[Wimax Radio] Wimax 26023_r01 for Evo 4g - EVO 4G Android Development

Geek for Me is proud to release:
Updated Wimax.img for (version 26023_r01) for Evo 4g running Sprint OTA 3.26.651.3 (Android 2.2)
This has only been tested and confirmed as working on Fresh Evo 3.0 (release coming) but will work on every 3.26.651.3 based rom
Do not flash this unless you are running a 3.26.651.3 rom -- Fresh Evo 3.0+
If your wimax is broken, then this will not fix it! This is simply for Fresh Evo users who have not messed with other radios and need to update
If your wimax is already broken then check one of the numerous threads on xda that help with that. Let me reitterate... this will not fix a broken wimax!
Don't hold me responsible if you brick your phone
This is the new one from the 3.26.651.3 OTA
Flashing it is the same as flashing a regular radio. Ignore the fact that the instructions are for the Hero, they are very similar for the Evo. Check this post for how to flash it: How To: Flash a Radio Update Sprint HTC Hero
DOWNLOAD: http://geekfor.me/evo/radio/wimax-26023r01/
Edit: I didn't realize avalaunch had these inside his rom thread, my mistake.

Jw are the versions of these radio and wimax updates diff from the ones ava posted

Unless I'm missing something, avalaunch only included them in the update.zip for his rom. They are not separate files......
Edit: Nevermind, I thought his extra links were mirrors. I didn't realize they were for each of the downloads. My mistake. You can let this thread drop off if you want, but it will be here for anyone looking for the radios.

nandroid backup, flash this zip, backup again... now restoring back and forth while running speed test 3 times after each switch - getting consistent results:
old wimax: 300Kbps to 550Kbps down & solid ~120Kbps up
new wimax: 50Kbps to 120Kbps down & solid ~120Kbps up
results are consistent, and wimax radio was the only change between switches.
EDIT: i'll try again once i'm home, i get a much weaker signal there. will be a better comparison for the radio versions.

Chances of Eclair on 32A (MT3G LE Fender)?

I've tried KiNgxKxlick-AOSP21-v161_signed.zip with the 32A patch and all. It does boot but no touch screen functionality.
What's the chances of being able to get eclair working on the device as defined in my signature?

The chances of 2.1 on Fender are excellent given that T-Mobile announced it would be pushing 2.1 to the Fender and MT3G 1.2 models this spring. As far as a customized ROM, I seriously doubt there will be anything until the phones receive the official update.
Did you actually get the ROM runnning?

Yea it actually ran, just said "Press the Android to Start"... well couldn't press it The 32A patch was from the G1 forum on here as opposed to the slightly newer one for magic on this sub-forum.
Also the Radio looked like it was connecting to. For all I know touchscreen, bt, and headphone jack could have been unsupported, but surprising to see it actually booted.
Twiddles thumbs waiting.

you can wait all you want. there is a whole new touch screen with new drivers tied to the kernel. we have yet to figure out how to get them into any other rom.
We are trying. Belive me, once we get somethign working, Wes, Criffmon and myself will let all of you know.
For now, find criffmons posts in the android themes section and use one of our themed fender roms. that is all you will gett o work. I have tested everything for a month now, even flashing the fender kernel over roms does nothing because files have been changed.
Please be patient
I think we're stuck with themes and whatnot as opposed to custom ROMs until HTC releases the kernel source. Bug @htc on Twitter for the source!

