[Q] What does baseband "NO DGSXX***" mean? Is it bad?

Alright guys, I've SCOWERED the net and forums for information on this. Just can't seem to narrow down the answer. I think it's due to the generic nature of the search terms.
I've got a GT-9020A Nexus S with Telus. I rooted it like a spazdic chimp and ended up causing myself the need to completely reflash the ROM. Ever since the baseband version has always started with "NO DSGXX***". Device function does not seem effected.
What does it mean? Is it bad? How do I make it go away to satisfy my OCD?
Thanks!

Same thing happened to me...it means that Google does not recognize your device aswell as your carrier.
Just reflash the full rom again and don't forget to wipe

I have seen a 4g icon on my canadian Nexus S

I'm pretty sure it has already been answerd somewhere but it's confusing, sometimes the answer is: yes/maybe/no/depends.
I have a Nexus S (3g/Gsm) rooted phone.
Is it possible in any way to have wimax speed on this phone ? Maybe by changing roms/radio/kernel ??
I have seen a 4g icon once on my device before when I started to change roms but I have made changes and since then I have been looking everywhere for the answer and now. After 7 months of browsing the internet forums I have decided to ask here and get the answer once and for all.
ANd my service provider has ''wimax'' network
Sorry for asking cause I am pretty sure it has been answerd but really confusing !!!
Thanks in advance
Merci
Your phone can not run on a wimax network.
Awesome simple straight forward answer !!
Thanks

most apps not working?

Edit: sorry, i thought i was in the note section. My bad. If you have an input please reply while i get a mod to move this.
My uncle has the note, and he keeps saying that most apps aren't working/compatible.
Is this true? I feel i can't get an honest answer out of him as he's showing his colors as an Apple fanboy now, which is fine, but he keeps ****ting on Android which is starting to annoy me a bit as i know how good is.
iOs is 100% made for him, it's easy, and he doesn't need to make any effort to do anything (he thinks).
Sorry for ranting, i don't mind ios to be honest, but i like to have complete control of my phone, he doesn't.
So, I'm on the sgs2, and so far, all the things I've downloaded have worked and have worked well. Is this not the case for the note?
have you noticed a lot of incompatibility?
He is stock gb by the way. No interest in rooting or anything. Seems happy enough to wait for his carrier to bring him ics.
Also, if you did have issues with apps etc.. Was it resolved when you upgraded to ics?

[Q] Is It Possible to Root I535VRUDNE1 (or DIE, Verizon, DIE!)?

I've read through a lot of threads....some are vague, some don't post specific ROMs they are on, etc., and I'm unsure as to the answer to this.
Nexus 5 owner here, former TMO SGS3 owner (given away), now I've come into possession of a Verizon SCH-i535 SGS3 that I'm running on T-Mobile. Phone is going to my elderly father, and I want to root it so I can uninstall all the Verizon crap and other things that are just going to confuse my dad.
Tried Odin and CFAutoRoot, connects, appears to start, but fails every time. Haven't tried TowelRoot, some say it works, some say it doesn't, and I'm really confused. Lots of threads say this ROM can't be rooted, but not all.
So, short and sweet, can anybody tell me with certainty whether this ROM can be rooted? If so, by which method? Am I stuck with the stock ROM? Any way to hide apps on the app screen?
I hate Verizon. HATE them.
Love xda. LOVE them.

From what I've read towelroot should work, although if it doesn't then I don't think anything else will. Try it out and report back

Is SAMSUNG following Apple steps, couldn't use the phone while calling!

Hi guys, one of the things that annoyed me really in my Galaxy. When I get a call and the phone is closed.. I can't open the phone before I answer the call!! Honestly it's just a weird thing and annoying!! I have the right to use the device whatever I want! Who are you Samsung to interrupt in my calls and ask me to answer!?
