I am trying to share a video i just took in 720P to youtube stright from the phone, I have it on wi-fi and it keeps coming up saying waiting to retry and if u click on it and say retry it still does the samething. Its a 5 min video abd about 450mb. I was thinking maybe cause of the size of the file it wont let me upload is there anyway to change settings for this.
I know alot of ppl will say why dont u just connect it to u computer and do it, but i was at my friends house at that time and i was trying to upload on the spot there.
Just wondering if there is a limit on the size and if there is, is there a way around it.
I was having the same problem and I read somewhere that the problem was on youtube's end. The mobile upload server has a limit on what size file you can upload. I'm not sure what the limit is though. I've been able to upload files that are less than 20 mb but one that was close to 100 didn't work.

You could just transfer to computer and upload to YouTube. Works fine from there. I uploaded some samples:

I'm having the same problem.
My file size is only 29.8 MB (The limit for YouTube was 2Gig back in 2009!).
I'm more worried that the problem is more WiFi related.
I can sustain an upload for about 3 seconds and then I get the error message. I have to keep holding my finger on the video until a pop up appears, and then click retry. It goes for another 3 seconds and then fails. I have to keep doing this. When it finally gets to 100% it restarts at 0%. (I had thought, hopefully, that it was somehow doing upload recovery each time I hit retry, as it was counting upwards to 100%)
I'm wondering if there is a system log anywhere in the phone that could be looked at.

Not size
I doubt it's the size. I'm having the same problem with a 15MB video. To the people who seem to want to suggest putting it on the computer and uploading it: That's obviously not the point, the idea is that the phone should be capable of uploading the file. If there are limits (and I doubt that's the issue) it should inform you of that when you're trying to upload.
Vibrant is still awesome, but it would be nice to know why this is happening.

First of all, this is one thick bloke.
And I have the same problem
41mb file
720p
2min long
very fast wifi
full wifi signal
It runs for about 10-15sec then says "waiting to retry 1 minute". Very annoying and unfortunate. Haven't tried it on an iPhone, but I suspect it just works...
WORK AROUND!
So uploading to Qik works very smoothly and fast. So use Qik to upload to Youtube/Facebook!
Basically go to a computer and link your Qik account with Youtube/Facebook. Then log out of the android app and log back in. Now, go to the video you want to upload and hit the upload button. Wait for it to finish upload. NOW hit the Youtube/Facebook button! Tada!! It will send the video to youtube/facebook after its done processing.
Hurrah!! I haven't tried it over 3G but suspect that its not limited. Also currently uploading so I will let everyone know if its HD or not.
Edit: Never mind, not HD :-(
Did anyone ever figure this out? I can't upload in 720p it appears.
Same problem here. It gets to varying percentages of uploading, then does the "waiting to retry" thing. It never connects again after that. My file is a small 40MB. It sort of blows that Google can't figure this out. It's a Google product on a Google phone. I'm going to try that Quik workaround.
A couple of weeks back I was having an issue with my Captivate and Galaxy Tablet getting super slow download and upload speeds on WiFi. I tried everything I could think of on the router to fix the problem. In the end, it was not really a logical thing that was necessary to resolve the problem. I have an N router, and most of of my equipment that is WiFi capable is G. So, I changed my router's output to G only, since the important stuff is all directly wired anyway, and since then my downloads and uploads fly. They are just as fast as the computer now on speed tests. To put it in perspective, I was getting like 100-400 kbps before hand for both downloads and uploads, and now I am getting 15+ mbps download, and 3-5mbps upload
So, if your problem is really coming from WiFI, I would try setting the router to G mode only (assuming you have something that is N capable.) Also, try changing the channels to something different.
Hope that helps!

Has anyone else had horrid problems with PDANet just vanishing on your computer while you're running uTorrent? Process jsut vanishes, gotta go restart it and reconnect and everything. ROM don't matter, every custom ROM I've had does this crap.
Can someone confirm whether uTorrent works on Wireless Tether or not?

uTorrent and BitTorrent work over my Wifi tether.
Last night I Downloaded how to train....never mind
wireless tether works great with utorrent. Haven't had the best of luck with downloading anything, either ftp or torrent, with PDAnet or easytether
Thanks for the input guys.
I have been using pdanet tether with utorrent for a long time and I think I have figured it out. It works 95% of the time with no problems, however, the torrents with alot of seeders with a good download rate that are coming in "too fast" seem to disconnect it. I'm not sure if it's even the speed, but it seems like it's the number of connections. If you go into the speed guide just lower the setting a bit and it seems to work well. I have mine set on the 17 kbps upload speed and I manually changed it to only allow one upload and download at a time. There are still some torrents which seem to kick it out, but it doesn't happen much anymore. I have also noticed when I go onto google news or another news site and I open like 10 new tabs, for all the articles I want to read, that also will make the pdanet program close or kick me off, so I think it's connections rather than speed. The highest consistent speed I have had downloading from utorrent has been ~170-180 kb/s.

