[ROM] Official 2.2 (HTC 2.09 and 2.10): busybox, A2SD+, TUN, EXT4, Undervolt, SYSRW - Desire Android Development

Hi all
I decided to give you an update for the apparently much-used 2.09 ROM
This is fully rooted, kept completely stock with the following small mods,
mostly for powersaving and ease-of-use.
The following additions were made:
- Busybox + Latest su and SuperUser.apk.
- Still has A2SD+, a bit cleaner implementation this time. (Fully depends on whether or not you create an EXT partition, which can be EXT2/3 or 4.)
- OpenVPN and TUN
- Wifi module edited to make sure it never goes into standby.
- Symlinked /data/local/bootanimation.zip for easy bootanimation replacements.
- Cpufreq_interactive governor as default. This is slightly better than ondemand.
- Default undervolting by 75mV-100mV -> Major powersaving.
- UnionFS-FUSE overlay filesystem for /system. This makes /system writeable, and therefore allows you to use stuff like MetaMorph.
Thanks to tgreer for hosting my stuff!
Make sure you pick the correct radio to go with these two ROMs. It's a bad idea to use an older ROM with a newer radio, or vice-versa, seeing as these ROMs have updated RILs.
*updated* HTC 2.10 ROM
32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 radio (recommended for 2.10 - new RIL)
Older HTC 2.09 ROM
32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20 radio (recommended for 2.09)

is this de-odexed?

lol that was fast mate cheers will flash to ther halfs phone when she gets back lol

Not atm.
It is kept close to stock. Custom ROMs later on will be deodexed, based on this.

Great job mate. No fuss. Straight in there.

surprised...

Most probably not I guess (since the OTA also is odexed). But f*ck that, dex files just waste space on your data partition anyway.

excellent misdirection...a majority of us were following 42turkeys little run around and here you were waiting for us.

How about some credit's in the OP to the right people.

nice nice nice downloading now

That's fantastic.

Can anyone OC this Rom pls

YAY
Awesome mate!
Will take the plunge as soon as my DL is finished.
You've added exactly the bits I need (especially the OpenVPN).

Anyone tested this yet?

Fantastic up thanks
Anyone tried it yet lol

Thanks a ton m8.... will try this one instead of the few others posted

Dlding now but speed down to 100kb/s, gone tast asap.
EDIT: thnx for adding the app2sd busybox and vpn settings ;-)

and now the whole thing without f**** SENSE please ...

Can't seem to install this. It only says (Bad)

[ROM] 09/09 2.2 - MoDaCo Custom ROM - Hero to Dream port (optional 4.1.6)

READ FIRST - I am no longer updating my ROMs - details.
If you're following the Hero scene, you'll know that I have published a custom ROM based on the 1.73.405.5 shipping ROM. I have a Vodafone Magic (32B) and a T-Mobile G1 kicking around (and HTC want my PR review unit Hero back!), so figured it would be cool to firstly build a really simple way for me to package my ROMs for all 3 devices, and secondly try and produce an update.zip that runs on all 3!
Well, the first step is here, I have the MoDaCo Custom ROM ready to install on your Sapphire 32B device (if anyone can point me at a boot.img / kernel that runs this on 32A, i'll include that in the package (I can't test 32A)).
Things you should know...
- Contents are IDENTICAL to the MoDaCo Custom ROM core version detailed here.
- I have used cyanogen's kernel from 4.0.4 (big respect to cyanogen, he's doing awesome work!)
- Now compcache ready - use this script for a big performance boost!
It has room for improvement, and given the serious lack of ROM on the G1, I think optimising is a priority. Hopefully it will also provide a useful base for some other chefs. All that said and done tho, I don't think in it's current state it's unusable!
The download link (in update.zip format for flashing in the usual way via recovery image) is at: http://android.modaco.com/content/h...-09-2-1-modaco-custom-rom-hero-to-dream-port/
I've packaged Cyanogen's 4.1.6 BFS enabled Kernel and wlan.ko as an update.zip too (see above thread) - nandroid backup before applying!
I've quoted some of my original Hero post here, so you know what you're getting. Enjoy!

