I'm gonna scream! This is the third time I've tried typing this how to out.... Don't ask...
Anyways, I will tell you what to do to change the colors on the first one. Then after that, I will give the section, each entry and it's color, then wrap it up. I'm not going to write a book like I did before.
Let's go!
At home screen, menu/cyanogenmod settings/user interface. Render effect = no render effect. Status bar section. I didn't want battery percentage, so I unchecked it. Clock color. Move outside of color wheel to white. Tap the dot in the center of the color wheel to confirm that's the color you want. I wanted show dbm. Set that color to white.
Back key once. Date and provider. In plmn carrier string, the two check boxes should be checked. Carrier plmn label color = black. Make sure to tap the dot in the center of the color wheel when you change a color or your new choice won't stick. Settings for spn carrier string. Both check boxes checked. Carrier spn label color is black.
Back key once. Notifications colors. Notifications ticker color = white. Notifications count color is white. No notification title color is white. Clear notifications label color is black. Ongoing notifications title color is white. Latest notifications title color is white.
Scroll down some. Items title color is black. Items text color is black. Items time color is black. Check custom notifications bar check box. Bar color is black.
Now keep hitting back key until you are back to the home screen. Reboot the phone. When phone comes back up, everything "should" be correct color now. Let me know if it worked. It took me some trial and error, and a lot of reboots, before I think all the colors look as they should for the notification bar.
I don't know how to change the slide down notifications drawer to white on black. If I did, that would be like the icing on the cake... Sorry.

I the background the hard way...replaced the "statusbar_background.9.png" in framework-res with my own. and as far as the background of the notifications LIST, I believe youll have to change the "status_bar_background.png" within the framework-res as well... At least thats what I did.

Hello, Does anyone know how to make the menu bar on the today screen a solid color instead of the gradient from top to bottom or a fade from white to a chosen color? I tried playing with base hue and my theme xml but cannot find anything to make it solid. Thanks
Just want a black status bar for CM6
Hello, hopefully this easy an easy question but I just rooted and installed CM6 last night, loving Chrome to Phone and some of the other froyo goodness. Just not feeling the off white status bar/ notifications area. Is there a simple way to change this, not really interested in a full theme with icons and all that if it isnt necessary. Thanks
If you just want a solid black background, go to Settings>CyanogenMod settings>User Interface>Notifications colors and scroll down to "Custom notification bar". From there you can choose any color you want. It may require a reboot to take effect.

The Bar Color setting shows a solid black circle in the middle with a hex value of #ff00000, but the status bar is still black characters on a white bar. Am I doing this wrong?
Black is #000000 White is #ffffff what you posted above is nothing.... but you might have typed a few too many 0 on it... if so then ff0000 is red.

Click to collapse After you get hte color you want you have to press the cirle in the center, if you hit back it wont apply. but it will remember hte selection you made. I had that same problem

[Q] Question about MIUI text color
Which facet of the theme compiler controls the system's font color, particularly in the notifications panel? Every time I apply a different status bar, the font stays the same color. The text stays a dark gray so I can't use black status bar/notification panels. And that blows. Help a brother out?
Any way to change lockscreen notification color?
On an unrooted phone running Nougat, does anyone know of a way to change the background color of the notification tile that appears on the lock screen? While running Marshmallow, the below weather notification had a dark gray color that contrasted well from the font. Now after updating, the color is a lighter gray, which makes it difficult for me to read the writing. Changing themes did not affect the color. In the slide-down notifications menu, the tile still has the same dark gray background but not on the lock screen. Thanks in advance.
Status Bar Icon Color
Is there a way to change the color of the status bar icons yet? The stock white is killing me, My eyes are not what they use to be. In past phones I had changed them to a bright green which was easy to read. I would also be happy If I could make those icons larger somehow. I also have a hard time seeing the notifications on my lock screen, Larger text would be great. One would think Android would give us an option for visually impaired just like they did for the hearing impaired Thanks
You could go to settings -> display -> zoom screen and font There you can change the size of things on your screen, and make fonts bigger.
