I'm not sure if your talking about sprint stock rom with only root (you have sprint stock then rooted) or infinite x's rom with a2sd?
Anyhow if your running sprint stock rom with only root you'll have to deodex com.htc.resources.apk and htcdialer.apk and adb push them back then delete the com.htc.resources.odex and HtcDialer.odex reboot and retry.
Also what dialer are you trying to install?

Hello Everyone,
I have in the last 3 or 4 days joined in the rooted party of phones. With the Stock 2.2 rooted ROM on my Incredible i have tried a number of Circle Battery mods without success.
Thanks to the people that did a walk through on nandroid backups and restores i have not completely broke my phone.
With the above being known i apologize to anyone that reads this and says to them self "IDIOT!!" but i have a few questions I'm hoping i can get some answers on from other people with Incredibles.
1. If I install a different ROM like Cyanogen or Uncommon Sense to get the Circle Battery mod working will i be able to get back to my stock 2.2 rooted ROM using the restore like i did before?
1a. Is doing the ROM update done just like installing a mod "recovery-->install from .zip-->choose .zip"?
2. Is the Stock 2.2 rooted ROM worth staying with?
2a. If not and Verizon comes out with 3.0 or whatever the next number is can i go back to the stock ROM?
3. Does anyone have any known working Circle Battery mods for the Incredible running stock 2.2 rooted? ((I'm looking for something like "Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen") (SCB with %, Version Z, Custom type, colors--> A.))
Thanks for anyone replying.
I'm no expert, but I believe the reason the battery mod doesn't work with your stock ROM is because in order for those types of customizations to work, your ROM must be de-odexed. This is pretty standard in most custom ROMs but is not the case with stock.
As for your questions:

Yes, but when you do the restore everything will go back to the way it was before you flashed the new ROM. You won't be able to restore and keep the battery icon. When you create a nandroid backup, it's essentially a complete snapshot inside and out of everything on your phone.

Yes. Be sure to wipe data/cache when flashing a new ROM though, otherwise you will run into problems. Always have a nandroid backup before flashing anything new just in case!

It depends on what you are looking for. Many ROMs include additional features, performance tweaks and customization options not available with stock. I'd suggest trying a few out to see what fits your tastes. If you're looking for something similar to stock with all the junk removed and ability to add things like custom battery modifications, I would give Virtuous a try.

For the most part, I would just stay rooted, as you'll most likely be able to get an official 3.0 ROM leak before Verizon gets an OTA out anyway. However, there are ways to revert to stock and unroot your device if you really want to. A little searching of these forums can provide you with a guide on how to do this.[/QUOTE]

Wow... thanks for the information XideXL i think i will try a few other ROMs like your suggest and just keep my nandroid backup on hand should anything go bad.
HTC Lockscreen from Sense 3.0 for all you Chefs and Non-Chefs lol...
Source
Just install this .apk, reboot and you will get the new sense 3.0 lockscreen!!
Missed calls, SMS, and more in the lockscreen!!
Also attached is the default 2.3.3 lockscreen incase you dont like it - Just remember to rename it to HtcLockScreen.apk
doesn't work on stock ROM, you can't install system app..
How do you install it?
I also have same problem... >> "you can't install this app"
Could it be you need root access to replace the system files? In which case it could be a bit of a trick
Even more of a reason to get this device S-Off('d)
Shame there isn't really a large 'modding' community backing it
thanks nice
Its a System App hence requires root.
So unfortunately no good to those without root.

Doesnt work on 2.3.4
Tried the apk (which installed fine) and the flash but neither have any effect. Lock screen remains stock....
EDIT: Probably because i found this thread through Google so didnt realise what section i was in... im on a Nexus One

The recovery flash is for Desire S and not the nexus so obviously wouldnt work. Mount points etc in the updater script will be different, thats if it uses updater script.
After installed it, my desire s can't boot anymore.
I guess, when it tries to load the lockscreen, it crashes.
What I am doing wrong :/ ?
Edit:
Ok, now it works. Flashed a custom rom and installed the lockscreen.
But one question left. I guess its not possible to put the mail, telephone... app to this lockscreen like in the sense 3.0 videos.
True oder false?
Sense 3.0 is laggy on Desire S or it works smooth?

Its only the lockscreen of sense 3.0.
But dont worry, works really smooth and its really really cool .
Give it a chance, you'll like it .
I pulled this from Sprint Lovers | 2.2 | 3.70.651.1 to work on the new Gingerbread OTA (4.22.651.2).
This is only for DEODEXED ROMS
EDIT:
I just put up two new zips for the new 4.24.651.1 Gingerbread update
(for 4.22.651.2 use the ones that don't say 4.24.651.1)
(The undo will restore your framework-res.apk to stock condition)
My phone went into a reset-loop.

Which rom are you using? Is it one of the "Stock" roms, or something else?

Can you make these on Synergy Rom?
Is the undo zip reapplying the stock setup, or is there really some kind of undo. Reason I ask is that I see some other mods that don't give an undo and I am wondering if I apply one of them for the battery icon, if I can then apply your undo script to get back to stock.

It only restores the unmodified file, but is not for every rom - only the "stock" roms. You should always do a full backup before you apply any update, just in case it doesn't work...

Great! Thank you, that is what I wanted to use it for.
4.67.651.3
I have had these since the day after they were posted on here and can't stand my phone without it. Can someone make this happen for the newest OTA?
I was using Seanz ICS and I just upgraded to [ROM] [4.1.2] [UCLL3] Stock Debloat (12/26) and everything is working great. However, I re-installed Ti Backup and it told me my phone is not rooted. Whoops. How'd I go from rooted to unrooted by installing this? I even followed all his steps to the letter.
Is there an easy way for me to get my phone rooted again, or do I have to go through the entire process from the beginning again?
On a completely different tangent - Is there a way to get the multi-screen landscape wallpapers to work with this ROM? I loved that on my other ROMs, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it work with this ROM. Yes, I know I could use other apps to do this, but I wanted to know if I could do it without those.
Did you update the super su binaries? Just open it and it'll update them. Multi window is not functional at this time.

There was a file that you needed to flash to gain root. I believe it was a su busybox file. It is the untouched stock but debloated rom (ULL3) and wasn't baked with the su. That's all.
Not sure about the wallpapers. I'm not that keen on fancy wallpapers lol
Hi,*
Would someone please upload the apk file of the dialer from the stock ROM? Mine has crashed and has been acting funny since. I tried restoring it with TB but to no avail. It must've got corrupted right after I rooted my OPO.
I dont have it but you may also want to get the stock contacts.apk as well. In most cases they go hand in hand. Also from which version of stock and why not just flash a stock rom over what you already have to fix it?
4.4.4
Flashing a stock ROM anew is too much hassle. But if nothing else works then I'll have to do it anyway.