This ROM is based on the Generic 2.73.405.5 release version of the 'new update' (together with my own optimisations) for the best possible performance! The ROM is now available in 2 versions - 'core' and 'enhanced' by popular request.
Included in both 'core' and 'enhanced' versions
- Rooted with 'adb remount' permission and superuser APK
- A2SD included (fully automatic - thanks cyanogen!) - create a EXT3 partition as your second partition to use. dalvik-cache remains on device. EXT4 is NOT supported.
- Added Jbed Java
- Added Spare Parts (run it and switch the 2 animation types to 'fast' for an even better experience!)
- Added Custom Locale for setting non english Locales
- Added android-wifi-tether 1.52 (props to the developer, this is a great app!)
- Added WMSM
- Added busybox 1.15 - tweaked such that 'get information' in Swapper now works as desired
- Added nano 2.09 - text editor for use in shell mode
- Added terminfo and settings to boot.img to allow nano etc. use
- Added tun.ko file (untested, please report on whether this is useful)
- Added files required for Debian linux
- Moved Quickoffice to data partition to allow easy uninstall
- Deleted 'Learn More' application
- Deleted Maps application - install from the Android Market to always stay up to date
- ROM now includes touch focus in Camera app
- ROM now supports shortcuts using BetterCut (and therefore I assume anycut!) in Rosie
- Silenced boot sound (it's still there and can be reactivated with a file edit)
- You can now check your MoDaCo Custom ROM (MCR) version from the about menu. It will display MCR2.0 (core) or MCR2.0e (enhanced).
- Fix for HTC Peep on Vodafone now available here!

It is based on a newer build of Hero. So it should technically be better. May need some optimization for the G1 though.
I'm running CM v4.1.4 right now, I can just flash this without any other modification? Would a wipe be advisable?

Yeeeahhh.
The blaze is about to be set!
Got a question....
Are there any devs out there that can build a ROM from the ground up? Maybe a Hero clone that doesn't require so much space and resource? I've noticed (not being anything close to a dev) that you guys take a ROM developed by some techie at HTC and cook it to bring the rest of us enjoyment and peace with our phones, but does any dev have the know-how to develope a "Hero" ROM designed for the G1?
If this is retarded, just ignore the post and tell me to go brick my G1. Word...

[ROM][32A] CaSense 1.2 - official Sense UI etc. (upd. Jan 19th)

This ROM was originally based on MyHero 2.0.2, but now is going its own separate way. This is (at least for now) still pretty much just vanilla Sense UI 32A ROM with just some minor adjustments to be more to my liking.
Now, let me thank a few people:
Big thanks to redglasses for creating and improving the great MyHero ROM, to hotweiss for the very same reasons with his HoFo ROM and to eugene373 for using my 32A kernel package with his Magic 3G UnI ROM and therefore making it easier for me in return to use it with the official Sense UI update.
Special thanks to Cyanogen for creating and sharing his kernel source code and to TigerTael for creating his 32A kernel offset patch.
Also thanks to Amon_RA, chris-steenkamp, eViL D:, maxisma, Radix999, bcrook, Qteknology and many others and of course to XDA itself.
Changelog and misc. other info in the second post, please read it.

