Original Vodafone AU RUU file - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

Hi,
I am looking for the Vodafone 1.5 AU RUU file.
I used to have it but I lost it.
I am trying to get it so I can send my phone in for repairs.
And yes, I have searched, but nothing comes up (at least what I have found when trying)
So if someone could post a link to it, would be appreciated.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659403 There ya go!

Thanks for the link, but unfortunately it doesn't have the 32B Vodafone AU one on there.

Oops! Sorry Do you have your nandroid backup from when you rooted the phone? If you do, you can just flash that from recovery and then go to fastboot and flash the stock SPL and recovery that you pull from a RUU with a similar main version.

I'm sorry but whats this if not a vodafone au 32b ruu?

I believe he is looking for the Australian version.

I believe you could be right

I'm pretty sure the Aussie 32b hasn't ever had an RUU update.
I've a nandroid backup of the original 1.5 stock rom as well as the 1.6 update, and I saved the OTA update package as welll.
I'm not entirely sure if you can use my nandroids for your phone, heh, I think they were clean installs, with no passwords set I can probably munge them into a zip installer and post them somewhere if you like.

He can use them, he just needs to wipe data/rotation/battery afterwards and it'll be as good as new.

Or just don't send him the data.img

Lol, yeah, that too

Is it possible to get someone to provide a dl link for this please? I think many people will want this at some stage or other.

I've got a few bits online, we have:
nandroid-vfau-1.5.zip www.filesavr.com/BBp0hi89
nandroid-vfau-1.6.zip www.filesavr.com/Rxivmuzu
which are nandroid backups, minus the data partition, no idea if nandroid will work them or not. Unzip into your nandroid folder and try it I guess
and
signed-vfpioneer-ota-15632.ec5ed98e.zip www.filesavr.com/SnxiZtcQ
which is the OTA update for going from stock 1.5 to stock 1.6.
Sorry I can't post links, you'll have to c+p, wait, seems I can now, odd...

hey strangeattractor, can you please post back the links to the file? i really want it, btw is it for 32a or b? i have a b devices, in case you might know, all magic from hutchison 3 is 32a....
i just want to get back to original stock vodafone rom, with ability to ota update to 1.6, after trying different rom.
however i flashed the custom recovery from Amon, and nandroid wont backup the recovery image, so after restore with nandroid to 1.5, i still can't ota update to 1.6.
thats what i suspect,
or do i have to flash the engineering spl as well? i have hboot 1.33.004 with security on (preventing writing to nand memory)
thanks

The links all give file not found errors :S. Sorry I lost the link to this thread a while ago.

Stupid free file hosting sites
The files I have are nandroid backups from my 32b australian vodafone HTC magic (with google).
http://pwarren.homelinux.org/android/vfau/
has
40M 2010-08-18 11:05 nandroid-vfau-1.5.zip
41M 2010-08-18 11:06 nandroid-vfau-1.6.zip
48M 2010-08-18 11:01 signed-vfpioneer-ota-15632.ec5ed98e.zip
nandroid-vfau-1.5.zip is the first nandroid backup I did after gaining root access and installing a recovery.
nandroid-vfau-1.6.zip is the nandroid backup I did after applying the signed-vfpioneer-ota-15632.ec5ed98e.zip file via the OTA update process.
Hope that helps

Newbie, please help, nandroid problems...

Hi,
I hope this is in the right section....
I have recently put the QTEK 1.6 Hero ROM on my Sapphire (UK MAGIC), and its ok but I preferred the stock ROM.
I have obviously done a nandroid backup using the RAV1.2.1G recovery image, using the one-click method (http://theunlockr.com/2009/08/29/how-to-root-the-htc-magic-in-one-click/).
I want to revert back to the stock ROM using my nandroid backup. I have follwed the instructions on these forums on how to do it, but I keep getting a problem.
I use the flashboot flash system system.img, it says sending, then writing, but when it comes to verifying info something or other, it says failed, something and something about unable to verify signature (happens on data and boot imgs too).
Is this something to do with SPL, do I need to update my SPL to restore, I have downloaded HARDSPL (version?) but have not gone any further as I dont want a brick....
Any help would be much appreciated.....
Thank you
If you were able to make a nandroid backup with your current SPL, then i assume thats not the problem.
Are you sure the files of your backup is still on your SD-card, and its (foldername "nandroid") location is root on SD-card..?
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes the nandroid folder is on the root of the sdcard, i've managed to get it working. Very strange??
What I did was to ignore the windows way of restoring, I just booted into recovery and selected nandroid restore, pressed green and hey presto, it worked? Now I tried that before and it said use adb in windows... maybe i missed a file or didnt press something correctly, at least I have my stock and apps back now...
Will try tinkering again though...got to be done... QTEKs rom has a few bugs, want to try Cyanogens, but i cant find his rom anywhere (i realise the issues with google)
Then i guess your SD-card wasnt ready mounted the moment you tried to recover.
He didn't recover via recovery, but via SPL.
so, do 1clickroot again, but instead of flashing a rom in recovery, select: restore nandroid recovery.
What if
What if we never created a Nandroid backup of the OEM ROM from our phone?
Will we still be able to return to the original ROM if we'd like for warranty purposes? I have flashed a Hero ROM and the OEM Tmo for Root Users and AmonRA Recovery. I haven't flashed any Radios or SPLs or anything though.
Just curious, thanks.
I downloaded the Unroot IMage which is exactly the release I used to have, COC10, is this the ROM I need for warranty purposes?

