What's the difference between Droid x keyboard and stock 2.2 keyboard now that its multi touch?
droid x keyboard is miles easier to type on, imo

Some just like the looks of it. Less fuss so to speak. Doesn't have all the arrow keys for editing and moving around like the HTC Sense 2.2 keyboard does.
I use the Stock Froyo Keyboard which is similiar as well as Latin_IME MT(Sense).

what does the multitouch get you?
and how do you get the stock froyo keyboard, without the arrow keys?
Droid x is better imo because instead of just being able to "correct" the word you are typing, you can touch in ANY word you have in the message or wherever and it will show you the options you had... TIME SAVER!!!

Always backup before doing any mods to your device.
This keyboard should work on most Froyo Roms. I have ony tested it on CM-6-09282010-NIGHTLY-Inc.
If the keyboard FC's try installing the attached zip.
Please post the rom you're on and whether it works or not. So others will know. Thanks!
Enjoy!
Thx!

That will only show on some mms apps it depends on the rom your on. It will also show on a few other apps. Try gtalk.
Thanks for the share. I saw this in the X section this morning. WJD rocks. Works great on uncommon.
Well, after I rebooted my phone the keyboard went back to its default appearance. Not sure what to do to make it stick.

Works fine for Virtuous, just takes up the whole screen and it may be my theme, but I can see text input screen behind it. Besides that it works perfect.
Yes, not surviving a reboot on virtuous. How do we fix this?
Update: wierd thing, i went to reapply the file for the 3rd time and the file is just gone. Where did it go?
Works great on Ruby 1.1.1.

This works for MIUI, however the font is miscroscopic. Any way to crank up the font? Maybe it's the rom doing it...
Works beautifully with Uncommon Sense v1.0.
any way to change the color of the keypress to something... white or gray maybe? oh, and also i could do without the droid x eye, but it doesnt bother me much since i dont use the voice option much

There is an HTC keyboard kitchen at:
http://www.gimpsta.com/themer/main.php
You can cook up your own customized HTC Keyboard. Just be sure to choose v27-optimus-2x when asked for a version number. I built a cyan and blue keyboard with 3d shaded buttons last night and it's working great. Good stuff...give it a try.

Tried both and don't like either. For certain reasons i have been using Smart Keyboard. Just my opinion as I always have searched for the ideal KB with manual customization, enlarging buttons, increasing haptic, etc...
If swift has all of this, then maybe I didn't give it enough time however I don't like hopping around.

You can enlarge the buttons in smart keyboard? How? I would like to use the entire space so that the buttons actually are touching each other instead if having small spaces in between them.
I need a keyboard with arrow keys, so far smart keyboard is the only one that does the trick for me. Sense and GB keyboard both lack it
I actually use an old version of "shape writer" that is a non market app that I found either on xda or android central forums.
Easily the best swipe style keyboard I've ever tried. And I've tried a LOT

GB keyboard. i like the arrow keys.
Sorry for late reply. (SMART KEYBOARD).
Settings>general settings>key height(there you can manage height & width).
And if needed there is an option to pad the bottom of keyboard for "added lift ".
1 of the best features, are the addition of free skins in options. Just one tap and you can have almost any other keyboard variant.
Side note-Not sure if "pro version" varies as I only have this.

@det
Indeed. I used to type like this using t9 on my old Sony Ericsson w800i. Swype gives you quite the same feelings.
Anyways, pretty interesting experience so far. @Droid.. I would suggest you to give it another shot. It might be hard for the first time but it's fun afterwards.

I use swipe, it is the best keyboard
Smart Keyboard PRO
Tried swype for a while but didn't get used to it..
had to constantly fix words that it autocompleted/suggested.
I'll give it another try sometime.
Love Swype.
It also works as a 'tappy' keyboard which is great for times when I'm not likely to have enough coordination to squiggle in an appropriate line for my words
Anyone else having problems with recorrection using the stock ICS keyboard? I thought it was working when I first installed it but doesn't seem to be the case anymore. On my Xoom or N1 running stock ICS, if I place my cursor back on a word I've previously typed it will bring back up the auto-correct suggestions, so you can choose the correct one (like if it didn't guess right). Most people familiar with the ICS kb are likely familiar with this feature.
Any feedback appreciated, this is one of the best features of the keyboard.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I've tried clearing the app data of the KB. No dice.