My highest consistent I think was yesterday, a record, of about 160kB/s
Mmmmm... uTorrent will be awesome when the Evo is out
My problem is that the phone gets so hot that it hits the thermal safety limit and shuts off after about 15 mins when doing torrents, this does not happen when playing wow or general browsing.
I can definitely say that it is the speed, and not the number of connections. I am tethered via usb and use utorrent all the time. I also download from sites like uploaded, rapidgator, etc. As soon as my speed gets fast Pdanet stops on my phone. I can not even do one download using zippyshare because they have very fast speeds.
"something" keeps connecting to my 3G Internet Connection.
I don't know what program that is, and I have no idea whatsoever how to find that out...
Please help me out, this is very annoying
Download Spare Parts
Hello
I had a similar problem a while back and found that it was actually YMail app uploading a video that was bigger than the 25mb limit. Thought I had cancelled it properly but it basically uploaded 1gb in the space of 4 hours and thus used all my data allowance.
So, on to the fix.
Download Spare Parts.
Open, Click Battery History. Click arrow at side of top option bar (Think it says CPU usage), Click Network Usage, The culprit should then be at the top of the list.
If it is an app doing it then I am sure a quick uninstall then re-install of the cheeky app should sort you out.
Good luck.
Thanks man, I will try that right away. I will let you know the end result
No problem, really hope it helped.
Not sure if anyone has any leads on a modified APK that allows force upload through 3G. I still have unlimited data usage on my ATT account and just trying to upload files slightly over the limit (waiting for Wi-Fi message is annoying) can be quite a nuisance.
I know this topic may be slightly beaten over, but would be awesome
Oh yeah.. "Waiting to Retry" is fun...
I don't know of an apk to allow upload over 3G, but I also had issues with the "Waiting to Retry"
I let it go for about 30 minutes, and finally just cancelled it. I had a good wifi connection, I was able to use the web browser, and the file was only 202MB (720p video), and yet it never went through.
Hey all;
I saw some DFT clutter on some other ROM threads. It was suggested to make a new thread. I have permission from Mwang to make an error reporting thread so... here it is. Also... for all those who don't have DFT's ROM for the Gold_C you can PM Mwang for download instructions. I am working on getting permission to put links and dl instructions on this thread as well so look for updates. Thank you.
Has a newer version of the DFT rom for GOLD_C been released? One major bug is that wifi mac address changes with every reboot.
Still a badass rom!

-Some programs you cant see well unless you have the theme on dark, I think I read somewhere that it was a common bug in his wp7 roms.
-Maybe not a bug but an issue (If Mwang used sprints rom as a base) the sms bug that limits you to 160 characters per text is present like in the sprint rom
It is soo much better than the the official sprint rom tho
I have been having data connection issues. I will have full service and my data connection on and apps will say I have no connection. I have tried to update my network connection and prl and this continues to be an issue. For whatever reason I can usually go into internet explorer and go to a website and that will work and then return to an app I was having issues with and then the connection works. Seems really strange to me. Anybody else else having similar problems? Any solutions out there?

I can't connect with zune anymore. Two hard resets and two reflashes later my phone is still not recognized by zune software.
I've been having issues sending MMS quite often. To fix it every time I have to go to Settings -> Cellular -> Change Network Profile & Change PRL. That and I have had a handful of random freezes occur all while in the Messaging Hub.

I had issues with mms too a hard reset resolved those
Is a newer version coming out soon for the Gold C that corrects the wifi mac issue?

