[Q] HELP! ZTE Racer Root! - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Just recently bought the ZTE Racer, any idea on how I can root it, it has Android 2.1 on it, it is a pretty mediocre phone - apparently a 600mhz processor but the reviews say its more like 500mhz!
Redeeming Point? It's cheap! But with apparently no plans to upgrade it to Froyo I was wondering if you guys will be able to help out on getting that on my phone!
Thanks Ppl!

You could try this and report back if it works:
http://blog.23corner.com/2010/08/12/universal-androot-1-6-1-released/

It works but I can't access with adb remount to remove system apps.
Anyway, you can install apps that requires root.
Tested on a TMN Soft Stone (Same as ZTE Racer Portuguese version)

racer
how did you apply the Universal Androot 1.6.1
i have just bought the phone and its my first android phone and have no idea
please help
much appreciated

Welcome to the wonderful world of Android!
Go to Settings -> Apllications -> Enbale 'Unknown Sources'
On your phone, using the browser, download the Universal Androot 1.6.1 package from here:
http://bit.ly/aa4jxJ
It should download "UniversalAndroot.apk", tap on filename and it will install on your phone.
Go to your applications and start "Universal Androot", choose your android version from the drop down and "Root "

I just bought a TMN Soft Stone and I'm new to Android.
What are the implications of not accessing adb remount? Could it be other cause (your fault )?

Is it safe to root GSM locked and already rooted phone?
Hi guys,
I am new to this forum and I have a similar question about rooting mu ZTE Racer…
Is it safe to root GSM locked and already rooted phone?
When I try to install some of the applications which are working only on rooted androids they are responding an “Unable to get root” warning message.
While browsing and googling my problem I’ve found out that I can root my ZTE Racer with “Universal Androot” application.
Now I have successfully downloaded it and installed it, but when I try to root it gives me a message saying: “Your device is already rooted! Root again?”.
I would gladly press YES on that, but the only thing that bothers me here is that my phone is previously locked by the provider?
So is it safe to root a locked phone or not?

Root
I think it safe as it rooting just writes O.s files dont use universal androot though
download z4root from the android market
Step 1. Reset Phone ( optional )
Step 2. Install z4root
Step 3. Enjoy rooted phone
When rooting is done phone will restart and the phone is rooted universal androot resets root when the phone is switched off.
Any customs roms available for this phone yet guys ????????????

thanks for the answer ryanraven
i am going to try `z4root` and will post feedback..

as far as my research on the google there a still no custom roms avaiable...

Successfull
I downloaded `z4root` and when i started the rooting process it was OK for a while.. but just before the reboot it gave me an error message... Perhaps `z4root` is not working on ZTE Racer...
However i succeeded to root the phone using the `Universal Androot`.
Thank you again `ryanraven` for your help
Now everything on the phone seems to go faster ))

Im using the zte racer. On 3 mobile and it rooted fine but universal androot reset root when phone rebooted.

[Q]

Hello everybody and first of all, forgive me for my English. I am French and I have found no help on the French forums.
Here is my problem : I have an Android Startrail Edition 2.2 (ZTE Blade Gen 2 if I understood correctly) and I wanted to root it, to use Link2SD in particular.
But it is impossible.
I tried the UnlockRoot method and Z4Root method, without success. Each time, everything goes well, the SuperUser application appears but it does not work. And why? Just because my phone is not rooted. When I go into the settings, it is still the original version of ZTE that appears. And apps like CheckRoot tell me it is not rooted. In fact when I do the experiment with Z4Root, once I engaged the TempRoot and I restart the app, I still have the choice to root my phone but don't have the "un-root" option.
In short, it looks like I have a "anti-root" mobile phone
Help me, please, my internal memory overflows
Thank you in advance.

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy SM-J100VPP

I apologize if this is posted elsewhere in the forums, or if it's incorrectly placed, But I figured it may be useful to some.
after hours of looking and browsing the internet, I finally found a way to root my Samsung Galaxy J1 by Verizon.
You will need the following: Samsung Galaxy SM-J100VPP non rooted
Kingoroot application OR
Kingroot application.
Step 1) Go to your dialer and enter *#*#759#*#* or install an app called Hidden Menus and look for "Rlz Debug UI..."
Step 2) turn OEM Mode ON
Step 3) Use KingoRoot or King Root and click root.
This will work on devices that have received the OTA update from VZW.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If anyone knows of a CWM Recovery or Custom Roms For this device, I would very much appreciate a link. if not, I will have to try to port it myself. Thanks in advance.

I've tried the king method and odin method and still can't root this J100VPP.
I even tied to brick it nothing. The king method stops at 90 percent. I'm lost, I need a new idea.
I have the exact same phone and I was able to root with kingroot.net. If I remember correctly I had to do it two times before it was successful.

