I have created a Live wallpaper.
2Cube--
It has 2 co-centric cubes rotating continuously and will follow your touch on the touch screen.
Low on resources...Battery Friendly...
Please do give it a try...
Can't find it in the market
Sent from my HTC Liberty using XDA App
Just installed on my Samsung Galaxy Spica and it works a treat. One of the only live wallpapers that doesn't lag my phone
Real basic (can be good or bad) but I am thinking that was the point. Would like to see some options, like change the two cube colors individually, and custom backgrounds.

Well, I gotta say I love the Slide2Unlock app. So, I figured I'd share my background and start a place for others to share as well.
Jin of Samurai Champloo fame.
(Regular & Widescreen)

If any of you have not seen this on youTube you should. As they say, it's the best 5 second vid on the net.

for QVGA
do a 320x240 bmp for landscape
and a 240x320 for portrait
put them in the RES folder of your Slide2Unlock dir
name them wallpaperL.bmp (landscape)
and wallpaper.bmp (portrait)
I have 3 new ones now. . .
i have 3, but this is the only one i use... the other 2 are the earth one that Apple has been showing off lately, and another earthy-space like thing, i dont know why i like those so much...but this one i like the best
How about posting some of thesee for download.. portrait and landscape modes.
here are mine. I just made the landscape one, so I'm not sure how good it looks, I never use landscape myself. I am working on a dialer skin that matches the theme now as well.
portrait:

landscape:

i'm not sure why they were converted to png, i use bmp myself. Not sure it matters to the program though, I just decided to use what it was using from the beginning.
There are hundreds of Pocket PC wallpapers (both in QVGA and VGA) as well as a free web-based theme creator at www.pocketpcscreens.com

Great app! Here's mine...
will this work with my g900 ie the 800x480 screen...
Another source for images of the correct size are the splash screens for the TomTom Go x00 series (search the net there are hundreds available) - don't use the splash screens for the x10 devices though as these are the wrong size - Mike
Robot Chicken wallpapers
Here are some robot chicken goodies.
I also have the closing theme song as my ring tone. Get that here.
I know you can make your own which I don't want to. Are there any fullsize Tab wallpapers (no live wallpapers) which I can download to my Tab and which I don't have to cut specially for the Homescreen before making it a wallpaper? Like the ones which come with 3rd party launchers)...
Thx.

Try "Flikie HD" from Market.

I don't wanna save pictures from the net, as you have to cut them. I said that, rapax.
@AnttiV: Thx, man. Exactly what I'm looking for. A HD Wallpaper app which doesn't use your data (contacts etc.).
The google search I linked to only returns images that already have exactly the right size. No cutting needed.
1 - Guys, flikkie is very nice, but what's the resolution of the pictures it has?
2 - I have a folder with 1024x600 wallapapers and if I try to use them, the gallery crops them, how can I install them? My tab is rooted.

I'm pretty certain you need 1200x1024. Scrolling left and right across the homescreens requires half a screens width to either side of the central screen. If you use a smaller image, what you're effectively doing is scaling it up and then cropping. You end up using a scaled up version of a 703(?)x600 section of your image.
1200x1024?? Where the hell are we going to find wallpapers in that res???
Did you try that?
There may be some different rules on size here since the entire UI supports portrait and landscape. If the rule for a panning static wallpaper is in fact double resolution, then you would need images in 2048x1024 reslolution so that the panning still works correctly in landscape as well.
EDIT: Nope, 1200x1024 appears to be what it prefers to use uses either way, the interface simply scales down the panning percentage when in portrait. Just make sure the subject of the photo is no more than half of the height of the full image or it may look a little funny in portrait.
Flikkie HD's wallapapers aren't so "HD", they look worse than my 1024x600 ones, but they work FINE.
Sigh..someone has to tell us for sure, I can't find any info on that.
Rapax was RIGHT. I checked the default wallapaper found at root / system / wallapaper / default wallpaper and it has the weird...1200x1024 resolution....damn...
@ Beestee - I just saw your edit. Yep..1200x1024 it is...