I have had something similar, although I've found that the internet is working still but incredibly slow, even when connected to Wi-fi, it seems like even with Wi-fi on, the phone prefers to use the network connection. I've found that turning on airplane mode and then using Wi-fi makes the internet work fine and quick, but with both on it seems to go much slower (but not always). Other than that it seems to be working fine
HTC Arrive ROM ???/Issues
I love this ROM, much better then stock but when I am on a call and the computer voice says" press 1 for xxx press 2 for yyy" I press the buttons but the system doesn;t respond like I didn't press anything at all. Also the Speaker volume seems to be 1/2 as loud. Last but not least is there a GPS program I can d/l? I used navigator all the time but since this ROM doesn't come with it I don't know what to use.
Thanks for your time!

you can search for "TeleNav" in the market, "Waze" in the Bazaar, or you can search online for "Nokia Drive" xap where you would have to deploy from your computer. I'm not going to link to the Nokia Drive as I don't know how legal it is to do so.

If you didn't yet, try a hard reset. That solved all my issues. I should have remembered that from the TP2 days...
I too am having issues with the internet speeds. My phone is constantly going into 1x. i can have full bars and it still goes 1x. even with Wifi on the phone still tries to use the cellular data and if that says 1x well its slow as hell. I have re flashed the rom and also done hard resets a few times, it didn't fix it for me, i mean it works great for a little while than the same problems persist.
According to what people are saying in ansar rom, it has the same problem with the connectivity. Hopefully there will be an update to fix this.
Another bug is that picture mail fails 95% of the time. i found that if you switch wifi off and than do a reset it usually works for a few times.
I wonder if we can fix our DATA issue if we input the APN settings into the rom. I used to run droid on my tp2 and we had to configure the APN for things to work as expected. I have searched around google and such and cannot find any working APN settings. Does anyone know of any that will work or have tried it?
Hey guys first off happy Easter to everyone! Secondly, I think I might have found a workaround for the WiFi cutting out on DFT sprint rom for the arrive. If you are on this rom and you have sprint well than you probably noticed the phone always going into 1x and than the WiFi taking forever to load. I had seen a post about shutting off cellular data and that was suppose to help. Well, I tried that and it worked for a little bit but than it stopped.
What I found is that if you change the network setting from automatic to home only that the WiFi no longer cuts out. The phone still says 1x but my WiFi hasn't cut one time and beforehand it was constantly working slow and or not working at all. Also, every picture mail that I have tried to send has went through without a single fail which it was a real pain in the butt to get one to send before. I haven't done too much testing as to whether the phone works better when not in WiFi but since I'm always in the office or at home, I'm always connected. But at least now it's working much much better!
Reg Settings for EVDO (3g is slow)
I have, like others, had similar issues. Also, after updating to the rom i noticed that the 3G speeds have dropped significantly (WIFI off).
I am clocking in at ~300k as opposed to 1.2Mb before even though the phone has 5 bars and EV.
I am not sure if this will provide any insight, or if I am even on the right track/know what i am talkin about, but if i browse the registry to
"HKLM\Comm\Cellular\DataSpeed"
There are settings for only 1xEVDO. Is this right?
What about EVDO rev A?
Thanks in advance for any input!

Doesn't seem like that's what that key is for according to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907971&page=52
Hi everyone!
I'll try my best to explain what the issue is as my level of expertise when it comes to tech stuff is not advanced.
I have uTorrent installed on my Xiaomi Device.
My internet works fine. I have VDSL plan 20 Mbps.
Whenever I download a uTorrent file on my Xiaomi device, it works ok, the download speed is ok. It reaches 2.5 MBps, just the right download speed for my VDSL plan.
However, I have 1 other device (Samsung Phone)
While the Xiaomi Device is downloading the file from its uTorrent app, when I try to go to the internet with this Samsung device, it still detects the wifi signal, but it gives me an error saying my connection has timed out, and that little exclamation mark thing on the wifi symbol appears. When I go to youtube for instance, my Samsung device tells me I'm offline. Now when I look at my Xiaomi device, the download is still running.
Whenever I stop the uTorrent app, the internet comes back in my Samsung device. So I was able to rule out that the problem is the uTorrent. However, this never happened before. My modem router just got replaced as upgraded my ISP's plan. Before, I download things on the internet with no problem at all.
What I did so far?
I adjusted uTorrent's maximum download limit to just 500 KBps, as I was thinking that if I set it to Maximum, it will consume my bandwidth. But no, this didn't work. I was still getting the same trouble.
Hope you guys can help me. Thank you!