I had a Samsung Galaxy J100VPP from Verizon, an I move to Guatemala, and a rooted the phone, and I need use the phone in Guatemala with the Guatemalan Companies, the companies are Tigo, Claro and Movistar, what you did to put in work your phone in Venezuela??? Help Please
Old thread but I just got root using Kingroot 4.9.5 to root SM-J100VPP with andriod 5.1.1 confirmed and working.:good:
Working for me but afraid to update it with the chainfire one want exposed on this
It worked for me with Kingroot and Hidden Menus but after optimizing with Kingroot and uninstalling a few bloatware apps, it crashed, restarted (with the open lock icon, "custom" underneath, now on startup) and no longer has root access in Root Checker, it saying "Root access is not properly installed on this device".
I think it should be noted that Kingroot originally told me root access was unavailable but below also said "Root strategy available, just try it", so I did. Now it seems that wasn't permanent. I won't attempt it again unless one of you has a lead that requires me to.
And how do I know if I got the OTA update from VZW?
Anyone else have this problem?
I am a greenhorn with this stuff. This is my first root attempt. Please be specific when directing me somewhere if needed.
I used Kingo root and after a few tries it worked. I like this better because I can use tasker with the build in Superuser (after build prob mod of course and for some reason supersu). I was not able to get tasker to work with King root.

The hidden menus is an app you can download from the play store to enable Rlz Debug UI to OEM mode. I have used Kingroot (which is the closest i get to rooting the phone) and Kingoroot. Just go to their sites and download the APK.

Need help Rooting two android devices

Hi all
please excuse the noobie question, hope this is the correct place to ask
I have two devices both running Android 5.1 lollipop
The first is a LG G3s D755 Phone
The second is a Hipstreet Pilot 10DTB42
I have tried some of the common methods to root both of them without success, any know if its possible and provide a link to a working method.
Thanks in advance for any help with this
Paul
PS if this is in the wrong forum perhaps a MOD could move it for me.
Thanks
I've got the hipstreet pilot too and want to root it but tech support won't help...
RE: For your ROOT PROBLEM TRY THIS
1. Try downloading kingo root
2. Then unlock developer options on your devices...
3. Then install kingo root on pc not on your mobile device as success rate would be lesser.
4. Then enable usb debugging mode.
5. Then install the abd drivers for your phone by finding on the net elsewhere.
6. Now finally on kingo root and connect your phone with min. 50% battery...
7. Enable usb debugging mode or else it wont work..
8. Then wait it will download the important files for the rooting...
9. It will reboot your phone three times approx.
10. Don't worry nothing has happened it is just flashing your memory and installing super user files...
11. Then wait. If your root is successful then it will show root successful or else it will say root failed...
12. If root successful eureka!!!. Or else please wait for some more months because it took me 5 months to root
intex aqua t5.
13. Then enjoy. But i cannot assure 100% success for every mobile but kingo root has provided 95% success for all devicers intex aqua t5 is my first mobile and was the first in the world to be rooted and is by me... So
chillax.
please thank my posts....
Rooting Hipstreet Pilot
Got myself a hipstreet pilot and have rooted successfully using an app called "iroot". The app must be version v3 or above to root though. Here is a direct link to the exact version I used: http://www.mediafire.com/file/de3391if9ya1sgp/iRoot_3.2.4_160914_0955.apk
If you have a proper twrp available for your device then surely flashing Magisk shud do.
else one click root tools are available

Root an uncommon UNKNOWN Android Device

Hi I'm trying to root my uncommon Thai brand "I Mobile IQ Z" which runs on Android 5.0.2 kernel 3.10.49 because of forever growing Android System bug.
I've tried Kingoroot pc AND apk, framaroot apk, RootGenius pc and some 3 other root solutions... but this phone is quite new in Thailand so all these methods don't work!! They all fail or say it cant be rooted! I'm desperate and out of solutions...
Is there any method to root this phone, regarding phone version/type or not? Flash a rom? or root EVERY phone type?
Because as soon as it says "supports almost any phone" that will NOT include mine...!
Does not need to be simple, can be with PC etc..
Thanks in advance
Bump I am also interested in it.

How to root Samsung J3 Pro SM-J3110

Dear friends help me, how to root Samsung J3 Pro SM-J3110?
help
i have the same phone help me to root it
Any one who wants to help?
Wish i could ...i have the emerge version of the J3....i dont really do dev wrk but the cf autoroot for the 2016 j3lte will brick any device thats diffrent. You could get ur boot img..m.make 2 folders of android kitchen and follow the twrp port tutorial using a official twrp with same specs and chipset...then u flash the universal su update to gain root once you boot recovery.....its not extremely technical sinve kitchen scripts do all the work. Search for andrioid image kitchen tutorials..and if you hit jackpot with twrp recovery flash no-verity-disable-encryption then proper supersu file...i believe its version 2.46 to be exact as the other builds bricked my device by using wrong su.update file...so be sure first and make a adb backup....tap build number in about device till ur a developer....enable usb debug....install samsung drivers..minimal adb as well for windows or even 15 sec install by developer Snoop15 ....then type in cmd ...adb device...screen will ask if pc has 9permision ....accept...then type in cmd... adb backup -shared -apk -all...confirm it and then do whatever measures you are wiling to take...its a big risk..research all my steps....its just the info u need to find the tutorials...im in no way responsible for you breakin your phone...its just what ive learned via youtube and xda .like i said its in no way complete tutorial just a method ive started compiling on Marshmallow device since kingroot might[heard its dangerous] not and other one clicks dont support past Lollipop 5.0 . THIS IS ONLY A THEORY .....ALWAYS HAVE A REPAIR METHOD 1ST since rooting manually can brick your device into a paperweight rather quickly.
