nice work all of the people here that have time sharing their knowledge, i just got one question if you dnt mind, what is better ROM if you live in some part of asia(philippines), the version xx.12 or xx13?,and also what's a better RADIO version also xx.12 or xx.13?
And what's a GOOD combination= ROM xx.12/RADIO xx.13 or ROM xx.12/RADIO xx.12 or ROM xx.13/RADIO xx.13 or ROM xx.13/RADIO xx.12.
i've tried the combi ROM xx.13/RADIO xx.13, and something happen,my xdamini "TEMPERATURE" got higher,it's always WARM,but before, when i'm using combi ROM xx.12/RADIO xx.12,it's ok.(i put it back again NOW to ROM-.12/RADIO.12), but some people sez that RADIO xx.13(better battery life) is better than xx.12, and some also sez that ROM xx.13(better network coverage) is better than xx.12.
quite confusing!, i want the BEST for my mini, and also for saving some battery life. Hope SOMEBODY could help me with this one!
tnx in ADVANCE
ANYONE?, ANYBODY?
I'm completely satisfied with rom 1.13WWE & radio 1.12 for 6 months now. Better batterylife & more stable than with rom 1.11.
Just my 2C
TNX OLTP, you light up my life, gonna test it NOW!!!!
I like radio 1.13 better. I use a vivanco BT headset and with radio 1.12 the incoming sound was terrible. With 1.13 no complaints anymore.
So I guess, only when you have a good reason (like I did) you should upgrade to 1.13.
Hi mr-who,
Which BT device from Vivanco have you exactly? I got a BT22D & indeed the sound could use some improvement, if you got the same I'm going to try radio 1.13.
M
Hi oltp,
Indeed I have the BT22D. Bought it for E 24.95 at Steenweg in Utrecht. I know it is not the most expensive headset, but the incoming sound was a bit choppy. Using radio 1.13, the sound improved a lot. Give it a try and let me know!
Bought it @ a local shop in Arnhem for the same price. The sound isn't exactly choppy, it's more the background noise that's annoying. Anyway I'm going to give it try this week.
Thanks for the tip.
Hi, everybody, with the test i've done and with the reply you post, i have studied and conclude that the version 1.13 RADIO is mostly compatible on most european countries, and the RADIO 11.12 is most compatible on south east asian countries.
the test i've did is comparing the mini with my bluetake i-phono bluetooth headset and testing the reception or signal of the network. BOTH RADIO 11.13 and 11.12 are fine, no problem when calling, listening to music, ect., but the one thing i observe,is that there is a big difference on the temperature of my mini, when i use RADIO 11.12 and the bluetooth is always on,the TEMP of my mini is fine, but when i tried the 11.13,it's kinda WARMER,actually when your listening to music it's normal that the mini is getting warm, but not WARMER or even i dnt use bluetooth and listen to music it's still WARM.
My conclusion is maybe we have a different network signal here in my country compare to others, that's why maybe the're still no available or no available 11.13 updates at all for asian coutries. hope this may help someone quite confuse like me.
and also tnx to OLTP,it's true that the ROM version 1.13 is better battery life saver. that's it!
wow great
Thx dude for your input. was searching around here for the coments on how the radio rom version differs with one another.
using 1.11wwe, planning to upgrade~
OLTP can you tel me how to upgrade just RADIO ROM ( from 1.12 to 1.13)
What i must to do with "radio1.13.0.sd.nb1" file