v1.2
- Available as either a no-wipe update for 1.1.1 or full ROM
- New 2.6.29 kernel with BFS-313 and RNDIS wired tethering support (many thanks to Zinx and Cyanogen), logcat support enabled
- Because this update is 2.6.29 only, there's no bluetooth support AT ALL - if you need bluetooth, just stick with 1.1.1 as the changes in 1.2 are pretty much kernel related only anyway (but it should be possible to use 2.6.27 kernel package for 1.1.1 to "downgrade" the kernel in 1.2 to get bluetooth working, I just didn't test it yet)
- Added Wired tether app by harry_m
- Updated User Conf editor, Market Enabler and Wireless tether to their latest versions
- Pulse Clock add-on for all CaSense versions now available (not included in 1.2 by default), see below for explanation
v1.1.1
- Apply on top of v1.1 without wiping
- Misc. minor maintenance
- Linux swap (swappiness 30) now enabled by default if your third partition ( /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 ) on SD card is type linux-swap. I don't recommend using swap partition larger than 64MB.
- Added UserConf Editor 0.2 app by AndroidAppCritic for easier editing of user.conf file. Please note that user.conf is located at /system/bin/user.conf in this ROM, not at the default location this app expects it.
- Added some notification sounds and ringtones
- All notification sounds and ringtones converted to Ogg for better ring/notification response. After applying this update and rebooting, please verify ALL your ringtone/notification settings! That's the price of no-wipe update.
- Trackball glow notification (hopefully) finally works now.
v1.1
- Defaulting to kernel 2.6.27 from HTC sources now because of bluetooth issues with other kernels. Hopefully, this is just temporary, because it's slower. You can choose different kernel though, see below for explanation.
- Full Chinese support included in the main ROM this time - both localization and text input.
- Bluetooth should be working fine this time with the default kernel (both A2DP and HSP).
- A2SD disabled - there should be no more problems during first startup if you have ext2/3 partition. Ext2/3 support is still available in all the kernels, ext4 is supported only with 2.6.29 kernel.
- Alternative kernel packages will be available later (including logcat enabled kernels)
- Changes in the APN list. If it does not work for you, provide me the correct APN settings so I can change it.
- Removed Learn More (does anybody need it?)
- Spare Parts working now
- Added Blur animations
Known issues:
- Duplicated entries under ringtones/notification sounds.
v1.0
- Cyanogen-based kernel with BFS304 and my own config (new Case kernel v1.3)
- Root finally works! This means that everything that needs root hopefully works as well (wifi tethering etc.)
- LEDs, GPS, multitouch, camera, prediction works fine, as far as I can tell
- Protected apps should download from the Market just fine
- Multilanguage
- APN list for automatic APN config at setup. Added Vodafone CZ to the list, of course
- Log is disabled in the kernel for speed improvements. I can offer log enabled kernel as an update if there's someone who wants it.
- ROM is compcache/swap ready. I've disabled both by default, but you can easily change that in /system/bin/user.conf if you wish. I personally think that even on 32A, Sense UI needs some form of swap to run properly. YMMV. It should also be A2SD ready, but I didn't really test that - I don't use A2SD, as I think on 32A it just slows the phone down.
- Removed some apps I really don't use at all: AK Notepad, Stocks+widget, Footprints+widgets, Plurk+widget, KKBOX, HTC_CIME, HTC Sync. These are available separately as an add-on.
- Added some apps: Superuser permissions (of course), Market Enabler, Spare Parts (broken in v1.0), More locale, Wireless Tether. Apart from Superuser they should be uninstallable.
- Usual shell scripts available (rwsystem etc.)
- Bluetooth does not work properly.
- Chinese input does not work.
Kernel packages explained:
Apply the kernel package of your choice AFTER you've flashed the main ROM. No wipe! If you want to use the first, plain 2.6.27 kernel, you just need to flash the main ROM, it's already included in it.
2.6.27 - default kernel included in v1.1. Compiled using the official HTC sources. This package is provided so that you can get back to default kernel without flashing the full ROM if you've tried some other kernel package. Contains backported squashfs 4.0, loadable modules include compcache 0.5.4, CIFS support, IPv6 and quite a few other options. No BFS. Full (A2DP/HSP) bluetooth support with v1.1 ROM. Slowest of the three, but pretty much full-featured and stable (hopefully).
2.6.27BFS - Compiled using the official HTC sources. This kernel is pretty much identical to the first one, but contains backported BFS304. That means it's a little faster than the first one (YMMV), however, as BFS304 was never meant to be used with 2.6.27, it's also somehow unstable. The critical moment, as it seems, is during the "unlocking SIM card" phase on the first boot, especially if you've flashed the main ROM, addon package and kernel package in one go without rebooting. So, applying this kernel package over ROM that is already configured seems much safer right now. But as I've said - it's considered unstable, so bear that in mind. Full (A2DP/HSP) bluetooth support with v1.1 ROM. Most unstable of the three.
2.6.29BFS - Compiled using Cyanogen sources. This kernel is without a doubt the fastest of the three, however, as of right now, it doesn't support bluetooth. AT ALL. If you try to enable bluetooth with this kernel, it'll just say "turning on" forever and never finish. So, before applying this kernel package, make sure you've got bluetooth disabled (if you want to flash this kernel after the main ROM in one go, it's OK, bluetooth is off by default). This kernel is recommended for those that don't need bluetooth. Most advanced and fastest of the three.
log alternatives - They're the same as the plain kernels except with logcat enabled for debugging purposes, which means they're also a bit slower than the plain kernel.
Pulse Clock add-on explained:
This is just very minor add-on for all CaSense ROM versions. You just apply it without wiping over your current CaSense install. This add-on simply replaces the plain default Android analog clock I prefer to use (the widget available through Android widget - Analog clock, with the white "Malmo" clockface - not the HTC clock) with the analog clock from T-Mobile Pulse. I like the Pulse clock better and I think it fits with Sense UI much nicer than the default Android analog clock. YMMV.
Sounds interesting i give it a try and report back. Just in case , do you have a NON-BFS Kernel ? From my Experience BFS slows the UI down a lot :-( ... but i try first before i complain :-D