Trying to start nandroid and get following message FAILED (remote: not allowFAILED

Trying to start nandroid and get following message FAILED (remote: not allowFAILED
Anyone know why I am getting this message?
I have the htc Magic from rogers with the latest rogers update
you dont have the right SPL. when SPL is wrong, you cant restore a nandroid backup. Make sure you have root, then follow the instructions in my post. If your not sure what all this is read sticky for noobs on page one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4814865&postcount=227
does changing your spl void warranty? Is there anyway to restore the spl you are going to replace?
I was thinking you can get back the spl that came with the upgraded version if you remove you custom rom replace it with you stock rogers rom and then run the upgraded wizard to upgraded your firmware and force the upgraded even though it says you have the latest upgraded. Wouldn't that role you spl back fro warranty purposes?
when you want it back you can just flash the rogers update and it will restore the original rom and spl ;-). Ive done it. and ill be doing it on monday when i get my replacement magic. lol. your safe.
hey have a couple questions
If I install Amon's recovery, when I flash it with the rogers update it even rolls the recovery image to the stock image?
how did you manage to install Amon Ra Magic Recovery without using flashboot
Follow this; http://theunlockr.com/2009/08/29/how-to-root-the-htc-magic-in-one-click/. You have 32a board so follow instructions for that. It's very simple. Watch the video before you start and then do it with the video. Can't really say much more.
Now when I go to apply update.zi
finding update package
opeing update package
e:can't open /sdcard/update.zip
no such file or directory
SD Cards Issues
I've had this happen with the SD card with update.zip on it. I remove the SD card for a moment and then re-insert it and try again. Not sure why it happens but this seems to always allow me to install the update.zip on my SD card.
tired that still same problem
any other suggestions ?
fixed just download the sdl from

Vodafone UK Radio

Hi,
So I recently tried to do some modding, and I followed the guide (so I thought) for putting the Google ION firmware on my HTC Magic. The guide said, recovery image, I flashed recovery image.
Apparently I've flash the radio too...and they didn't mean recovery image they meant system image.
Is there a way to resolve this?
I'd really appreciate the help, I'd like to get my hands on the VFUK Radio or complete recovery image.
Could use this too
Orig Voda UK Nandroid backup
I've got my CRA71C nandroid backup I made after I got my Magic on the 3rd May. I found out shortly after buying it that it was a dev build firmware that should never have been released into the wild (already rooted) if that's any use?
Not 100% sure, but at the moment I'm willing to try anything, and I can get onto the recovery and get to Nandroid, so should help. I just need to find the right image to flash.
i thought they have same radio? being both 32B?
They are the same radio, as I've just discovered.
But for some reason it didn't work at all, but I followed some guide about reverting to a 32B Radio. So I wiped the whole thing, boot, recovery, system, etc. Installing the OTA update, and amon_RAs recovery, same problem again, but instead of booting into the system, I rebooted it into fastboot, flashed radio.img from the radio download on the HTC site, and it worked.
Not sure exactly what the problem was, but it's resolved now, thankfully.

NAND restore and firmware

Hi..just wanted some help with clarification on a few things. I upgraded the firmware to the one needed to install the ICS ROMs, but have reverted back to my original stock ROM using a NAND restore.
However, I noticed the radio and the HBOOT is still with the newer firmware one. So does NAND restore not restore them to the original? (the NAND was done before upgraded to the newer firmware).
Also, if I want to go back to the previous radio that was already on the phone. How can I do that? Do I use the RUU file? Will that restore everything back? And will I lose root?
Thanks for your help.

Why do you want previous FW, if current one most likely work perfectly?
Nandroid only restores/backsup /system, /cache, /data, /boot (kernel), and /recovery. It doesn't touch radio, boot, or any other firmware stuff.

