thanks for the help..
'appsaver' is a great app. but, when i install the apps from SD Card, apps still gets installed on the device memory.
you said..'phone has to be rooted'...does that mean Froyo should be intalled on the main memory itself ???

It means your phone must be rooted, just like he said.. You can't do it without the phone being rooted. How else can it be put?
Look at my post above for how to do it without rooting the phone.

internal memory problem !!! (new to chacha ?)

hi everybody
i am really new to htc chacha >>> in fact i like it since its the only android with keyboard available :good:
but i have theses problem and questions
questions :
what is the difference between unlock and rooting
from the forum i think there is no custom rom which is fully functional like the stock one is that right ??
problems :
internal memory is killing me since its only 150 mb how do i install all apps direct the sd card ?? without rooting step by step plz
battery life is suck !! i am using juice defender but its not that much in saving battery life
so would you please help me
thanks again guys
difference of unlocking and rooting is basicly, you cant root your phone without unlocking. You have to unlock it first. Our phone comes with security. Unlocking means deactivate its security for rooting.
You can find info about unlocking here : htcdev.com
And you can also find info about rooting in our forum.
Good Luck!
You need to install a ROM that has removed bloat-wire then it will free some internal memory or install link2sd (for rooted).
Also you need to clear contact storage from settings>applications>manage applications>all
And select show conctacts with phone number only (in app people or go contacts),
Cause to show google plus conctacs will use many internal memory.

i have tried to do that. But with no success, i still got those fb contacts in my people thingy...although i strictly said after the factory reset that i dont want to sync contact list with fb...but despite that, the phone did it anyway ... And what is more funnier , in people app, the google acc and the fb acc are and were both unchecked even before you wrote that here. even though i sayd i dont wanna sync. I mean wtf with that HTC?

[Q] I have a problem with data being deleted on reboot?

Hi,
I rooted my phone because I wanted to use an application called FolderMount, so I could store big chunks of data from apps onto my SD card.(it seems as though the SD card is useless on Android)I am using an HTC Desire 601, with Android version 4.2.2. Now my problem is that, I'm having an error with FolderMount because of something to do with external SD card r/w permissions.(no this is not specific to the app, it's a software wide problem, that's why I'm posting here.) So I found a "fix" that involved editing platform.xml and adding a line. However, everytime I try to edit it, either the phone just reboots, or no changes are made. Basically, the system folder is denying me r/w access. In root explorer there is a feature to mount it temporarily as r/w, but then if I reboot my changes are lost. This is a problem which I think is also not allowing me to install Busybox. Please help me with this. Thank you.

Open SuperSU and check if access is granted for "FolderMount"
Do you use free FolderMount? Thats limited to 3links at all.

Yes, of course access is granted. I have only tried to create one link so far...so it can't be anything to do with the number of links permitted in FolderMount. I mean, I haven't been able to create a single working link. Precisely, the error I'm getting in FolderMount has something to do with sd card r/w permissions(I've linked a screenshot;maybe you've had this problem before and you solved it?)
The only possible fix I can find is the edit to platform.xml. I've contacted the developer; notice how it says "Attempt to patch my ROM"? Well the developer told me that when the patch is applied and when I reboot, the patch is erased because of the reboot(he said that seems to be the case) so I need to find a way to ensure that it isn't erased. I'm having the same problem here; when I make an edit, it's erased either immediately or after reboot. So that's why I need to find a way to fix this. Thanks, if you have a possible fix.
I've tried using DirectoryBind, but it doesn't work and I hear it's been broken since 4.2. I don't know how to revert back to a previous Android version for my device, so I'm stuck.

Some files e.g. related to kernel will be generated on every boot. In that case you can't change em permanently. BUT you can try another solution so far Create a ext2/ext4 partition on your external sd and use Link2SD or APP2SD pro
In the superSU setting, try enabling option allow apps requesting root permission at start up(on boot).

This recovery has a built-i feature to parttition sd-card. Pls keep in mind that all data on sd will be deleted during the process. i look out for a guide.
Your recovery / Rom (Kernel) has to support this feature. I can't find this information. So pls be patient. I'll pm you as soon as i found a safe solution.

[ROM][MULTILINGUAL][XPOSED] Lenovo A850 S121 ROW Open Source Edition

I have removed bloatware from the original rom. Also wherever possible replaced Lenovo specific applications
with open source ones. LED notifications work thanks to the integrated ButtonLED application.
You can select the SD card as the default storage
Instructions for installation:
First flash Linerty´s rom S116 or S121 (to double the amount of DATA space, ie. for better partitioning)
Then install this ROM via recovery (md5sum: 05ed1d5272ad2c80cf207587d4fc9fff recovery.img)
Alternative Download link
After first boot allow root permissions to ButtonLED and configure it for LED notifications (Except in the Lenovo A850 the led is green/led, the first option in autolocate)
More info on 1st post (Spanish) here
Thank you but shouldn't you post some more info? You only say how to install...
Please add:
- What is the rom features? (deferences with the original)
- Photos?
- Bugs?
- Referers? (who helped to make it)
The more info in Spanish is not a solution.
Me, as a user i already have a rom and i want to see why should i flash your rom before spending some time doing so...
Take a look in other roms topics to get the idea
Thank you in advance ^_^

[Q] Need Help

Hi,
I found the guide here on how to root my Acer Iconia Tab 8. But since I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to computers compared to you guys, I got a bit confused on the instructions. When I launched the launcher.bat or whatever it was, I typed in what was necessary but then it said that the adb was killing. Is there a fix to that? Also, if someone could explain the instructions to me in a simpler and more detailed way, then that would be great.
Thanks

Download drivers from ur device manufacturer's site...
And install it...
Connect ur device...
Then check it in device manager for your device... What it says...if it has a exclamation sign...then drivers are not properly installed or matched...
If not... Then enjoy...
Ok I was able to root my tablet. Thanks for the help.
And also one more question. Since I have an Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-840FHD, you can't move apps to your SD card. Is there a way to actually move apps over?

Yes it is a paid app...But it can link apps..Which is same as moving over sd card...
U can use mount 2 sd or folder mount.... like similar apps... But I have never tried these... Search and give it a try...
