Hello,
How to navigate to a certain contact in the address book? I have searched the web and didn't find anything. I have Navigon 7.4.1 on a HD2 with PocketInformant and Manila. If I choose Outlook Contacts there is only the address book coming up. No Option like "Navigate to" in the Menu. What can I do? How do you do it if you want to navigate to someone in the address book?

Does anybody know a solution?
Where does your 7.4.1 come from - Fresh gives me still a "7.4.0 is the most recent version". I'm using the PDA-version.
Are you maybe using PNA version?

7.4.3 build 793 is the latest version (not official, modified PNA version) and has been for a long period. Waiting for an updated version still.

Hi!
I don't know the exact english strings on the buttons, because I have a german navigon, but I try to translate...
Tab on "My targets"
Tab on "Imported adresses"
Long tab on the Adress you want to navigate to
scroll down in the context menu - the last entry is
"navigate to" e.g. Private adress
that's it
Regards
esociarius

i also have the official 7.4.0, but I have no option to navigate to a contact.

Hi!
Maybe there are errors in the adress. Especially too much blanks in the city-field make the context-menue for this contact disapear. It took a long time for me to find this, because the blanks cannot be seen in Outlook.
Hope this helps

I have a Kaiser with preinstalled HTC Home Weather. I cannot modify the ciies list because the file HH_0410_Weather Cities.xml is in ROM. I modify the register key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SOFTWARE - HTC - HTCHome - Weather - Settings> weatherDB writing a different location in the string value instead of "default". Naturally I wrote in the new location a modified copy of the file .xml. Unfortunatly the program continue to "see" the old list. I tried also to change manually in the reg file the value of the location, but also in this case the visualized list is the old. Can someone help me?
hanks in advance and regards.
Sorry, I solved finded the solution in this site at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319187

Changing HTC Home weather city
Go here and read the Post, download whatever you need and rewrite the XML. It sounds a little much but it works and it's not hard at all. Hope that helps you, Kevin

I'm confused by this, since korky had resolved issue with N2A's thread. What do u mean by "go here"?
After having installed the HTC cab for TomTom (just the app + one free city map) on my Orbit 2 I noticed that TomTom has hijacked the Windows button.
I've been through every option in the TomTom settings, but can't find a way to stop this.
Can anyone advise a simple way of making my windows button go back to its original purpose (brings up the start menu) - other than uninstalling TomTom (I can work that out for myself!)
Thanks,
Roy.
Try the Settings of WM6 !
Mine is german, so i can´t tell you exactly what to do.
I mean it has to be Menu-Setting-Keys
Key 1 is what is changed by TomTom.
Change this setting to whatever you like.

Yeah, in the English version its Start/Settings/Buttons, then change the one that says TomTom to <Start Menu>
thanks
Thank you to both of you.
Exactly what I needed.

Does that work with the Touch Cruise, too? I ask that, because the Touch Cruise has a GPS-Button instead of a Windows button.
PS: I don't own a Windows Mobile phone, but want to buy one in near future.
Yep, curiously the icons for the buttons are for mail and calendar, just like the first two buttons on most WM phones.

But I want one key to open the Windows Start Menu and one key as OK key. Can I assign them like that?
yes, you can assign any application and some functions without troubles.
Hi, I have a HTC P3300 (WM6) and I would really like to know how can I make a shortcut directly to a tab. For example, I want to insert a shortcut in the HTCHomePlug, I did it but I want it to go to a specific tab in it:
iconindex: 0
LaunchApPath: \Windows\DeviceInfo.exe
ResPath: \Windows\DeviceInfo.exe
I want it to go to the last tab "Call Duration" (I don't know how it is written in the English version, I have the Portuguese one). I think I'll have to write something in the LaunchApParam field but I don't know what. I tried using cplmain.cpl but I didn't find one related to "Device Information". Thank you so much!!!
Please, does anybody know? Thanks!
Maybe using something like MESSAGING_SMS_NEW or CALLHISTORY_ALL_CALLS. Thank you!
I found also during a search something with --switchtopage. Is it possible? Thanks!

