Sorry for crossposting but there is not much live in HTC Touch Diamond forum. I need to revive my phone. Problem is black flat cable to power button from pcb snapped. So power button no longer works. I need that phone I have all contacts inside. Is there way how to turn it on ? After turning on I could keep it on until I get spare parts for repair.. Thanks a lot for answer
You can try to press reset button and see if phone boots.
Also you can try to get into bootloader and then press reset button.

to get into bootloader, you need to press the key combinations for the bootloader (eg. volume keys on the hd2) and then plug in the Usb cable. it will turn on into bootloader tri color.
then press the reset button with the usb cable out.
Just from a random google search, and as said in your other post too. You can try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4SEQ6AUFOI
On my HTC Kaiser the reset doesn't work if the phone is off, unless you also have it plugged in and charging, then the soft reset will turn the phone on. And you can plug or unplug the charger to get the phone to come out of sleep mode (or slide open then close the keyboard, but not all phone have keyboards).
Press reset button or get into bootloader,it is a simple question.
some older htc models will power on just by hooking up the usb... like 8125, 8525... dunno bout yours tho...

One way you may have a try is you just use some third part management tool to backup your contacts or any other data. Then you don't need the power button to turn on your phone. I wonder if it can help you.

Hi!
Using fwdn I bricked my tablet. It wont even power on.
If I keep power button PC will detect the tablet by the USB port but if I release it it will disconnect from usb.
With power button pressed you can forward boot.img, recovery.img, etc. but when I release it it will disconect from USB. If I press the button after forwarding firmware it wont power on.
I think it it not 100% dead but I dont know what to do.
I guess the partitions are broken (internal filesystem).
Does anyone have an idea or a suggestion of what should I do? There is nothing else to loose here so we can experiment
Thank you!
I'm guessing this is similar to other things I've read where people flash with other images that isn't from the iM7. I did the same thing, but mine would just flash a quick second of the splash screen then the screen would be black.
Try this...plug your tablet in with the power adapter (might work with USB too). Then hold down the home button, press the power button but keep holding the home button for about 30 seconds. If you can get into the recovery screen you should be alright.
You can check this thread:

I've been researching for days now to get this one I got off craigslist to work right (still not 100%) but it at least boots up.
Did you guys get an answer to this issue yet? I tried upgrading my iMito7 and completely bricked it. the damn thing won't even power on. I'm experiencing the exact same issue. The keys no longer function, the screen won't power up yet the light in the back is green indicating that it's fully charged.
trashed it

All these descriptions assumes your phone is turned off. (hold down power to power off device)
Holding down volume down when you power up the device should boot into a recovery menu, if not,
Try holding Down [Volume Down] + [Power ] until The Phone vibrates (This may take a little while, keep holding)
If it vibrates but still doesn't work, hold down until you feel it vibrate twice. (this will factory reset the phone, so you'll lose everything)
One last thing you can try is hold down volume down, power on the device and connect the charger. Keep holding volume down until you see an exclamation mark. Then press the following combination of buttons:
Volume up, volume down, power, volume down. This will also factory reset the device.
(this point may void warranty if not careful)
If you feel brave, you could look into using ADB to connect and launch the recovery menu if all else fails, but it can get a bit technical, and my advice is that you should have some experience with adv or flashing or similar. Google and read guides for it and decide for yourself, but remember, its better to wait for a repair on warranty than trying to fix it yourself at the risk of voiding warranty. (also, you usually get 3months warranty on the repair.
Hope this helps

Hello,
[admin; if this post is more appropriately placed somewhere else in the forum, then please move it]
Before giving up on my cellphone and resort to ordering a new one I'll ask for help here too.
Phone is a Kolina K100+ (chinese phone) running android 4.2. It is rooted but it is still running stock ROM (to my knowledge, I bought it new and have not tinkered with the ROM).
Current situation is that the phone is completely dead.
Dead as in turned off, does not light the LED when inserting the charger cable, does not react to any button presses, or combination of button presses.
I have actually no idea what have caused this situation. Granted, the phone has accidentially been dropped twice the last week but it did not turn itself off at any of the occasions. Yesterday, I noticed that the phone had turned off and I tried to turn it on. After a while I got it to go at least to the boot screen but after having to put it away (was actually standing in a line and it was my turn...) it was dead when I was able to reach for it again and after that the phone has been completely dead.
When connecting the USB cable to the computer the computer detects an unknown USB device but cannot seem to install any drivers.
Button combinations I have tried;
- power on button
- long press (~1minute) on power button
- volume down + power button
- volume up + power button
- volume up + volume down + power button
- home button (touchscreen button that is) + power button
...no luck with either combination, no reaction at all from the phone.
I have also managed to pull off the back cover from the phone and was able to disconnect the battery connector and let it lay completely powerless for a few hours before reconnect the battery to the phone and reassemble the back cover.
Any suggestions on if there are any other measures I can do or if there is something I have overlooked in trying to resurrect it?
same problem here phone just stop work i dont know why .

hello
i have nexus 5 that in the last 3 mounts was untouched because i went back to dumb phone, but now my works need me connected to the internet so...
my phone stuck on the google with the unlock\lock screen, every 2 sec its resets, then again same screen for 2 sec, over and over again.
when i try to get in boat-loader, after 2 sec it again reset and go back to the unlock\lock screen.
when i try to plug it in to PC -nothing
when i try to open the phone and check the power button, it is all good and nothing pressing on the button. and its still loops over and over(didn't tried the "band on the edge" thing -its still plastic and small parts)
if its a motherboard problem can i have a price for it and information how to replace it
and if not i am willing to try any other option
thank you and have great day
The power button doen't need anything pressing on it to be a problem.
Open the phone, remove the motherboard, quickly press and release the power button, using more pressure than normal and try again. If that doesn't work, you may have to replace the power button.
The cheapest way to replace the motherboard would be to find some selling a phone with a smashed screen and a working motherboard.

Hello Everyone. I recently got this HTC One S from a friend but it won't boot. If I want to boot it , I have to plug it in and press the power button even tho the battery is working. Sometimes before the phone even shows the HTC screen, the touch buttons blink then it boots into this screen. It's stuck like this forever. I tried accessing recovery/hboot through the power+volume buttons but it did not work. Any help to make it boot into android?

Hi, i hope i can help you.
Hold the Power and the Volume down button. When the Phone is starting and the touch buttons are blinking DO NOT let go the buttons until the screen turns black. Now let go the buttons and press them again immedeatly (up to 15 seconds) until the screen turns on again. Now you should be in fastboot/hboot.
If you need further help, I'm around.
Good luck

It doesn't work since the phone auto startsup for some reason even if I unplug the battery, and replug it.

So you tried the procedure with plugged and unplugged battery and non of the hardware buttons is responding?
If so, and the computer doesn't recognize the device in any way, you need someone smarter than me. I'm sorry.
My next tip would be to disassemble the device and check for hardware problems.
I hope you find a solution

My computer detects it as an android device but can't mount it and adb/fastboot wont recognise it