Twitter widget is in the main ROM. However, the addon contains all the apps and widgets I've removed from the main ROM, so if you install it, you've got everything that's in the vanilla Sense UI ROM (and then some ). I've modified the text so it is clearer, it was a bit cryptical before, yes.

again great expectation & congrats on grand opening

sorry for being a noob, should i just push let's say, HTC_CIME.apk to /data/app_s without the need to install it from ASTRO?
also I think we would appreciate if u could include the best sdcard environment (eg. FAT32+linux-swap or ???) so i can use the same for best performance -> FAST
I wonder if for my 32A, do we still need a dedicated linux-swap as a 3rd partition on our sdcard? because sdcard with FAT32 only did work smoothly for me but I read everywhere else that addition 3rd partition will smooth things even more.....
pls offer me your 2cent

I think the only way to install odexed apps is directly, by using adb push, not with Astro or other app manager, but I may be mistaken. Anyway, you most certainly need to push BOTH HTC_CIME.apk and HTC_CIME.odex to app_s, otherwise it won't work.
As for the SD card setup, I'm using FAT32+64MB linux swap with swappiness at around 30 for some time and I'm quite satisfied with it. But for all the tinkering with ROMs and kernels and regular work I didn't even find much time to test compcache properly, so I can't really say that objectively what is best. And I certainly didn't have time to check the speed and memory requirements this new Sense UI properly.
However, as I've said, I find that Sense UI in general simply needs more memory, even on 32A (and even on Hero, according to my friend). Without swap i was quite often getting hiccups and slowdowns after only a few hours of use - even though I'm in the habit of closing the unneeded background apps regularly, I was still getting something like 20MB of free memory quite soon. And the phone doesn't really perform that great once you go below something like 25-30MB free RAM. Swap most definitely helped me to solve these issues and Sense UI runs great for me - no major slowdowns and need to reboot to clear memory for days, if I REALLY need to.
So yes, as I've said, I most certainly recommend at least some kind of swap for Sense UI.
the main mirror speed is quite reasonable
around 70-80k/s.