I personally wouldn't mind eclair ala fender as nothing more than the stock rom they come out with + superuser/busybox. Kinda what I'm doing now but with 1.6

[Radio] Baseband 2.41.04.02.02 | For roms based on Eris dump

Geek for Me is proud to release:
Updated Radio.img for Android 2.1 (radio version 2.41.04.02.02) for Eris Dump Roms
Thanks to toast for the moral support and egging me on to flash this without knowing if it would kill my phone.
This has only been tested and confirmed as working on Android 2.1 v2 by toast + flipz +community rom.
Flashing an updated radio will typically give you better battery life and better signal
This won't fix any current problems with the 2.x roms, but it will make your phone more efficient
Don't hold me responsible if you brick your phone
Don't flash this unless you have a CDMA Hero
I wouldn't flash this unless you are on one of the Eris builds. If you are using Fresh 2.0b then you should get the radio that's newer than this.
In case you are wondering, our stock one is 1.04.01.09.21
Check this post for how to flash it: How To: Flash a Radio Update Sprint HTC Hero
DOWNLOAD: http://geekfor.me/downloads/radio-241040202
Seriously flipz, you are a rock star. Awesome work and thanks for all the amazing effort. Getting ready to try out the radio now!

I'm on your 2.0b rom but somehow I'm still on the stock baseband. I flashed over the Gumbo 2.1 rom without flashing. Would it help to flash this update?
Nevermind, just saw your post.
Thanks Flipz. I thought I was running 2.0b but when I went and checked the radio, it said i was still running stock.
EDIT: Im gonna flash anyway. Will report.

BTW why is there one version for fresh 2.0b and one for eris? What goes wrong if you mix them up?
can this be flashed on a hero cmda running cm6 (froyo 2.2)?
yes it can...

[PORT]gm-wg-superd-1102-ebi1+ramhack[merlos v1.4 sources]

Merlos is making 32a ports for magics and I decided to try and make a ramhack version from his github, well it's working great and i have my ram back on superd 1102.
If you would like to try it out, let me know how it works for you.
Only for EBI1 (32a) rogers dreams/32a old radio magics
Not that it'll brick your phone but I'm not responsible if YOU do something wrong.
Flash port after flashing superd 1102 as in his thread here
Get v1.3 here
Get v1.4 here
Many thanks to G Mellini, Wes Garner, Ben Buchacher and any others I forgot.
Anyone rooted on rogers dream anymore?
Yes I have a rooted dream.
beav_35 made this patch already by the way with same functionality. Been using it for more than a week already.
just a question
why dont you guys sign the imei waiver and go back to the regular radio?
im using the magic 32a but i also have the dream with the old radio and is much better than porting to use natve
using this radio will not stop them from cutting your data... its just the stock one... ebi1 has been around before 911 issue just no1 used it for good reason

yea so most people were using the 2.x radio due to thats what all the rooting guides told us to flash lol
just wondering why you would want to use the 3.x radio on the dream when you can flash the g1 radio and it is compatible with all 32b roms ?
edit link to the url I rooted with incl radio and spl for 2.x
all u really need is the radio.img then you already have the spl and umm use ravs latest recovery
i have the rogers dream and it started as ebi1 on 3.x but you can use 2.x
just wondering why you would want to force yourself to use 32a roms for a 32b phone
I.m not that limited, I can use any old radio magic roms also, I was on the other radio at first but the 3 radio works way better on data for me.
v1.4 ebi1 rhack
v1.4 is working great.

[KERNEL][MT3G 1.2/LE Fender] CyanogenMod 4.2.15.1 kernel patch *PROPER*

Here's the kernel for CyanogenMod 4.2.15.1.
THIS UPDATE.ZIP WILL ONLY WORK WITH STOCK CYANOGENMOD 4.2.15.1
Please install STOCK CyanogenMod 4.2.15.1, then install this update using the recovery image.
This kernel is exactly the same as Cyanogen's, except it has support for the myTouch 3G 1.2 / LE Fender, and a fix for some memory corruption that caused system crashes on that phone.
UPDATED 2010-05-01
Remapped some of the I/O memory to an address outside of vmalloc (stability)
Updated the binder patch
UPDATED PATCH ONLY 2010-05-02
Accuracy correction for the binder patch commit message, no code affected.
UPDATED 2010-05-03
Fixed zone alignment (stability)
This updates fixes the last crashing bug that I have reports for.
update.zip (also attached): http://zenthought.org/tmp/kernel-cm-4.2.15.1-mt3g_3.5mm-118.zip
kernel patch (for developers only, against cyanogen's 2.6.29-donut): http://zenthought.org/tmp/android-msm-2.6.29-donut-from-zinx-20100503.zip
My paypal is chriszenthought.org.
Great job!
Downloading now...flashing soon!
Not a Port
For some confused, this is not a port, this is not one of those roms with drivers cooked and hacked out of the stock boot image. This is an actual kernel update adding actual support for the MT3G 3.5mm hardware, as such CM's full kernel features should work just like they would on a G1/Dream or Magic 32B.

