Semi-transparent status bar?

What's up all. Looking for someone to help out on this.
I've been trying to find a way to make the status bar semi-transparent. (not notification bar) Is there a way to flash a zip file and have the status bar transparent or half way so the wallpaper is showing. This will make the screen look bigger and the over look on sense themes will be sweet.
I'm using the mannup revolution theme that comes with redemption rom.
Any ideas? Thanks!

It would be awesome if someone could make a standalone zip (the one in the post includes the round battery indicator) with just the transparency
Lots of transparency mods don't include transparency on the item backgrounds, and that one does. Pretty awesome

Thanks for the help guys!!! This will get me started. I tried flashing the the transparent bar over Redemption rom with the incredible revolution theme and the bar was only transparent when the phone was in lock. After I unlock the phone it went back to the black status bar. Might have been because I removed rosie to only use launchepro. I'll mess around with this and post if I get anywhere.
I'm surprised there are not more themes with an option for the semi-transparent status bar. Even the semi status bar when phone is locked looked awsome.
If any one has any other ideas, please post them. Thanks!!!

It only fully works when using the sense launcher.
I would use it, but it removes any rosie mods (such as the manup sexy rosie skin) when applied so i haven't been able to use it lately.

Yeah same here. I wish it was as simple as flashing a zip to change the script in a current theme framework.

Privet,its in services.jar file its simple to mod but i dint know what line it is that makes it transparent.The mod you have becomes clear with lwp's also.

I've been messing with this for a while, I've got mine transparent, but it turns out launcher pro doesn't support the transparencies. As soon as I install launcher pro it goes solid black.

really? i didnt think launcher pro had any affect on the notifications bar

Yeah I had the same issue. I'm using the redmptive rom now with the matted blues theme. I edited the theme to have the transparent bar and decided not to use launcher pro anymore.

Do it through ninja morph... worked for me. Only issue is that all of the notifications for battery and signal have black backgrounds that you'll have to fix as well.

transparent? not that i know. but you can use third party homescreen launchers to make it "invisible"

Transparant would be cooler though!

Not yet, but... I've pulled the framwork-res.apk and modified the backgroud to the task bar and have attached the results.
I haven't modified anything else in the bar, hence the icons for signal etc are still blue/black... but I will do.
The only problem with this is what colour do you have the text on the bar, as the background in apps also comes through
(I was thinking that instead of a fully see through bar, that I'd create an opaque one when I get home, as I only have paint on this PC)
EDIT: I was also looking to modify the lock screen to be slightly opaque, to match the bar at the top
Will post updates here once I've done them

can u remove the background of those icon ? that dark blue ?
and also instead of fully transparent , we can go like windows 7 style ie Glass effect .. it would be much cooler..
nice modding there... everything is good for me with launcerpro , except for the status bar whic is dark blue.. doesnt suite my theme...

I can remove the background to the icons, there is just a lot of them and I am at work, plus I have photoshop on my mac at home, and only MSpaint here.
I'll see what I can do for the glass effect, and was thinking of doing a few different see through colour variants (i.e. black, white, red etc)
As before, I think the main issue is going to be the text, but if there is a tint of colour, it should be easy enough to read (we'll see)
Hopefully I'll be able to put up a very beta version today or tomorrow, including the lock screen mods so you can see how it will look.
I'll put a new thread up when I have this beta bit done

To be honest, I'm not sure. I haven't used the Metamorph app, so will give it a go.

Update Time!
Quick update, its a little trickier than I originally anticipated, but more or the status bar icons have been updated (I still have a lot to do yet)
So, I thought I'd show what I have done so far...
As you can see, some of the test is difficult to see in the bar, but this should be fixed once I've get a decent glass like effect on the bar. If you're using a dark background, this is fine, but lighter backgrounds are not so good.
Also, the text and debug mode icons are not done, and some of the battery and internet down/upload icons are also not done (100 and 80% for battery are complete, and the icons where 3g is enabled but not uploading or downloading are not done.)
Still, I think there is decent (ish) progress, and hope to get something you can use after the weekend (maybe before it's out, but I don't want to follow SE's example of giving crap release dates )
PS. Sorry for the quality of the attachment, I use screencast through my PC which doesn't scale down well but is quicker than using a screenshot app on Android

I'm in process of writing an installer, but its late, so I'm not finishing it now.
What I have now will be the first version, I will be changing the lock screen and other home screen bluenesses (like where I have Vodafone and ongoing, I will make them match the colour of the status bar)
I will also be adding a few more colours, preferably from the same installer, but we'll see how that goes.
Finally, I want to change the white background on the status dropdown to be the same as the status bar, eg, in this case, black and transparent.

