[APP][10th.Dec.2010] New Android Market

Managed to find a copy of the new android market. Screenshot and download link below.
ENJOY!
There are 2 versions. One for NON Cyanogenmod ROMS and one for Cyanogenmod ROMS. The Cyanogenmod .apk MIGHT not work for everyone.
AND backup your old market .apk before updating. Just to be safe
No need to rename before installing. I didn't have to.
Those having force close issues can try the tip below:

got it,ty ty!!!placed in App folder rebooted and it updated the store!!using desire hd mdj

In order to install, rename it to "Vending.apk" (without the quotes obviously) and replace the Vending.apk in system/app/ using adb or Root Explorer or whatever you would like. That's how I did it at least, using Root Explorer.

are there more apps in this market or is this just a theme

Got it working on my device. Found the DL link in one of the other threads on here. It says to change to .apk from zip but it changed it automatically. Looks nice. Gonna start a few dl's to see how well it works. But it looks awesome so far.

i learned of this new MARKET app today and I already have it running on my phone! awesome!... Thanks Conflikt Icey and XDA!!
im running (27.11.2010)MCCM SE V3.4(FroyoStone Sense) and all i did was download the apk... rename it to vending.apk and long-press on it. then i chose "OPEN" from the menu and installed it that way. thats it... worked on first try.

[Q] Market (3.4.4 latest) display issues?

Have searched and don't believe there is an existing post on this.
The latest market 3.4.4 looks more like a phone market (doesn't use full width of screen in landscape - see black margins) - is this the case for everyone?
This appears the same on both Team EOS ICS and CM9 - I realise this is a trivial/cosmetic issue, but surely Google doesn't intend for it to look like this? Is 3.4.4 even supposed to be on Tablets - why would CM9 distribute 3.1.5 as latest only to have the market auto update on first open?

Market 3.1.5
Market 3.1.5 (the one distributed in Gapps 5.3 for CM9) looks great in comparison, but I cannot prevent it from auto-updating. Among other things, have tried freezing and removing MarketUpdater.apk from system/app, and;

pm disable works unprivileged, but fails with Segmentation Fault for su. No matter what I do, the darn market keeps on updating.

That's they way mine looks. Bugs the heck out of me too!

Hey thanks - Is it version 3.4.4 on your stock ICS?
Does it look like the 3.1.5 picture in OP?

I do have the the same problem with my xoom. My market looks exactly like the screenshot from the first post. I use the latest Team eos ics wingray build.
Any solutions to make it look like it should on a tablet?

I cant understand why only a few people so have this problem.
Reflash of the rom was neither a solution.

I have noticed this too, mine looks like the first image.

I'm gonna put it down to bad ICS programming.

Market 3.4.4 on stock 3.2 also looks bad.

uninstall market updates
clear data/cache
freeze the vender updater apk with titanium backup.
works for me im still using 3.1.5 market on rooted stock ICS

Doesnt work for me at all

The issue remains on market version 3.4.7.
Any solutions until now?

Ok, here's the thing.
This evening i did a factory reset on my phone and i was surprised that the google search bar widget is not upgrading from the old one froyo style
In last months, every factory reset i did, after a few minutes the widget upgraded itself in the new black and white style, if u guys remember.

It seems that yesterday Google has upgraded the Google Search with new functions, unfortunely is "REQUIRES ANDROID:

SOmeone has the apk backed up somewhere please!??!?

it is available for gingerbread too go in play store and update google vocie search. IN my samsung Galaxy S it is already there in Gb.And this update is given year ago dude.

Well, actually, I'm in the same situation. Installed this on my Defy+:

Until 2 days ago, it was in the second image link i posted, atleast for Gingebread. I'm sure of it, since a friend of mind just rest his phone a week ago and updated google search with no problem. So, we really need the old apk

K3 Non note question. (K30w)

By mistake I ordered a K3, not the note version.
From what I came to know is that this device is intended for the Asian market only.
The phone has really bad software, and after a bit of searching on this forum and Google I have yet to find an answer to the following questions:
Is it possible to install another rom on this phone?
Are there any out there?
Is it the same phone as the A6000 (or does it accept the same roms)?
I have rooted/installed firware on phones before.
I am sorry if I overlooked any relevant information.

On your current (stock) rom:
- Download all the software needed: https://ufile.io/a8497
- Enable USB Debugging after connecting it to your pc.
- Download TWRP for A6000 (unzip on your pc)
- Download K30-W_MIUI6_5.1.23_liuxingghost-0501251930-RUS-UK-MIUI.SU_v2.zip and place it on your phone's SD-card!
- Open "Boot-TWRP_A6000.bat"
- Phone will reboot into recovery
- Wipe > Advanced wipe
- Select first 4 options and wipe
- Go back to the main menu of TWRP and "install zip"
- Select the rom, and install.
After the rom is installed, the boot will take LONG to the point you will think the flashing has failed. Don't worry, it will boot, this is only the first time.
If it asks to update, don't it will fail.
OPTIONAL: After rom booted, put Google_installer.apk on your SD and run it from the file explorer, install ALL parts of the software to get play store working.
OPTIONAL: Install galleryGoogle.apk to get the standard android gallery, the one provided sucks imo.
The rom is only in chinese/enlish, but the standard software is so crappy and bloated, that this is a hell of a lot better.
After a bit of configuring I managed to get it all to proper English, and got play store working. The phone runs smoothly, and everything is working fine (even 4G).
ROM VERSION: 4.4.4 KUT84P
MIUI version 5.1.23 | Beta
I am not responsible for bricking your phone!
If anyone could provide me with a better rom I would be very happy, although this one is working fine for the moment.

You may want to read through this thread, the ROM linked above is in post #25(message#25) in the thread linked below. There are also many different ROMs there that you might can use with a little bit of work to set it up.
