Hey everybody I just threw together a port of the famous darkstar theme, I used this theme for a LONG time in my g1 days and thought that everybody might like to rock this on their hero's with the new RC1. I am personally using this myself as of now. It was basically just something I was going to do for myself but thought I mise well share!!!
Screenshots and link to the creators thread. DarkStar G1 Please dont flash this one LOL.
My ported version over to the hero cdma for the Cyanogen 6 RC1 download links.
Darkstar CM 6 RC 1 Port
My hats off to the creators of this theme I truely loved it when I had my g1 and glad to have something to use it on again.

I'll make an optional update with it in there sure. I probably cannot do it tonight though will have to be tomorrow. I really do not want to mod much of this theme cause I enjoy it as it is. I understand most like the battery percentage in their taskbar but I never use it so this is optimal for me.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to this stuff, is porting this theme something that takes hours/days/weeks?
afaik, the only difference is its for a gsm, donut ROM, but its based off of cyanogen mod so I don't know how much there is to 'fix'...

I would have to disagree about that. I havent checked to see if theres an updated version, but thats for CyanMod 4 not 5. If it is, then all the graphics are gonna have to be pulled out and put back in. Theres also 14 apks in the zip that was linked. So you might have a chance of getting the the launcher and the clock done in +/- 10 minutes but if you want the whole theme, icons, .apks and everything included, its gonna take a lot longer than that. If you try and use the same framework-res.apk its not gonna flash. And you would need an updated Android.policy.jar and services.jar. Its totally possible though. And if you want to try and prove me wrong, I say go for it.

I know you would need to pull out all of the images. It really wouldn't take all that long (for me anyways lol). I mean no disrespect in anyway because you are more experienced in theming, but it really doesn't take much time at all to replace images and resign the apk's.
@ the darkstar theme, I'm working on it haha. There are like 3 little problems with it and I haven't been able to work on it for a few days cause I've been really really busy, but once I get a few minutes I will definitely work the issues out and upload it

I've seen a couple ROMs and full themes with the transparent pull down notification window but nothing stand alone.
Does anyone know if that mod is out there?

I would like this too! I saw a picture of it on a different ROM and while I didn't feel like trying out the ROM I thought that the clear notification tray was really cool. Not 100% clear but like, faded or blurred or something. Obviously, I don't know how to do this and don't know how much work would go into it but if someone decides to do it that would be awesome.

I'm gonna do a couple things I think. I'll try and post a flashable zip this afternoon but I will warn you I run DC 3.2.1 so this mod will be based on that framework
It will probably work on most but I will make no guarantees beyond flashing it over DC
Here you go, just flash it in recovery

I can confirm that this works great on Fresh .3 as well.
u think it's light enough?
I was thinking I might lower the opacity a little more. On the hero it was almost hard to see the difference..
If you're good with it I'll leave it alone for now

Works for me!
what would be really slick would be an app or section in spare parts to manually adjust the opacity. no idea if that can be changed on the fly, but man that would be slick =]
good for me too.... thanks

I'd say yes, but to be honest I'd rather do it myself. My mom has a Hero and I'd love to be able to set it up on her phone.
Tell you what: Give me one week to make it myself, I send you some screens, and if it isn't what you were thinking then we can discuss it further, if it fits the bill then everyone is a winner.
It would be easier for me since I have the source files, anyway

Is It possible for some one to bring this over to Fresh rom? This Is The bestest theme i've seen.
Yeah, still working on it. My hero was RUU'd to the 2.1 official .5 build and I spent all last night trying to root it and get a CM nightly on it for testing. It did not go well.
Anyway, with such adoring fans I suppose there really isn't that much need to test it myself, and I already know what to do if things break, so I've been working all day on getting the mdpi image elements ready. You guys have a slight advantage in that it doesn't take nearly as long to batch resize than it does to remake everything from scratch for a smaller screen
Will this work with Darch rom?

This theme is based on a concept by Jedipottsy(link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699497) that was totally left up to your interpretation. This is mine. The concept was based off a set of icons called Token, which are the ones in my dock and throughout the theme. I didnt make them so Im not gonna post them, but here's the link:http://brsev.deviantart.com/art/Token-128429570
Biggest thanks go to Jedipottsy and brsev for the concept, and of course Darchstar for the ROM. Also a thanks to JAguirre1231 for some cleanup assistance. And thanks to all those who support the things that I do, i appreciate it and is the reason I continue doing them.
You can see in the various screenshots there are two versions of this theme, one with the standard battery and one with a circle battery mod. Just flash whichever version you'd like, theyre both complete zips.
-All the .apks were taken out of the latest nightlies, and gapps. .
I will no longer be continuing devlopment or updates for this theme. I have moved to the EVO. thank you all very much for all of your support! Its much appreciated.

I was wondering one thing, in one of the screen shots from a previous thread, the icons on the dock were just words. Could you point in the right direction for that look? I looked to see if maybe Launcher Pro had some icons like that but nothing there.

Dude, AOSP is what I love (CyanogenMod!) but this is a slick theme. Once you get the Sense theme up and running you should consider expanding to AOSP, you've definitely piqued my interest (<3 the lockscreen/pull down bar)

Man I'm not even a fan of Sense but I would rock one of these themes especially if it were built on Lou's Redemptive. I have only used his Sense roms in the past and have got brilliant performance and support from this dev. Anyway looks amazing good luck with this port. I will be keeping an eye on the progress. As far as the battery make sure you get all the images and xmls ported. Again looks great.

Blew. My. Mind.
So, with cubanaso's permission, I'm beginning the effort to port these AMAZING themes to our beloved device. Starting with OBsensed, and hopefully continuing on to the others, as time and skill permits (college student, very first theme ).
This theme is considered a WIP, as it is not complete (yet). Hopefully some crafty individuals can help with the completeness
You'll notice a few things that don't look right, like the battery charging animation (and other notification clashes), as well as the favorites widget. Any and all info/tips to change/fix any issue is GREATLY appreciated.
Also, I accept no credit. All credit goes to cubanaso, the creator of these themes. If you'd like to donate to him, please use the link in his signature found HERE

Hey, I ported Cubanaso's Tron sense theme for the Evo and had problems with the notification icons as well. The USB debugging icon is in /system/app/pcscii.apk. Took me forever to find it. The battery icons will need edited. You'll have to open them up individually and make the background transparent. Same thing for the signal bars. As for the favorites widget, I'd imagine its an image in the apk but I'm not 100% sure. Hopefully you get this worked out. If you need help PM me and I'll do what I can to help you out with it. Cubanaso's themes are the best!