Hi I am running NBD v.8.3 wm6 on my mda and I am just hoping someone could tell me what the best possible combination is to create the strongest signal and create the best reception.
I have been using the T-Mobile 2.69.11 radio and was not entirely satisfied. It seemed quieter for some reason and some people could not hear me as well as with the standard T-Mobile 2.26.11 radio.
Right now I am using the Cingular 2.47.11 radio with the XDA Cingular WM6 Radio Fix2 and my signal seems a little stronger. Like when I would be sitting here at my computer, I would only have like 1 bar with the 2.69.11 radio but now I have 2 but that still isnt good enough for me.
Is there any other combination that I have missed or a better radio out there? If anyone has any ideas, please post and let me know.
hey i got the same problem.. i have the tmobile mda and i think reception sucks, i would lose reception while just sitting in my house and at work. so wat i did.. is i flashed my fone with the tmobile 2.26 offical rom and than i flashed it with the XM6r3 rom just cause it works great for me and than i flashed it with the T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly ROM and so far it seems to be working great for me i'll have 1 or 2 bars at home but i havent lost reception yet... so give it a try and let me know how it goes..
The T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly ROM is the best I've used. I'm even using it now with the latest official Cingular ROM for the 8125 (Wizard 100)
what about the2.47 Cingular one
I cannot find the radio ROM 2.47 anywhere, can you guys help me and as far as 2.19 T-mobile UK only how is the battery life on your phone ?

I think there is still a radio rom directory on the XDA ftp and it might be in there.
I found it and I others as well 2.19/2.21/2.25/2.40/2.47/2.69

Hi guys!
Is there any documentation, or just some user white papers, of what the difference between the diff. radio roms are? Does anyone even know, beyond the observation of which one gave their particular phone better reception? I'm curious just for the sake of knowledge
I'm running the 2.25.11 radio rom, on my Cingular 8125, and it works good, but lately I've missed/ignored a couple calls and my phone doesn't have the "missed call" icon on the top bar, my Phone program registers a missed call though.
I want to load up different radio roms and see which one works the best though, however I can't remember the instructions on doing that to my G4 CID-Locked phone. I've been looking around the forums and can't find it. Anyone point me in the right direction?
EDIT: I found the thread I was looking for. This thread talks about another radio rom and a utility to use on G4 phones, which can be found here.
Question for any knowledgeable people reading this. Can the G4 utility mentioned in the other thread I linked to, be used to load cooked roms too? Or is it safe to just load radio roms with it only?
I've tried them all and I've found the 2.61 radio rom to have the best signal.

I like the cingular stock radio 2.25.11
For me 2.47.11 radio rom works best.....Goodyear Az AT&T
I loaded 2.61 and haven't seen any difference. I may play with the radio roms later. I loaded the bundle referenced earlier. I wonder how much difference a ROM can really make on radio reception though. Still, an interesting experiment.
Yo all! Take a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306296
Thanks Wizeman! A good thread. He did is homework, it appears.
I've loaded the ROM he recommends but don't see any differece of note. Although a marginal difference would be difficult to see without a more scientific method than mine.
My desk is located where I will get and lose the signal - mostly no signal at all. I still see the occassional signal capture but no more than usual. Again, not very scientific. Nonetheless, I'll use the 2.19 since it doesn't appear to have any less performance and somebody has some measurements to support the case for this ROM.
I am confused though, since signal level is a hardware measurement (electrical measurement) and not a software issue. Oh well.
I am the one who did the measurements starter of that topic and of course still using 2.19.11
Oops ... didn't look, just read the post! I'm sure it was good for a chuckle though.
2.19.11 - Best Radio ROM
Undoubtedly, 2.19.11 is the best radio ROM for reception. I was always alternating between 1 bar and no signal at my work with 2.15 and now with 2.19.11, I have atleast 2-3 bars at all times. I am on T-mobile network.
I had numerous missed calls before but since the last 2 days after changing to 2.19.11 I haven't had one.
Hi everyone. Excellent place here. VERY helpful, and the information flows like wine!
I bought a at&t tilt, i have sim unlocked it, and installed about 4 different roms. I have ended up going back to 1.56.405.5 (radio 1.27.12.11) standar HTC rom version. I like it the best.
However, i am having a hard time figuring out info about the radio. The battery life doesnt seem to be the greatest. And my wifi signal strength is shockingly bad, or so it seems anyway.
Am i able to use a better radio with this rom? Can someone recommend something that will will work without any problems, but will be an actual improvement radio?
I've read the wiki, and have tried searching, but like a lot of other people, it almost overload of info. I would really appreciate it, im going out of town, and having this thing run at bettter performance would really make me happy.
I appreciate any recommendations!
ive been using the niki radio in my signature (downloadable in the wiki) in eastern us and have had no problems. letting everyone know where you are would help in recommending a radio
There are a whole bunch of radios, and there is no clear cut winner. As long as your radio is compatible with your rom, then you gotta test out of all the radios compatible with your rom, which one works the best.

