I used some of the images from ICS, a few from framework-res.
This is definitely the closest I've gotten to a complete retheming. It should be coherent throughout the system, so the text should be the same color scheme in addition to the images.
This theme is based off of stock EP4P release, meaning it will work with stock deodexed or Humble (I haven't actually tried it, but its stock, so it ought to work). I assume it would also work with EP1W Gummy RC1.5 and below, but not 2.0 or 2.1, and it probably won't work on Infinity. When we get some new ROMs out, I'll probably port it to work with them.
Themed:
Camera.apk
ClockPackage.apk
Contacts.apk
DialerTabActivity.apk
DownloadProvider.apk
framework-res.apk
Gallery3d.apk
JobManagaer.apk
MediaProvider.apk
Mms.apk
Phone.apk
Settings.apk
SystemUI.apk
TouchWizCalendar.apk
twframework-res.apk

dwitherell let me know today that he had worked out the smali edits necessary to put the extended boot options into the power menu (when you hold the power button). So thanks to him we now have recovery and download boot options just a click away. These will be included in all versions starting with v1.4
Black_and_Blue_v1.9.zip
Black_and_Blue_Batt2_v1.9.zip
*This is the same theme but with a round battery icon*
Black_and_Blue_Infinity1214_TSM.zip
V1.0 Was pretty close to a finished product, however, as I continued testing it I found a few more images that needed to be dealt with, then as I got more into it, I went through and tried to get all of the text to be the proper colors, so hopefully you shouldn't run into the yellow/brown text color in at least any of the major apps.
Instructions:
Make sure you have root and Clockwork Recovery installed
- Boot into recovery (Use either Reboot Button app or Hold Volume Up + Home + Power Buttons when phone is off, until the Samsung logo flashes then release all buttons)
- Select "mounts and storage"
- Mount /system/
- Go Back
- Select "install zip from sdcard"
- Select "choose zip from sdcard"
- Select "Black_and_Blue.zip"
- Select "Yes - Install Black_and_Blue.zip"
- Go Back
- Select Reboot System Now.
***The first boot may take a little longer than usual***
As usual, flash this theme at your own risk, myself, xda, nor anyone other than yourself is responsible for damages to your phone.

Great, its good to know that there are people using them. I'm quite pleased with how this theme turned out. I really just theme in an attempt to satisfy myself. The stock theme is awful, and a lot of themes people make are too....well they are too something....I like simple. So when I get bored looking at my theme then it comes time to produce another one haha. I do like the basic look I've got on this one.
Nice Job! Simple, crisp& clean theme. I used your gray's & black theme also. Some of the other themes I've seen are too over the top for my liking.

Stranula,
Thanks for the work on all your themes. I've had the grey in the past and now I'm sporting your "another" blue. I'll probably give this one a shot this weekend. However, I love the Droid Eye phone skin from "another". Is there a way I can just copy a file somewhere to keep it? If so, what file and where do I put it.
Again thanks for your work!

Make sure you use CWM and do a backup before doing anything else custom. Whenever you do a custom mod and things work and you like, then create another backup. If your mod fails or you hit a wrong button, then you can use CWM and restore from your previous backup.
As you get more backups on your sd card, you will want to start deleting them from the oldest as they will fill your sd card.

Ah I see you've included the stock tw clock app. That's good, it seems like most roms nowadays just use the aosp one but this is one of the few areas where touchwiz excels because that app has so much more functionality.
Theme looks really slick. Flashing as soon as ep4p finishes downloading.