[ROM][32B][FAST][v1.1.2] KiNgxKxKlair DroidEris2G1

In case nobody saw the DroidEris over at G1 forums, i will post it here for Kingsklick.
Android 2.1 with Sense UI - and may i add, the fastest one out there (faster than ANY hero ROM's ive tried, and with a few exceptions i tried them all).
This might aswell have been a HTC official release, i'm not kidding - it really is so fast.

i will get my NEW MAGIC in 2 days.. you got more time
can you upload some pics?
I've got this on my 32B and it really is the fastest "hero" ROM by far. However, I do have a problem, wifi doesn't work. My phone can see networks when scanning but I simply can't get it to connect at all.
Anyone know a solution?

Well it just started working with no other intervention than the passing of time....
About an 1/2 an hour after posting I noticed my phone was saying it was connected to a wifi network. It just started working. I didn't reset my router.

I recommend that you setup your Swap settings with this info:
Swappiness: 40
Swap size: 96 MB
use Swap partition
Is swap required?
Have this running for 5 days now best Rom I ever flashed.

whats the best way to do this for this rom.... i tried using the user.conf method and it seemed to slow it down....
then tried the userinit.sh method and same diffrence
unless the user config files i have are just botched from old roms.....
also i tried a adb pull of the user.conf file and it said it didnt exist mounted/un-mounted didnt make a diff.

i would also like to know. the only other method that i know of is going through terminal, but everytime you reboot the values are reset and you have to manually set swappiness through terminal again.
I seem to not be able to mount the phone as a disk drive using this rom.

[PATCH] CM Kernels 10MB-RH and NON-RH for King's SenseHybrid 2.3

Hey all, this is a patch that will change out the kernel for King's SenseHybrid 2.3. I use this rom pretty much daily. It is a cupcake based hero, just this update speeds up the performance a bit.
Instructions:
-Wipe everything!
-Install King's 2.3 SenseHybrid (Please follow his directions.)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563294&highlight=SenseHybrid
- Flash this update immediately after flashing King's rom
- Reboot and enjoy!
ChangeLog:
Updates user.conf (if you don't like it, change it )
Virtual mem settings adjusted
proc_cpu_en=0 # to save battery life
Updates Kernel to CM 4.2.15.1
Removes:
Meebo
HeroLED
AKNotepad
teeter
Adds:
Free Advanced Task Manager (Useful)
****I just posted a 10MB ram hack version in the thread below. It uses CM 4.2.14.1 with CFS instead.****
If you like it, then great! I've been experimenting with using different kernels on different people's roms. I'm new to it, but if anyone has any tips, they are greatly appreciated.
Red.
PS. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ABOUT BT! IF YOU HAVE READ ANYTHING ON THIS SITE CONCERNING HERO ROMS ON A G1/DREAM THEN YOU WOULD KNOW BETTER AND WOULDN'T RISK BEING FLAMED.
Sounds good I was going to flash the sensehybrid soon anyways so this sounds perfect.
Wait a few minutes..
If you can hold off a bit, I am also making a 10MB ram hack version with CM 4.2.14.1 CFS. Just testing now.
Red.
CM 4.2.14.1 10MB Ram Hack with CFS
Here is another one that you can flash immediately after flashing king's 2.3. This uses the 4.2.14.1 CM kernel and the CFS 10MB ram hack. I absolutely hate BFS on G1/Dreams! Anyways, this one should run faster. I would also look into the thread that has been posted recently about speeding up hero roms and change the line in your init.rc to keep rosie in memory. just copy the init.rc onto your sdcard and edit it with notepad++ (windows program, it is great!) and then copy it back to your root over the existing init.rc and reboot. (if this is complicated, then don't try it.)
Otherwise, Enjoy!!
will this work without an ext/swap partition?
Without ext partition...
Honestly, if you are using the Death SPL and you are running this with my ram hack, you should be ok. Unfortunately, the compcache on King's earlier roms are usually broken. I tried pushing ramzswap from the CM kernel and still no luck, but then again, I'm not as savy as some of the other dev's out there. You will just have to edit the user.conf after you finish flashing the two, you want to do the following:
First, before flashing you want to pull the user.conf from the system/bin/ directory in king's zip file. edit the user.conf using notepad++ in windows and change the linuxswap=1 to 0 so that it turns it off. then copy that file to your sdcard.
immediately after flashing the two files,
-go to console from the recovery and type the following
mv /sdcard/user.conf /system/bin/
reboot
this will disable the linuxswap and then you will be able to run the rom. But again it would be better with a swap partition.
Hope this helps.

