Trying to use the exploid.c program compiled for arm, but unable to find a directory I can place the binary and execute it from. No sqlite_stmt_journals folder, and data/local has no permissions set that allow me to push it into it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I use estrongs file manager with root explorer turned on in options.
Yes, I have tried that too before but it doesn't work on my phone. It only works on Cyanogen and hiapk ROMs
Any more ideas?

Try this from 'adb shell' or a terminal emulator on your phone.
su
cp -rf /data/data/dirtocopy /sdcard/diryouwantyourfiles/
I think you'll need busybox installed as android doesn't come with cp.
Done.
Had to give up and use Root Explorer lol
Thanks anyway mercianary

If you have root access on your phone, you can download a file manager that can access your phones root files, such as Root Explorer. With your file manager you go into /data and find your .apk and copy the file and paste it on your SD card and from there to your computer. Hope that's useful information to you.

android pc suite..google it. and download netdragon software..there is a SAVE APK in this software..thats all..it is better android pc suite..this is a must have
I think something like this should work even if the phone is not rooted.
enter at terminal on phone:
mkdir /sdcard/sysapps
cp /system/app /sdcard/sysapps
mkdir /sdcard/dataapp
cp /data/app /sdcard/dataapp
these should just copy the whole app folder to sdcard. I don't think it needs to be rooted because you are only reading the system, not writing to it.
this worked for me in the past to pull the build. Prop from the system of an unrooted phone.
if those don't work try this one
cp /system/app/*. apk /sdcard/sysapps

Try app monster backup everything that isn't protected. Then open sdcard/appmonster/backups/ copy all the apks from there.
If ur rooted cp /systems/apps/* should do the trick. Although another way would be to tar /system/apps/ to sdcard i use * coz i think those odex files are important too right?

I have Bionix ROM and I'm trying to add sounds to my bionic boot animation. But there isn't a poweron folder and I tried putting it in the history folder but it still doesn't work. Is there any way to add sounds to the animation?
EDIT: Changed to Bionix ROM and it still hasn't worked. Also tried putting sound file in Notification file and no luck D:

I think it has to do with the kernel, faux kernels don't have boot sound. Dunno about morfic or stock kernels either since I only rock faux ds kernels when released.

What kernels do have boot sound?
testing a method...will post back results ...good or bad
I was able to get sound...tried lots n lots. There is a TON posted here on the subject...found my solution in the HTC forums. Don't have the link handy but search CM7 boot sound. There is a file called bootsnd.sh that will append the necessary files and create the bootsound app needed. To finally get this to work I reflashed a new nightly of CM7. This also removed Trinity kernel...so maybe that was mucking things up. Ill reflash Trinity and see.
But to recap ...yes boot sound on LG g2x with cm7 is a go.

OK, I'm going to try cm7. Will posts results to verify.

Taken from somewhere here in xda. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048231)
I cleared cache and dalvic using CWM.
I flashed a fresh CM7 nightly using CWM.
I Followed terminal emulator instructions...I'm sure adb from command line will work also. I used root explorer to copy android_audio.mp3 (don't forget to set system folder as R/W with root explorer.
1) search for and Download the bootsnd.sh file. Save it to the root directory of your SD Card on your Device.
2. Take whatever sound you want and rename it to: android_audio.mp3 (needs to be mp3 format) and then place in your adb directory.
3. On your phone, open terminal emulator, and type in the following:
su [enter]
cd /sdcard [enter]
ls (to list all files, you should see bootsnd.sh)
sh bootsnd.sh [enter]
You won't see a confirmation, or message, it just runs, and returns you to a # sign.
From your computer, adb push the android_audio.mp3 to the /system/media folder, reboot, and you'll have a sound.
If you don't like or know how to use adb, using root explorer and placing the android_audio.mp3 in the system/media folder works just as well (Mount the /system as R/W First). Reboot, and enjoy your boot sound.
*NOTE*
If you flash / change roms, you'll have to re-run the process to enable the boot sound again. If you get tired of it / don't want it, you can use root explorer and delete the file.
Alternate method:
For those that don't like using the terminal emulator, you can do it via adb:
navigate to your adb folder via commanda prompt, then issue the following commands:
adb remount
adb shell
cd /sdcard
ls [will list files, you should see bootsnd.sh]
sh bootsnd.sh
Like in the emulator, you will be returned with a # sign. Then place the audio file in the folder I specified. Just decided like posting an alt method

What do you mean by setting the system folder as R/W? It means read/write right? (lol write right)
EDIT: Plus how do I set it to R/W ( Sry im a little of a noob when it comes to things like this, im better at game developing )

Using a utility like Root Explorer (A paid app but worth the 4$, there may be a free alternative), makes this a trivial task...simply click the "Make R/W" will make the system directory ...you guessed it "Read/Writable". Normally its "Read Only" (R/O).
Im not 100% sure about this (im sure ill be corrected) as Root Explorer has made me lazy, but using ADB and issuing the command ADB Remount, will make the file system R/W (per the ADB Wiki adb remount - remounts the /system partition on the device read-write)
So using ADB to push your files, make all your edits on your local machine, then put them in your ADB directory, and issue commands as follows:
ADB remount
ADB push build.prop /system
ADB push init.local.rc /system/etc
ADB push bootsound /system/bin
ADB push android_audio.mp3 /data/local
Grr after I tried it it still doesn't work!!!
EDIT:Im reflashing ROM in case.
EDIT 2 : Yup didn't work.

Open terminal emulator and type
Su
Then at the # type bootsound
Do u hear sound? If not something is incorrect
If you do...then its your kernel.
Trinity breaks my bootsound.
Still looking for a fix

Hi there!
I have U30GT tablet which unfortunely till now didn't have any custom recovery. Some time I want to flash files to the ROM but due to this limitation I need to copy the files manually (easy job) and set the permission (hard job when there's a lot of files).
So is there any other ways that I can automated the task of copying the files and setting the correct permission without using custom recovery?
Many thanks!
Have you tried using a script or bat file to copy and set permissions through adb from your desktop?

Thanks. But I don't know how to do a script or bat file to be used with adb. Can you write up some guide for it?
I'll see what I can do. No garruntees. But another option is to push the files through adb then use v6 supercharger to fix emissions. Idk. Let me see if I can Whip something up for you.

package can be flashed through stock recovery but they are needed to be signed properly with the manufacturer's key

Thanks but I wanna copy files for some tweaks only.
Well I found 1 solution, that is to manually copy the files than use ROM Manager app to fix permission. Also found thread here in XDA about using .bat file to automated the push and set permission but as I very lacking in knowledge in using command, I'll stick to Root Explorer + ROM Manager combo.
you can root device, cat stock recovery.img, and then compile cwm recovery.
Check this website someone is working on getting CLOCKWORK recovery on U30GT