Indeed, this is lookin great. I do really really like the looks of the status bar.
An idea, I know your still in very early stage atm but when you release it with your installer why not make it configurable? What I mean is so when your installing it asks you what bits you want in your choice of colours. So it would be customisable and everyone could have a version of some spec of colour that would suit any theme.
This would make a great paid app if you ask me...

Great work/concept so far!
I had thought about trying a translucent status bar background before. Can't wait to see it.
I'm trying to learn about theming a little too when I have time...

ccan u share the files... we could also work on it .. while u can compile the installer

[Morph] Transparent Status Bar for CM6.1.1

So for quite a while i've been using morph designed by formel-lms in the nexus one, its worked with the evo cm6 pretty well besides a few kinks. So i spent a little time playing with it this afternoon getting it setup the way i wanted, i love the look of stock CM6 just wanted the clear bar.
Much thanks to stericson for metamorph and formel for the initial morph i started using and working off of. Also to myn for the tinted status bar idea.
Transparent status bar with a bit of tint to make things easier to red. Using all the stock status bar icons. Using this on CM6.1.1 haven't tried anything else. Pic and zip attached.
Post up any issues and i'll try to fix them, if i can't maybe a theme pro could lend a hand.

this is only for ADW isn't it? Do you think you can try using launcher pro with it and letting us know? Usually LP creates a Black status bar instead of the applied clear one.

I think its a launcher pro issue, because you can get the same black bar issue with adw if you disable the wallpaper hack.
I'll load launcher pro on my phone and see what's up. I might search around and see if I can somebody else's solution.

What about it u dont like? Is it the red? To loud for u? If so check out Riptide9's color n clear its pretty similar but with less color and a mellow blue.

i was wondering if this worked with the stock evo rom with htc sense.... i really dont feel like loosing my data and flashing a rom just yet. i like the stock rom and htc sense actually

Naa I stick with this, Riptide9 is not much of my taste ... specially the blue color and the fruitloop colors in it... by the way works great on Myns rls5...
What I mean about red is just I like the clear bar and sense but haven't found any mod compatibles with the new updates and most themes have to many colors that I am not really in to it... but this one is pretty clean .. thanks for the work

I have started working on a theme that is pretty much stock But with all the same stuff that is transparent in this theme. I just have not had enough time to finish it. Let me know if u are interested.

Now by clear do u mean no bar at all but leave the sprint, time and date in place? If so i could do that by making it a addon. It would be pretty easy.

yes just leave the sprint, time and date in place... (if possible take off the sprint).. i have try some of the clear lockscreen but they change the sense rosie, .. i tried Mik4.3 clear lockscreen and it did change the rosie to its regular themed rom, i also tried the Mik4.3 mix animations and look really cool thoe, but unfortunually it changed the clear bar notification to to black .. but the rest of was red as it comes on ur theme.. so i flash back the your Cleared then back,... by the way his themed marked app looks very cool and it goes a lot with your theme as it has it's background clear,,,..
I dont have any idea or knowledge of how to theme or make a theme.. but just a sugestion... if you can integrate Mik's mix animations + the themed market on to your CleaRED theme, that would be awesome, as your theme is pretty clean.

hey Flight01,,, just tested the them on Calkulin's 1.7.7, and it works fine... except for the Bluetooth widget is not themed in red as the rest... it also not themed on the others rom i have tried.. Myn's, and Mik's... i also noticed that when ever i am in a roaming area the bar signals pop up and there is a black square behind the bars just mentioning ...

Troy's Blue Slate Theme for SkyRaider 4.0
This is a theme that is based off of CLeDInc's Slate Matte Green Theme that I changed around from files I got from ACD168, and eugene.an's slate theme for the desire and a lot of files from jabbawalkee's matted blues theme for the Evo. There might be one more person I'll check and see and edit if there is If anybody has any problems with me using there stuff please let me know or if I did something wrong and I'll take it down and work it out.

*The Music app in this theme is from the nothing special rom that I themed, it can not be controlled under notifications

Dude the slate theme was my favorite from the HTC hub. Only suggestion I have is change the pulldown Droid to blue instead of green to match the rest of the theme. Looking good thanks for your hard work