No. It's not a stupid question at all!, the only stupid was the Google's developer who decided that this feature was irrelevant for ordinary people! I suppose that you, as me, want to be able to identify a place on Google maps, and copy the coordinates to your Navigator software or to the contacts , or send them to a friend to meet...etc
The only way is to "flash back" to the early 2008.... Attached you will find and old Google Maps version. which is the last when you were able to mark a point of the screen as beginning or as end of a itinerary, and then you could see the latitude, longitude and copy them to the copy-board.
The only problem is that you can't have both Google maps versions working together on your device ( or, at least I don't know how do it).
Now, what I do is having both cabs available and install the desired one over the other every time that I need it (it takes just a few seconds)
If someone knows how to have both apps working together, it would be great to share it!

Hi dear,
I'm using Samsung Omnia 7 and I've successfully updated my phone to 7.0.7392.0.
But when I tried to search some place in bing "MAP" application, it just goes the bing search screen. I don't when it's been launched like this.
Anybody can help me?
My phone use I8700XENJK1 CSC.
There is a search button in the app. Just tap it.
Yeah, I did. But it goes to Bing Search.
it's within in the app, not the search button on the phone itself...
cheers,
simon

have a look at the following registry key on your wp7-device:
[HKLM\System\Search\LanguageSupport\xx-XX] (where xx-XX is your locale)
insert or set
RoutingSupported=dword:1
SearchSupport=dword:1
then it should be fixed!
confirmed the bing-search thing (within the maps application) by setting the value for RoutingSupported to 0 on my device --> hitting the search button opens bing search
changing it back to 1 gives me the ability to serch for destinations in the maps application...
cheers,
simon
p.s. your device has to be unlocked to use any registry editor - I used WP7 root tools by Heathcliff74 for changing the registry values...
see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021135
does it work with the changed registry key?
cheers,
simon
I'm trying now Thank you so much mate!
But it still doesnt work....
in which area do you live and what input locales did you set?
the first time I had to change my phone to german (germany) instead of german (austria) to able to search within the maps...
with german (austria) I had the same issues as you have - but with the two registry keys set I'm able to search within bing maps...
Damm, I have asked about this 2 weeks ago
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060443
It worked with polish local settings. Tested on LG E900, used build in registry editor.
PS code for Polish is pl-pl.

BTW: which values did you add?
RoutingSupported=dword:1
SearchSupport=dword:1
or did you add GeocodeSupported=dword:1 as well?

I live in New Zealand and I set en-NZ input locales.
Still I can't search in bing map
Finally it works now on both devices, Samsung Omnia 7 and LG quantum
Thank you guys! It's so useful and easy!
what I have on my device:
regional settings are all to German (Austria)
HKLM\System\Search\LanguageSupport\de-AT
GeocodeSupported : DWord=1
RoutingSupported : DWord=1
SearchSupported : DWord=1
HKLM\System\SearchMaps\Configuration
AutoSuggestTimeoutMS : DWord=600
AutoSuggestUnsupportedLocale : DWord=0
MapsHistoryDeleted : DWord=0
MapsLocationAccess : DWord=1
OnlineAutoSuggest : DWord=1
SearchLocationAccess : DWord=0
SearchLocationConsentPrompted : DWord=1
I had a look at HKLM\System\Search\LanguageSupport\en-NZ as well:
without any changes there are
OnlineAutoSuggestions : DWord=1
SearchSupport : DWord=1
I just changed my regional settings to en-NZ on my device (with en-US as display language), opened bing maps and was able to search within the app (no fallback to bing search)... I was even able to navigate to a destination
What happens if you set your regional settings to en-AU?
Does it work then?
I hope you get your problem fixed...
cheers,
simon

But it seems it can't find any places in NZ.
It's weird.
I just set the one from your configuration. I'm gonna reboot it.
Thank you so much simon

I had the same problem after setting
HKLM\System\Search\LanguageSupport\de-AT
GeocodeSupported : DWord=1
When I delete this entry, search is fine again
I can reproduce this error, when setting the registry key GeocodeSupported : DWord=1 again
seems like some regions (like de-AT or en-NZ) do not support all features of bing maps (en-US has some more features)...
Try to delete the GeocodeSupported key and search should be ok again...
cheers,
simon
Yeah I deleted that key and it works so fine