I am not sure if it's the problem with it, but it seems the battery is draining very fast after I upgraded to this new firmware for the ICS and not back on gingerbread. That's why I want to restore a previous radio etc..
Actually, I mainly want the firmware that was released for the lastest gingerbread (i.e. t-mobile update in Dec). I had flashed the firmware before...after that flashed the other one for the ICS. Can I just reflashed the previous version of it?
Does RUU restore the radio back? and does it keep root?

RUU restores everything back, and i mean everything. And root, it'll be gone, but easy to gain again. You might need to superCID to be able to downgrade hboot (to flash earlier version which is in the latest t-mobile ruu)

Oh I see..so RUU files brings restores back to original.
I have super CID and everything root etc.. how about just flashing the PMG file that was for the update back in Dec for TMOUS? I just want to see getting rid of this new radio will make a difference.

[Q] [Question] Original HBOOT/RECOVERY to install offical update ?

A few month ago, I updated my wife's DesireS with a custom rom so she could have the Sense 3 before the official update.
I installed the clockwork recovery, but now I cannot install the official rom, because after the install's reboot, I'm in recovery and it doesn't flash the update.
Altought I have a EVO3D with KingCobra's 1.9 Rom, I'm not too familiar with HBOOT and RECOVERY, and I couldn't find an original Desire S recovery to allow the offical update.
Of course, I made some google searches, but I couldn't find how to solve this problem. Most replies tell to flash another rom, not the official. But my wife is my wife, and each time she has a problem, she tells me that it is because it is not an official (bug free?) ROM.
I tried to run a shipped rom from this thead : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506 , but I fall in a boot loop, not able to enter recovery, no USB connection to flash with recoverymanager, and at a moment, I even thinked I bricked the phone.
Fortunately, I found the VolUP+Power several times, and I was able the re-flash the previous rom.
Can someone help me please.
Thank you.
@kitarolivier
Little unsure on what you are needing.
Do you 1) want to revert the phone to stock, i.e. as you first got it (s-on again/no custom recovery/not rooted) or 2) flash a stock ROM but the latest (still s-off/able to root/custom recovery installed).
Also you need to provide more info, like the current hboot, and what method you used to s-off, what was the software version when you s-offed, which RUU you tried. More info easier and more direct solution.
The thread you linked are RUU's to get the phone to point 1.
foX2delta : Thank you for reading and replying.
You are right : I want to revert it as i received it. My goal is to install last offical rom with the htc update in the settings.
I will post hboot version when I'll get hands on my wife's phone. I didn't expected a reply so soon
I installed a rooted rom (can remember which one) with rom manager.
Full information this evening (GMT+1).
@kitarolivier
How did you s-off the phone? Also do you know if the phone is a Europe unbranded device?
@foX2delta :
The phone is S-OFF
HBOOT 6.98.1002
It's an unbranded european phone.
Is this enough as information ?
You should be able to flash this eng hboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17481836&postcount=2 via fastboot, then you should be able to flash the stock rom that you tried to flash previously
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
Thank you for the answer. I'll check that tomorrow, because I'm not home today.
Regards,
Olivier.
@kitarolivier
Pretty easy fix.
Have a look at this guide I wrote here, follow section 2.
If you want to get the latest (2.3.5/sense 3.0) then use the 2.10.401.8 RUU.
Hello,
I find lots of helpfull contents here, especially in your guide @foX2delta.
I'm a bit interessted by the second method to get stock ROM "2) flash a stock ROM but the latest (still s-off/able to root/custom recovery installed)."
Is it possible to get the stock ROM and keep s-off and custom recovery ? Have you a guide about this ?
I know it's possible to get the ROM from RUU but how to install this rom.zip ?
thank you in advance, bye
ps: sry for my poor english
@LitonX
If your phone is s-off and you have a custom recovery then it is as easy and flashing a rom, see this thread for prerooted stock roms.
thx,
i get HTC_Europe_2.10.401.9_Prerooted_Deodexed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480576). it's works fine.
I have a last one question. it is complicated to make my own flashable .zip from the "rom.zip" wich is obtained by RUU (start RUU and get rom.zip in %tmp%) ?

I followed with success the section 2 of your tutorial. I also donwloaded in installed the ROM you suggested, and it was OK. After that, the device updated a few apps (FB, locations, etc...).
Many thanx for your help, and I will press the thanki button right now, so you are now at 33 I think.

Follow section 2 of post: http://androidforums.com/3405058-post1.html
Basically, you have to go through flashing the bootloader twice.
