Are there any tricks I'm missing? I can only get 1204
Running 2.05.x radio, sky raider 2.5, unrevoked forever, and stock kernel

Wow so I just installed the above kernel hydra_ocuv2_v10_signed.zip and got a 1518!!

With SkyRaider 2.5.2 I got to 1402 using the hydra kernel as well; how dare you get 1403! grr.

Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App

See if this is any better. I ran a 1457 but having hard time uploading a decent screenshot
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App

ugh, wtf? SkyRaider 2.5.2 keeps freezing on me with Hydra Kernel 2.6.32 @ 1.15 ghz

If you do not understand the way processors work, you should not be overclocking your phone.
Also, this thread is about Quadrant scores not troubleshooting.
That said, you may find that the overvolt version may help your issue.

Looking at your sig, I'm intrigued. I'm running what you're running but I haven't attempted a kernal update.
No issues at all with Hydra Kernal? Easy to install?
Thanks for any input.

answering for him: very stable and installing a kernel easy as installing a rom.
btw, just updated

Got this with CM6 RC3.

1280 or so on SkyRaider 2.5.2 vanilla, but I am running stock speed undervolted kernel, so yesterday I had 13h+ of uptime/usage and 28% battery left yet before I went to bed. Seems like a worthwhile tradeoff

You should be able to. Any of the kernels that work on nfinite's ROMs should work on this one as well. As already suggested, nandroid first!
i haven't applied the OC yet. what i noticed is the OC kernel isn't undervolted. i think i might just keep it at stock. honestly i haven't really seen a change in my battery life. im still about to go from about 7am to midnight or later on a full charge. so far so good. i dig it.

Sounds ok, i'm going to try this out to see how it runs, i've been running cm6 for a while, and Zenhero 2.0 so i'm still looking for the right one. I'd make one but I have no time.

Do you have CWM3.0.0.6 installed? Which version of the ROM???
I just got done going through a 4 day test peiod, installed both ROMs about 20 times from diffrent approaches,no problems for me... The main problem I had was slimming it down, but I finally got rid of all FC's.
What are the differences between the two?
yes i do. i might try downloading the bigger rom to see what happens

i redownloaded it and worked fine. must have been a bad download before. anyways sorry for the false alarm, and thankyou for the fast response.

Has to do with the kernel.. maybe cwm3 and the kernel.. but only twilight zone kernel roms have those problems
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Flashed it and it was running great. One issue that bugs me with the theme, the honeycomb image tiles when in landscape(talking about the notification bar).
And I'm not a fan of the text being gray and not black, thus I tried flashing Gingerbread theme over it to a boot loop.
Other than that, nice work.

youre not looking for a rom, youre looking for a kernel. roms dont control cpu speed, unless they also included a OCed kernel. try morfics trinity 1.44ghz kernel.
what you're looking for is a KERNEL that supports overclocking. not a ROM.
although a ROM may include a kernel that supports OC.
NSCollab has Netarchy's kernel included. So flashing that ROM would have what you're looking for. If you want to use another ROM that doesn't include a kernel with OC capabilities. Download Netarchy's kernel from his thread and flash the ROM then flash the kernel afterwards.

Can it? Yes.
Will it? Probably not.
Should you overclock if you can't afford to ruin you phone? Probably not.

NexusBeam imo. I find a drastic improvement in performance and battery life with minor tweaks.
I like with Speedy kernel
I've tested almost every ICS rom's available and right now KANGY6 with MATRIX v14.5 CFS it's the best combo for me.
i'm getting 3000+ on Quadrant with 1.46Ghz OC
You may try the CYBERGR ROM it's also very stable and fast.

these threads are hard to do because there are so many good ROM's, and everyone has their preferences.
Stock is the most stable. No hacks=stable. Just like iOS

nothing is more stable then stock !, more close to stock = more stable.
but i suggest KANGY-S + matr1x 14.5 CFS, that's what i am using now.

best sgs4g rom & kernel combo

Just flashed back to stock from CM9 last night, because I got tired of bugs and reboots. Right now my sgs4g is on stock froyo and rooted. I want a reliable rom. What has been the best kernel/rom combo for you?
When I used CM9 I didn't get bugs nor reboots maybe a bad download?
Froyo is from the dark ages, I suggest you bump up to Gingerbread
My Signature has everything I run and I go days without a reboot and a day without a recharge. Everyones mileage will vary though.

I recommend barebone. I liked the theme and being on GB you get WiFi calling and two days of battery.

In total agreement... Very stockish but rock solid, no reboots or data loss... and excellent battery life

With the phone this old, the only way to make new again is to use ICS roms and above. Time and time again, I tried to go back to GB bare bone, I always ended back to ICS roms. I just missed out the modern UI too much to be using GB.
So here is my stable and good battery life combo: Ultragen and hefe kod. Just remember to fix permission after flashing hefe kod kernel or u might get a once in a while wake reboot when leaving the phone unattended. I don't know y, just an observation.

Thanks for the input. I went with cm9..... again, when I noticed blundven updated it. However now there are bugs with video. Flash is no longer supporting android....what is the best kernel? Hefe? I'm just running the one supplied from cm9 update.
Use ICS Proton kernel v2.