to be honest dude radio performances vary by region; something that works great for me here in mclean, va USA probably might not work great for you. It really is just a lot of experimenting with different radios until you find one that gives you good reception and battery life. I believe that the stock htc rom is wm 6 so any wm6 radio will be compatible with the rom; just need to try, try, and try again to see what works best for you.
If you live around metro dc try the radio in my sig... but wait thats a windows mobile 6.1 radio so don't

My cellular reception is actually really nice! my main issue, is this: i live in a condo, and last night, i went out on my balcony. i was about 15 feet diagonally away from my linksys wrt54GL router, and i wasnt getting ANY wifi. the only thing seperating my phone and router was the wall.
gps signal seems great, with Garmin. Google maps however, i cant get to find a satellite to save my life!
So what everyone is saying is that noone really knows. Im in Miami using T-Mobile and i just installed HardSPL and it worked like a charm. Now i want to install a new rom and theres a bit too much info for me to untagle at this point. So far i gather that some rom's come with different and changable radio versions built in while others work with only 1 version. Now im curious.... how does one install and change these radio settings?
can i just download one and install it?
is there any thread or some sort of complied radio proformances by region? how do these radio versions differ by regional location? i have so many questions....

seems like everyone has got a radio question today but here is my answer to help u:
u need to flash a radio like u flash a rom. when u download a radio it has the customruu.exe w/ it. key is to remember one thing: wm6 roms work w/ wm6 radios and wm6.1 roms work w/ wm6.1 radio only. most roms will work with different radios unless the chef specifically has it matched to one radio only.
for more info plz read kaiser wiki.
p.s. while flashing radio ur phone has to be sync w/ pc
>> I have ended up going back to 1.56.405.5 (radio 1.27.12.11) standar HTC rom version. I like it the best
radios 1.27.xx.xx are the only that will be compatible with WM6.0 ROM. Newer 1.5x.xx.xx and 1.6x.xx.xx radios will cause the following issue:
You are going to lose multimedia sound completely: no ringtones, etc, etc.
In call sound will be likely still functional, but I don't belive that this is something you are looking forward to anyway.
I cannot recommend you the best radio for you ROM, but some would say that : 1.27.12.32 is the one.
I hope it helps.
I'm using dutty's rom WM6.1 WWE Rom. I havent changed the Radio yet. I've been using the ROM for about 2 months now and everything was working fine. But recently my phone won't ring. I can still make and receive calls though. Could the problem be because I haven't changed the Radio?
Hi There,
Not sure if anyone else has noticed but recently T-Mobile UK reception has become really poor, but on the plus side it looks like HSDPA has been rolled out.
So I've been trying a few different Radios trying to pick up the reception but making the most out of the new HSDPA.
I've tried 1.64.08.21 and 1.65.20.29 both of which get me around an average of 2 bars in Leeds. which is a bit poor, since I'll drop a bar or two which roaming, which means a loss of signal.
GPS is about the same.
What Radios do other T-Mobile'ers in the UK use?, how are you getting on?
Thanks in advance
I am using 1.65.24.36 and I am getting full reception in Brighton. I have got HSDPA as well.
This is the radio in l26 v10 rom.
I use 1.58.25.17 from the NEON (it works with any ROM which supports 1.65.* radios) and it works very well for me (Hertfordshire).
I have have tried the 1.64.* and 1.65.* radios, but the battery drain is too much for me
I reccomend the

Funny you should say that about the radios with L26s roms I have never had such good battery life. I am flashing other peoples kaisers on the strength of that alone.
Dutty is the main man for Tmobile Kaiser knowledge. He seems to have jumped ship to the Diamond though. Sure he will be really missed here if he has finished with the Kaiser
I second the vote on the NEON 1.58.25.17 radio. Using the Dutty v1 ROM, I'm getting between 4-5 bars in London on TMobile, and also noticing good battery life and GPS lockon speed.

eat my balls, I have searched, and there's nothing on T-Mobile specific for the UK, only Germany, and the advice goes back to '06.
If you'd searched before you posted you'd know that.
Thanks for all the responses, I've not tried 1.58.25.17 yet, might be worth a backtrack to see how I get on. I used to live the Dutty Rom's, his dual V2 was excellent.
1.65.20.29 performs very well around Manchester. Battery is fine and I can pick up a GPS fix with GPS Test within seconds.