Same here, WG is great. I tried the RH CFS patch, but I got an error while flashing it. Had to restore from switchrom.
where's the wg-kernel patch for 1.5 hero roms?
Also, does multitouch still work with THIS patch?
boot loop...
?
Chabsie, telling me u got a boot loop doesn't help me resolve the problem much. You must have DeathSPL for this rom, Must be full wipe, and EXT4 partition. If that doesn't help, please list the stats for your phone, which hack u are using and where your issue occurs.
Jcarrz, WG kernel version of this is released in another thread. It is on 2nd or third page, just search.
Thanks.

Just a question, since im not an expert. but how is this cupcake based hero, when CM 4.2.15.1 is donut based? Also thanks i will give it a try now.

HTC developed the sense UI and this port is from the HTC Hero or the earlier Droid Eris (Prior to upcoming update from Verizon to 2.1.) Both of those phones use Cupcake as the base and then Sense UI is just a pretty cover for it. The kernel I used is from CM's Donut based roms, which is more than compatable, but again, the framework and ramdisk and everything else reflects a 1.5 environment. Enjoy the patch.

Just go back into system menu and re-sync manually and give it a minute. It will work fine. I had that happen on one of the trials.

You may like this one better.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654789
This is the Wes Garner Ramhack. It should be slightly faster. I think that you still need to have a partition though because of the apps to sd. You would have to do complete wipe for this one again.

[ROM] [20/08] Pre-rooted Stock Gingerbread (3.14.405.1) [Optional Mods]

For those familiar with my pre-rooted stock Froyo ROM, this is the first release of HTC's official HTC Desire Gingerbread ROM. As before, the base ROM is entirely stock, but with the following minimal changes:
Added root (including busybox)
Superuser App - 2.3.6.3 (ChainsDD)
init.d support
This ROM requires a full wipe to install. There is no option here - the ROM will automatically wipe your phone's storage (excluding the sdcard). Therefore it's highly recommended to do a back up before installing.
The ROM does not include the radio, but you should install this at the same time you install the ROM, if you don't have this version already. The radio supplied with HTC's release is 5.17.05.23 and this is provided below.
3.14.405.1 INIT.D ROM
Download 3.14.405.1 Stock ROM (1.0-test)
md5: de99e70682971b183ed65abc6e2fc62d
Download 5.17.05.23 Radio
md5: 738a94c891a6a10082c8bf9f5c4884ba
OPTIONS
Below are some mods to this ROM (more will follow). They are purely optional, and of course take you further away from the stock ROM. Remember that all of these mods are designed to work with this ROM specifically, and not others.
UPDATE APPS (1.0) - updated || 03/08
This will update your system Google apps to the latest market versions: Maps 5.8.0, Gmail 2.3.5.
POWERSAVING MODULES - updated || 10/08
This reduces your battery usage by slightly undervolting, and by forcing the CPU down to 245MHz when the screen is off (it will also fall to 245MHz when idle). Additionally, when battery capacity falls below 30%, the maximum speed will be 800MHz, less than 20% it will be 700MHz and less than 10% it will be limited to 380MHz. When your phone is connected to a charger, it will boost performance a bit when the screen is on, and the speed will not be limited.
A2SD (1.0) - updated || 05/08
With this mod your apps will be saved to the sdcard instead of internal storage. Gingerbread includes enhanced support for moving apps to your sdcard, but not all can be moved, and so this isn't sufficient for everybody. If you need more space, this will help. For this to work you need your sdcard formatted with two partitions, the first a regular FAT partition for general use, the second an ext2/ext3 partition exclusively for A2SD. If you install the mod without a second partition A2SD will not be activated, but it will automatically start up if you create the partition later on your next boot.
MINOR TWEAKS & EXT4 (2.0) - updated || 20/08
This mod will install the default boot animation to the data area, where you can replace it with a custom one if you want to. It also allows hosts modification (you can use the AdFree Android app - do not use the symlink option in it). You will need to re-apply this mod if you do a full wipe. 2.0: Add ext4 support.
REMOVE BOOTSOUND (1.0) - updated || 04/08
Disables the sound on boot up.
INSTALLATION
Your phone must be rooted with custom recovery to install this ROM. There are plenty of guides on how to do this simple procedure. The recommended steps for installation are as follows:
Back up your contacts, apps and text messages to your sdcard; reboot the phone into custom recovery; perform a full backup in recovery; install the radio (select 'install zip from sdcard'); install the ROM; reboot.
After you update the radio the phone will reboot a couple of times, this is normal. The first regular boot may take a little longer than usual.
FAQ
Q. I have installed the official HTC developer Gingerbread update. Can I install this?
A. The preview of the new version of Alpharev (Revolutionary) should be able to help you with this.
Q. Do I need to install this radio?
A. No, but it's highly recommended.
Q. Does this support 720p?
A. Yes. It supports everything that the official ROM supports.
Q. My wifi disconnects occasionally - I had no problem in froyo.
A. This is a problem with the official ROM. It cuts the wifi connection if the signal falls low and switches to your data connection. There will be an optional mod to revert this soon.
Q. Can I use this with Alpharev?
A. Yes. But your system partition must be 250mb.
Hi Teppic,
I'm still using your froyo rom. Thank you very much, runs very smoothly. I didn't use the a2sd+ you included there but i need more room now.
How much space is left to install apps after installing this rom?
Will you include a powersaving modpack?
If you add some form of apps to sd will you give us the option of keeping dalvik cache on the internal memory? (If I have read correctly, this gives least lag)

