Emulators for WM6 smartphone (non-touchscreen) - General Questions and Answers

The Wiki is down, or I'd look there...
I have a WM6.5 smartphone (non-touchscreen).
I no nothing of emulators, just that they exist for old game systems (like NES and SNES) and that current smartphones are plenty strong to run them.
What I want: some kind of SNES emulator and a way to play my old Mario games on my Samsung Jack (WM6.5 standard). I'd love, love, LOVE to get Super Mario 3 going. I played that for many hours as a kid, and I'd love to get it back.
What do I need to know to get an emulator for my phone?
Where can one find the games to load on my memory card?

Anyone?
Anything?

For SNES emulation I recommend PocketSNES. Good performance + possibility to rotate screen. Get it from http://n0p.tonych.info/?PocketSNES
For NES - use PocketNester if you don't want rotation, use PocketNesterPlus if you want it (warning - without rotation it crashes ). Google the first, get the second from Modaco (version by Masterall)
For Sega MegaDrive - get PicoDrive. Many versions on the net, there might be one for a smartphone.
I don't know if these emulators work on smartphone edition as I only have a touchscreen device. But I think you should try, if they work, they will provide you with hours of gameplay.

MorphGear is your best option. Works very nicely.

It is paid though. What I posted is free. But if you want to spend money I think SmartGear is better (more systems and better performance for less cash).

Moved as not software release.

Can anyone please get a SNES or GBA emulator working on the Tilt?

Coders made them for prev generation HTC phones, why not the Tilt?
Probably better posted in the general Kaiser forum...vs the Upgrading forum; however....
I believe that Morphgear works....I have only tried Gameboy (regular) and NES games, but they both work. It does have support for both SNES and GBA.
But as you mentioned, it was created quite some time ago and thus is not optimal for the Kaiser. As I recall, SNES should be "ok" in terms of speed. GBA will be slow.
Using the HTC Performance plugin, the gba emulation is a little bit better. But I still wouldn't play any platform or fast paced games on it. I stick to games like advance wars, or fire emblem, where you can use frameskip without too much consequence. Still better than any ppc games out, IMO.
there are a couple of emu's for snes ive used one called zsnes that seemed to work ok the only problem is the hardware keys being to close.
There was a thread in the general Kaiser forums about NES emulators. Your best bet would to be to ask there, as it already contains some information pertainent to this subject.

Morphgear is the best EMU ever
It got all the platforms
NES , GBColor , works great 100%
SNES, SEGA GENESIS works nice without sound, some bugs with soud
GBA is a little slow

yea, cause you need to launch the exe with your computer and have your phone connected to activesync or mobile device center... its not a cab installer
Morphgear works
pocket gba works faster than morph gear at least it feels faster

nes or snes emulator

does anyone know of a nes or snes emulator that works on the fuze. I have tried pocketnesterplus but it failed to load a game, this worked on my 8525. I dont know if it is the difference between qvga and vga screens. any ideas would be helpful.
For SNES, look up Nop's SNES. It's the only one that works well, but still it's only half speed at best.
For NES - I use Smartgear, but you have to pay $10 to play unlimited. It also happens to be the best Turbografx emulator - which is why I pay for it.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/inde...s - for both games and productivity platforms
good read
Does smartgear lwt you use the keyboard as the controls? i am having trouble setting up the controls.

emulators which work with TG-01

hi all,
i have spent hours scouring the forums ranging from the classy htc diamond ( which i loved btw) to the experia x1 (which is also cool) trying to find a good emulator for nes/snes games which support touchscreen, wvga, and the tg01's lack of hard buttons.
if anyone has any ideas or links or anything so we can all get a great emu working for the 1ghz hand sized tv screen then brilliant.
****************************************
dont think im being a console-ist by only asking for nes/snes but the idea of playing ps1 games on this beast with no hard buttons doesnt exactly thrill me to bits, but if you want to share your findings with everyone then feel free

Play Station Emulator good? ^_^
There you go:
http://www.fpsece.net/
Just Google:
PSX /PS1 ISOs to get the games =)
Link for videos:
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=fpsece+1.0+tg01&search_type=&aq=f
morphgear is best snes emu but like you say with no buttons or multitouch emus are only really good for rpgs which is fine for me, fpsece is best emu out.
i would have thought we would have fullspeed/sound snes considering you can for psx but you cant.
neway if you get morphgear for hd2 and dreeds mulitouchpad for the best experience for snes, and you have to use the virtual mouse thing (slide finger up over strip bit on tg01) to be able to click on the settings
I guess what we really need is a touchscreen hook that will capture slide events and fire the appropriate cursor keys whilst in specific apps. Is there anything like that already?
wel i had a think about it and we need to make a touch screen keyboard with the typical up, down, left, rihtt and a,b,c buttons and map them to keys such as the wasd configuration. we could invoke the keyboad to pop up with a reg key or something to piggyback on the emu to rocess.
im not a programmer so i have no idea how to make this happen but will help with graphics if anone wants to try.

