Thank you for letting us know!!!
Wow just wondering has anyone tried it out yet? I will soon and let you guys know.
How do you get a 3 disk final fantasy 7 game in rom format? Will it even fit on a 8gb sd card?
Works great, only games I have tried are the Crash Bandicoots (1+2+3).. FPS seems like it could be a little higher but I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it as it's just a 1.0 version.
EDIT: Personally, I am more excited for n64Droid .
FInally, now to just find the Bios and Spyro here I come!
PSA- The program is called PSx4droid.
EDIT: I figured it out and will post a full tutorial shortly on how to convert everything so that psx4droid see's the roms you want.
same except the file type for me was .7Z.
ap3604 said:
Well I am trying to get it to work...
Step 1: I downloaded the Psx4Droid app.
Step 2: Then put a scph1001.bin file in a new folder I created (to use as the bios file)
Step 3: Then put a final fantasy 7 disk 1 rom (ECM file type) into the same folder as I put the bios file
Step 4: I open the app and I selected scph1001.bin as the bios file
Step 5: Then it gets to the area where the app says to select a rom and I can't see anything but the scph1001.bin file... NO ROM =(
Can anyone explain to me what I am doing wrong? I tried going on the developers website for a tutorial but he doesn't have one yet.
Am I using the wrong file type for the ROM?
Thank you for your help. I'll make sure to make a newbie tutorial once I figure this out so that other people have a easier time doing it and wont have to ask questions

it also looks like Android 2.0 SDK is now available?!

Doesnt this mean it can be compiled into a functional rom now?

the new avd manager and layoutopt look sweet
layoutopt will help alot if i could get hero booting on it hahaha.. il lsee if this is intented to run from emulator or if i can run it while my device is running (will allow cleaning up of file heirarchies ...= less symlinks/useless files the system goes through to find the original file = faster interface less cpu load)

yes
enjoy your brick
hahah jk jk i dont think itd be a good idea because of boot.img compatibility
from what im reading in this sdk stuff it has settings on your avd for multiple res differences... someone grab what our screens can handle post it and you can prolly pull the corresponding boot.img from your sdk
if anything id suggest getting into your adb via emulator and see if you cant just adb pull the system data and framework folders
or you can unyaffs the sdk's "stock" system.img and add/replace apk's for functionality "the google experience" can be added as well
i dont really recall where the SDK sticks its "stock" system.img and boot.img though

as far as sholes idk why the apps werent working i was waiting for the sdk release to play with the dump from sholes
you can prolly make an avd matching sholes specs n boot the dumped system.img from it via emulator if you REALLY wanna play with it
no promises tho there could b closed source stuff in the sholes dump that will prevent emulator from running it
i have SO much stuff to do today by the time i get to my computer someone will have prolyl posted a update.zip

Same here, besides my tethering speed range is 2 - 7m/bits.
I hear its unhealthy for the phone tho.
Anywho... good luck on the work if you get to it. I wish I had the ability to do that kinda stuff.
Love the ability to sync multiple google accounts.
I hope there will be the chance to selectively enable the sync on an account basis, ie : account 1 mail sync on, account 2 mail sync off but contacts on, etc.

Try "about:debug" in the browser (without the quotes), press Go. No page will load, but you'll get extra settings in the Settings Menu. Change useragent to Android.

anyone else have it freeze when you try to press the check mark to exit the game?
Thanks for the heads up!
Selected the Desire option and worked for me. I'm using evil's sense rom.
Anyone else know why the game needs permission to EDIT/READ your SMS'?
Really seemed dodgy at the installation screen.
Played for a bit last night after a nice discussion with ebay and their great systems, but that is another issue heh...
This game is pretty neat for a free game. The game play is pretty good, controls are similar to the ipod/touch controls on the games there.
Kind of funny tho, gameloft tweeted about the free game and when I initially went to download from gameloft.com on the phone, it cost 4.99. I retweeted to them and they said N1's aren't supported/available. I thanked them for the info and went online via PC and downloaded the desire version and had the link sent to me via text, and viola, game on .
For those of you who got the game from GameLoft. I'd be wary.
The installation permission requires that you allow it to edit/read your sms'.
Wth does a game need to edit or read my sms' for? I've got like 110 apps installed and none of 'em require this permission.

Hi i just want to confirm quake 3 for xperia play is awesome and its on the market called zues arena download it now you must own a copy of the original data files
Video Demo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYYM_26Qa44
Download from market
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.zeus.arena
Installation
Download the zues arena.apk from the market section and install it on your phone. (Note you need at least Android 1.6)
Create a directory quake3 in the root of your sdcard and also create a baseq3 directory inside it.
Copy pak0.pk3 of your Quake3 CD (or from the demo) to the quake3/baseq3 directory.
Download the Quake3 1.32 point release and copy pak1-pak8.pk3 to quake3/
Start the game here is a added, Tip i downloaded the (xcsv_bq3hi-res.pk3) and dropped it in the baseq3 folder i can confirm hires actually works great for quake 3 on play.
Very nice, though I don't think I'd ever play Q3A on a controller theme. KB&M is the best way to play FPSs.

I've just this week gone and installed Zeus Area, however making use of the open arena .paks, the game runs excellently with a few tweaks to the default settings which allows for good frames per second on the larger maps. I've got all the Gameloft FPS's and don't think that the enjoyment of playing all of them put together is even close to how amazing the controls work on Zeus Arena.
Best game on Xperia Play.

I'll use this as an opportunity to explain our policy when it comes to console game emulators and ROMs. The emulators are fine to post/share, but the ROMs and BIOS files are considered proprietary/copyrighted software and therefore fall into the warez category. I'm leaving this thread open in case anyone has any questions or comments on this issue.

This could be for a number of reasons but the main one for me is to avoid using special characters in the game title, description, etc. Doing so will cause this error when it comes to compiling (after the 20mins it takes for it to convert the game).

Thanks - I have looked at these threads but still cannot work out what the problem is, ive tried everything!
Hi, i think i know the problem, i had the same issue a couple of months ago, the download you used doesnt let you launch the appliction because its missing fies, i don't understand why.
i don't know where i found it, but i will look and the files you just put in the psxperia folder and it worked.
'.psxperia.247' folder is missing
i will upload it now the full psxperia 2.0 and it should work.
http://www.mediafire.com/?w6cqau7bhgicx8o
The PsxPeria is built in 3 sites. At fitst go to the second one and open the needed psxperia folder(if i remember right its something with crash bandicoot...), and only after that do the rest on the last third site.
thanks all, seems to be working now, its doing something anyway! not sure why my download had some files missing, odd!
Same i never understood that either, glad its working.

20mins to convert a game? How come it takes so long? Mine takes about 30 seconds at most! Converted a small game the other day (might have been motoracer or something) and it took about 10 seconds!