I think there's about 120mb free on a clean installation. Remember that in Gingerbread the official apps to sd function is better than in Froyo, and might be enough.
I need to spend more time to get other mods sorted out, but I thought it would be best to get the base rom out immediately.
altough I'm an AOSP fan this seems an excelent choice to go stock.
tks
Thanks for this, I was a big fan of your Froyo rom!
Looking forward to A2SD support.
Thanks a lot teppic74 for this ROM.
I'm using your Froyo ROM since months and will use this Gingerbread ROM as soon as the powersaving modpack will be available.
One mod that could be very useful is DATA2SD : [DEV][DATA2SD] More space (and more I/O) for your Desire (Updated/EXT4/Flashable ZIP). I'm using it with success on your Froyo rom.
Thanks for this release!
Only reason I'm on Sense is due to the lack of an aosp rom supporting 720p recording on the Desire, and this makes it nice knowing I don't have to get locked in with the new hboot etc.
Thanks!
i heard this rom just for development testing and not every day use, what thing are laggy/buggy in this rom thanks. i heard battery is terrible...
Cool & thanks! I'm also still on your Froyo A2SD... (in spite of being tempted many times by the earlier sense GB ports... I want something stable and stock-like)
I made a few home-made mods on your Froyo (install a few more apps to system, like the brilliant widgetsoid).
Anyway, as soon as your A2SD GB out, I'll try it

I've been reading a lot about the HTC release. There's nothing wrong with the HTC ROM... (Other than being unrootable and irreversible). If you want to discuss the HTC ROM though, there are other threads about it.

Sorry, to clarify: it's the original GingerBread Sense ROM from HTC that, if installed using the HTC release (RUU), will be unrootable and irreversible (at the moment - with all current tools).
All custom ROMs derived from it, are pre-rooted and reversible.

720p recording/playback works for me. That said, although tough lighting conditions, it seems *only imo, and I'm sure it;s just my eyes as doubt anything changed* it seems worse. Could just be me though.