unless i am misunderstanding what you mean then this is already programed into fpsece and morphgear (using dreeds pad).
eg press circle button and slide finger up = up and circle.
i cant see and better improvements to fake multitouch happening, sorry if ive misunderstood u tho
if this pic come sup then brilliant, this is what i would like personally.
a proper nes pad layout linked to the virtual keypad so i can play pokemon games and such ( please dont mug off pokemon games, for a turn based rpg its pretty good)
there must be a way to link this to an emu
i am willing to help anyone with anything they need to make this work
also....
on a side note, any way to speed up the screen rotation, from what i understand, the os asks the g-sensor what state its in then adjusts accordingly. where as on other phones the g-sensor tells the os what its doing. can we speed up the refresh on this or is it a no go for now?
Just wondering if anyone has got mario rpg on the snes working via morphgear on there phone. For me i can either crash after the opening screens, where u press start to start game, or after a little bit into the game. When it does work it takes about 5 sec's to load each battle, frustrating.
Can i play games FPSCE with this device?

@above not sure but you can just use a dualshock 3

[SKIN] Special Pad for SNES Multipad Morphgear

Hello! I've changed this skin:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=489147
for my wife She is playing Chrono Trigger and she couldn't catch THE RAT
Coursors are made as n+b w+b e+b +s+b so you can run all the time! There is NO COMBINATED BUTTONS (for example N+W). For menu there are other small buttons on right side. Everything works perfect for me & my wife
I'm sorry, but it seems that everything regarding morphgear, is pretty dead right now
Do you know any better solution for playing SNES roms on HTC HD2?

Not really, but a quick google search seems to reveal quite a bit of opportunities

in your opinion what is wrong with morphgear? I've search google to find the best option for my brand new Leo and Morphgear seens to be quite good Is there any better program that was directly write for HD2 or customized for HD2? You seems to be smart and advanced in Leo applications? I've also tried to run Chrono Trigger on FPSECE 0.10 (3 various ROMS) but it doesn't start ;/

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with MorphGear I like it and use it quite a bit (Primarily for mario, I gave up on chrono trigger when I lost around 4-6 hours of playtime, because I forgot to back it up...) I dont know what else there is on the market, regarding SNES emulators, and the link I provided was the deepest I've gone to find one Also as far as i know, MorphGear is the only SNES emulator (and gba, gbc, genesis and so on) that have been customized especially to the HD2.
The reason why you can't play Chrono Trigger on FPSECE, is because Chrono Trigger is a game for SNES, while FPSECE is a Playstation 1 emulator, which means that it only supports games that was created for Playstation 1 (GT2, Crash Bandicoot 3, etc.)
last but not least, Thank you

well you will need to find a ROM that has the right region formating (pal etc), at least i think so I actually dont know which you have to use, but I could imagine, that it depends on which bios you have downloaded for FPSECE

This emu is pretty young on android, but it is good on windows, and not common fact, it s his own creator porting for android. On play we can configure controls, and there is NO FRAMESKIP ( if you ask, try to change to frameskip 0 for every .emu from broglia on the play and you will understand...soud become laggy every some secs).
This emu is still young so some roms won t load for now, as super mario 2 lost levels (i think it may be that fds is unsupported at the moment), but be patient, the dev is no other than jabo who worked on project64 long time ago.
Yeah, I like Jnes on XPlay, works pretty well except only game that I cant get to load is original Super Mario Bros 1 (or whatever it was called )
Ok, so i ve contacted the dev, really a nice guy. So fds is not supported by now, and maybe will but not in the near future. But great new, he also told me he wanted to makr a new n64 emu for android!!!! not just a port!!! That would be really great knowing that he s the marvellous plugin author of project64, which was my fav emu on pc!!!

New feature on jnes, that other nes emus don t have: cover artwork, it is a beta feature, but 70 percent of my games have a cover in the listing by now, and it is really cool!

I purchased it as well, I noticed this thread, it's a wonderful emulator, just like it is on the PC, the cover art continues to get better and the UI overall is the best I've seen on my tablet. Hope other people check it out.