Hi guys, what's the best custom GSM ROM to use for HTC Touch Pro? Should i use WM 6.1 or WM 6.5?? Is this one good coz it seems a bit outdated:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=454906
I just wanna find a good custom ROM that gives a lot of battery life and performance. And no bugs at all. Please recommend one.
EDIT: Also, since i'm not sure which ROM to use atm, i'm still sticking to the stock rom. But I find the signal kinda weak on my fone and was advised to upgrade the radio rom or something......from what i know, i have to install HardSPL first be4 flashing the radio rom, so i have 2 questions.
If i install HardSPL, does that hardreset my device? Will i lose everything or does it just install on the device and that's it?
And same with the radio rom, can i simply install it without hardresetting the device or anything related to it? I found this topic here and it seems i just need to install the cab file, is that it?

I like EnergyROM. It's 6.5 too. In my opinion, 6.5 is much better than 6.1.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=536751
thanks for ur reply, how is the battery and overall performance of ur fone compare to using the stock rom?
The battery is fine as ROMs go. I'm a heavy texter and it usually gets me through 12 hours. I hear EnergyROM uses a tad more power than other ones but I haven't really noticed.
The performance is fantastic. It's fast and responsive and I've tried several other roms. A few 6.1 ones like Elite RC 2 and 3 and a lot of the 6.5 roms and this is my favorite. Seriously, my only two gripes with it are than the messages act buggy sometimes and that my MMS doesn't work but that is a T-Mobile specific problem.
I didn't even answer your main question. The stock rom (if you have AT&T) SUCKS. It was unusable in my opinion. This is leagues above it. The stock ROM's interface would just lag everywhere. It's been so long since I've had it (and I only had the stock on for like 2 days) I can't really answer the battery life part. Flashing to a new ROM is totally worth it.
And if you flash a new radio you keep your phone exactly how it was.
i bought my HTC Touch Pro from Taiwan and the performance is quite ok to me, the TouchFlo 3D etc are fine, i just have the issue with the battery problem, it lasts barely a day for me and i have to recharge all over again whereas my old phone (SE W950i) can use up to like 4 days straight......also, i have the problem with the signal since when i'm at Uni, whenever i tried sending a SMS, it often fails and pisses me off.
Just a couple of questions....
1. when u said ur fone lasts 12 hrs a day on average, wat do u normally use ur fone for? Do u just txt? Or do u use Wifi and play music etc as well? Coz i mostly use my fone for txt and the battery drains like crazy.......
2. How can i flash a new radio without installing HardSPL, which basically hard resets my fone? Do i use CustomRUU? Coz i don't know how to use it, i'm a total newb at this since i've only just got my first WM fone a while ago.....
EDIT:
Ok i'm getting really confused. After reading through some important notes from Energy's topic which you have linked me, I am just fully lost right now by this line:
3. "If your radio does not match your rilphone.dll you can get crazy bad battery drainage. Make sure they match. There is a separate thread for that."
So what do I do? Do i first flash the radio rom and then copy the rilphone.dll (which has to match the radio rom) to somewhere on the phone? Or do i simply install the rom??
4. I live in New Zealand, any New Zealanders can recommend the best radio rom for me? My provider is Vodafone NZ
5. And also, since my phone is bought from Taiwan, i am able to input chinese on the hardware keyboard and i use chinese when i txt friends sometimes. I know there are programs like CE Star but those use the software keyboard, is there a way i can still use my hardware keyboard to input chinese?
6. After updating to a custom rom, will i still be able to install hotfix or updates for the official rom? I.e can i still install the updates/hotfixes i download from the official HTC website and apply them to the custom rom?
PS: Sorry for the amount of questions.