Updated with some stability fixes, see first post for latest version.
1. Root myTouch 3G 1.2 (goldcard, etc.)
2. Just follow regular myTouch 3G instructions at
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_G1/Dream/Magic32A_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod
3. Right after flashing Cyanogen Mod 4.2.15.1, flash this kernel update without restarting in between.
Is that all correct?

Mostly, except do make sure you flash DRC83_defanged_base.zip before CM 4.2.15.1. You'll have messed up Google apps otherwise, which may lead to stuff not working / "reboots" (system_server crashes) / etc.
Fixed the remaining known crash bugs in #118 (2010-05-03).

mic issue
Hey guys,
I'm pretty new to this but I've invested about 12 hours of reading before even touching this phone, the mytouch 3g 1.2. I used Unlockr's guide to root
theunlockr.com/2010/03/11/how-to-root-the-mytouch-1-2-and-fender-mytouch
and instead of flashing the custom fender rom, went straight to:
DRC83_base_defanged.zip
update-cm-4.2.15.1-signed.zip
kernel-cm-4.2.15.1-mt3g_3.5mm-118.zip
through the amon ra recovery after wiping data and dalvik. After, everything was working great, no issues at all. Then I flashed
CM-4215_CHM_BinaryRelease+AdvLaunch.zip
and it flashed over great but now I seem to have a mic issue as the person on the other line is having a real hard time hearing me. I re-flashed all roms after another wipe minus binary's theme and the problem persists. I also followed this troubleshoot:
androidforums.com/all-things-root-mytouch/59744-mic-not-working-properly-after-rooting.html
which didn't help. Any idea's?

Sadly, I don't know enough about the MT3G 1.2/LE Fender to know if this is in the kernel or userspace. I do know my kernel patch for 2.6.29-donut vs. 2.6.33-ds is identical. This is a little hard for me to track down without a device

HTC 2.2 Stock Froyo (Rooted) 3.26.651.3 - Not the Final Build

Here ya go folks.
This is apparently not the final build that will be going out next week (according to HTC's twitter)
OTA 2.2 Froyo Stock (Rooted) Full Rom - HTC Evo
Mirror 1 (4shared)
Mirror 2 (Sendspace)
Mirror 3
Mirror 4
Rooted and includes busybox.
You'll also need these radio updates:
UPDATE: If you grabbed radio 2.15.00.07.21 there is a newer version
Radio update: 2.15.00.07.28
Wimax Update 26023 (Courtesy of Ava)
Flash these radios one at a time in recovery, you will have to reboot once for each one.
IF YOUR 4G DOES NOT WORK AFTER FLASHING, RE-FLASH THE WIMAX UPDATE (Thanks to efuse for testing)
4g has been confirmed as working with this rom, if for some reason you're having trouble getting connected (ie; an authentication loop), try reflashing the wimax update.
FAQ:
Q: Is the fps capped?
A: Yes the fps is capped with the default kernel
Q: Is this the final version of the update? ( 3.26.651.3 )
A: Apparently it's been confirmed by HTC on their twitter that this is not the final build that will be going out next week, so if you wanna be an early adopter, knock yourself out ;D
Q: Why can't I see all my apps in the market?
A: Because the fingerprint for this build has probably not been given to Google for the market, your mileage may vary
Damn I'm loving this Evo more and more...thanks chief for your work!
Will try it out....Thx for your effort
w00t thanks
