About huawei u8230 ; It has Android 1.5. So :
1. May it Upgrade to latest Android Version (2.2) and similar version will come later ?
2. What about Custom ROMs for this Device? (cuz we need Arabic support)

Search on modaco for 'cyanogenmod-6-port-for-pulse'
U8230 is almost the same as the pulse(8220), but I think you need to upgrade to 2.1 first(i am not sure about this)

Hello i did the same update as you but i cant make calls , did it take you much to get your phone working , ps my cam does not to , i don't think this will go after speaking to Huawei due to hardware problems

This is so funny, because of you=). You must read description, and posts by people, who installed this or that rom, witch your are looking for. The best rom is here http://www.gizmonder.com/2011/03/android-22-huawei-u8230.html (with no bugs and lags), you can translate it to your language using google translator. Huawei u8230 is very rare model, so no one is working hard about this phone.

no - not yet. still some problems getting Android to work properly under windows ROM.
You wont see a complete rom till the devs have ironed out most of the problems.
Its easier going through windows mobile because it means you dont have to reflash it all the time.
Once the wifi bluetooth and camera work youll probably see roms.

If you are looking for a MIUI rom your best bet is to go to the miui site. My best advise would be to search the internet as most roms are not for China based dual Sim phones.

I would check the MIUI site as no development for those roms are done here due to GPL violations. All the roms here are only translations

the Clockwordmod program works.

Get ahold of the OEM and have them release the kernel source code and see what they say

Who makes the phone? They are the only ones that can release the source code for the kernel. And under the GPL they have to release it.

I spent a lot of time searching original firmware for the s810 and i think now can be the start of many things on this device...
Something that would be nice is to write on this "thread" all the things we do on this device (installation, rooting and improving)
I will try during the day to find a place to host the original firmware...
Ps: A hint from russian forum : Cyanogenmod rom works for this device ! cool !!

in every rom before u install just read all the op. thr is explained how to install, what is required (possibly with links) or any bugs. just read the 1st page i hope u can do by urself.

if u really dont und nothing thn better find someone near u. who can do this for u. because by ur mistake its very much possible to make the toy brick. perhaps u can see this video for some idea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSPyOdPDgdU

1. unlocked bootloader and s-off ( search for revolutionary)
2. Custom recovery ( search for 4ext recovery)
3. find a good rom ( i recon Elegancia 3.6 (blitz) or Android revolution HD)

my Sensation of T-mobile is already rooted and S-off ( it came to me like that they probably done it at the store or something ) all i need is to install another rom because the Elegancia 3.1.1 is what im using right now and its very slow and makes me problems . now , for installing Revolution HD i need to change radio and fireware?

Yesterday Huawei uploaded the 4.1 firmware. As a new member XDA doesn't allow me yet to post links, just search the huaweidevice site for y3oo and firmware.
I began looking into the files, but it seems the boot.img is not that easy to unpack:

I read in a spanish forum that you can install Play Store in the Y300-0000.
I test this method yesterday and working on my phone !...
I can uninstall some chineses APK with super manager (phone is root)

Why dont you guys type "Modaco Huawei Ascend Y300"
there SHOULD BE a link that goes Huawei Ascend G510 / Orange Daytona / Y300 - MoDaCo... most probably the first one.. that takes you to the development forums of the phone, its very active and there are a few roms under way already.
But yes, It'll be great to have an XDA forum for this.

Yes we already found those forums (MoDaCo , HTCMania and android-hilfe) , but except MoDaCo where people can speak a little bit of english , the other two need Google Translate for me to understand anything. If we would have a XDA forum this problem would be solved. Besides , there is way more traffic on XDA than those 3 forums so people from there could unite and come here in one big happy family ) Just my 2 cents

I owned gio until I lost it I own y300 for few weeks. So its 10 times better than gio: better camera, screen, cpu also FLASH and HTML5 support, amazing screen. Small amount of ram but usable, great 2000mAh battery (it shows wrong in specifications its really a 2k mAh) low quality back cover...its comfotable but mine was broken also sometimes laggy unlock animation, so need a good custom room Im happy so far but had problems with receiving a call some peopl cant call me