That explains a lot, thx. I always wondered.
To me the Flikie Wallpapers look good. It's not perfect, but good.
@rapax: Ah, ok thx. I thought because of the different resolution (compared to the display resolution) I had to crop them too. Will try it these days with these wallpaper size!
PROBLEM guys. Even if you try to choose a 1200x1024 wallpaper, it STILL CROPS IT.
The only method that works now is using the Flikkie HD app....
I reckon the only way to use them without being cropped would be to install them in the wallpaper folder.. ( launcher.apk ? )
But if you do that, wouldn't you need a cooked rom? It seems to me the phone would crash if you put any more walls in there..
Hi
I had the same problemes with croppy wallpapers so I wrote a small app to set an wallpaper on the galaxy tab. With this app they won't get scaled or cropped. Start the app, select Wallpaper wait and you have a perfect wallpaper Just be sure that the wallpaper is in the right size.
Have fun
Added some nice wallpapers with the right size.
Thanks hateman
Guys, just checked the Flikkie HD wallpapers : 960x854
EDIT: Flikkie HD will set the wallapaper even if it has a higher res. Just put a 1280x1024 wallpaper in Flikkie's folder and it worked just fine

What a great little tool to avoid bad wallpaper compression! Works very nicely, thanks for your generosity!
Preciate Ya hateman....really do

Yeah, works fine, thanks a lot!
Here is a collection of my wallpaper 1200x1024. Hope you will like them.
Hateman is the MAN! That app kicks butt! Now i can load my Sprint wallpapers to my Verizon Tab correctly!
I made some quick Launcher Pro icons for Brooklyn's finest plumber, and some of his crew.
To be totally honest, I just took the icons from this site:
http://ph03nyx.deviantart.com/art/Super-Mario-Icons-for-Windows-80735574
He said it's ok as long as it's for personal use, and as I'm not selling these or taking donations, I would assume it's ok. If not please let me know.
And then I used the super major brothers font found here:
http://mfs.sub.jp/font.html
Google translate said that it stated it was ok to use for non commercial purposes
and finally, I suggest using this as your launcher pro dock:
http://launcherpro.droidicon.com/docks/mario-blocks-full-1539
I included the dock in the zip, but stop by that site and rate it 5!
If you have beautiful widgets, theres a nice 8 bit clock and weather theme that go with the whole theme.
I attached a screen shot with the widgets and the mario live wallpaper
So far, I'm pleased with how they came out. If you are a mario fan, you may want to check them out. I have a lot of mario sounds too, but I found those through various sites and have no way to prove they are kosher, so I can't post those, but overall, I'm pleased with my super mario themed phone!
A few are previewed below, along with the zip of all of them. 19 icons and the dock are in the zip. I tried to get all the basics and a few extras. If you have any requests or suggestions for new ones, let me know.
I don't use icons , but I'll try these. Awesome thanks. Anyone got Level 1-1 for a wallpaper?
looks great!
These are awesome, man! Good job.
Cool icons...for anyone interested there is a mario live wallpaper in the market that would go great with these!
Swyped from my HTC Evo 4G on the MetroPCS 1X network!
You know the old saying "live wallpapers lag your phone"? NOT MINE. It's the complete OPPOSITE for me. Regular picture wallpapers create a lot of lag no matter what the resolution of the photo is and how I crop the image to set the wallpaper, EVEN factory wallpapers.... Switch over to Live wallpapers and its PERFECT. No lag at all. There's two main reasons for posting this question. Well three actually. One is I don't want to use a live wallpaper, I have many nice regular static picture wallpapers that I'd like to use. Two, I'd LOVE to find out why the hell and HOW can this be happening? How can live wallpapers be the complete opposite? And thirdly is I know posting on this website, I'd be most likely to get a good answer and maybe fixed. Using motorola droid razr HD xt925.
Hi there,
I'm looking for a default Live Wallpaper which existed on older android phones (such as the Samsung Galaxy S1, I believe) to use on my HTC One (M7).
Its title/description was: "Galaxy: A galaxy made of slowly swirling stars"
The Wallpaper consisted of a little white dots (symbolizing stars, obviously) revolving around a 'black hole' on a black background. When you switched homescreens, the camera perspective of the galaxy would shift slightly with each transition (the main attractive feature of this particular galaxy wallpaper for me).
I've found no videos of it activated, closest was one where it was simply listed in the options. I can't share the link since I'm a new user, but the title is "Samsung Galaxy S live wallpapers on Nexus One".
After searching various forums, the closest I came was one Wallpaper which is very close to the original, but it has no transition animations and is a bit too far zoomed out. It apparently came from a custom ROM. Again, can't share the link, but it was on androidforums and was downloadable as "galaxy4.apk"
Does anyone have any idea as to where I can find this old default wallpaper online?
Otherwise, would I be able to request someone to extract from their device, if it has it of course, and compile it so that I and anyone else with the same request can use it on their devices?
Thank you!
