speech to text Desire v5 - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

i have desire v5 on my hd2...
first time i started the messages application i saw the microphone icon in the keyboard... so i created a google account, then i don't know what i did and the mic icon disappeared... now there is a "setting" icon on the keyboard...
how can i add the mic icon on the keyboard to send vocal messages?
sorry about my english... i'm italian
please help...

anyone can help me?

As you are asking in Android section I guess desire v5 is an Android for hd2. I only own a desire myself so not completely sure
The Mic is for speech to text and only works using English and a few others yet. So when you change keyboard language to anything else it disappears. Only experience from real HTC desire though.

[Q] HTC IME Mod for Sensation?

Hi!
Anybody now of a way to get HTC IME Mod on the Sensation? Tried the normal version but it is to narrow for the screen. Guess it is because of the resolution. Love the keyborad and need it for my Sensation
I posted the same question on original HTC IME mod post, and the answer is that the resolution are not compatible...and no easy way to tweak it.
I just need long-press delay tuning, because french language use apostrophe a lot !
Just thought I would share that I finally found a replacement for the HTC IME mod I now use the Smart Keyboard Pro from market. Has the same functions + many more and fits the qHD just fine!
The HTC IME Mod by jonas would be great on the sensation.

Click to collapse
Swiftkey X also has the ability to change the longpress duration and it has create predictive text options!

[Q] Get the Gingerbread keypad back

Hi there,
I am new to Android, I have to say I am still not 100% happy with it, I am not satisfied with some features like calls log, sms app and particulary the HTC keypad.
The Android 2.3.3 default keypad looks far better, is there a way to put it back on the Desire S ?
I know other keypads are available on the market, I think I'll go to get rid of the HTC soft, so I my Desire S would look like a Nexus S...
Dunno if it's even possible, and I saw a lot of discussions about S-OFF or S-ON, so I checked on my phone but it's S-ON :/
Thanks for reading
Yes, very easy !
Donwnload the app "Gingerbreag keyboard" in the Market and select it like your keyboard in settings. DONE !
Thank you I'll check it shortly

Well what did you make of it, do you prefer it over the Sense keyboard ? Any screen shots ?
I don't use my Desire S yet, because I don't like the sense menus, like contacts or call manager (this is still a phone afterall)...
I tried to install some alternate solutions but the sense is deeply integrated and you can't get rid of it, adding other tools just slow down the performances.
I am french, and the thing that disturb me the most in the sense keyboard is that the "m" letter is located just near the "n" letter, like on qwerty keyboard, whereas it is should be located next to the "l" letter on azerty keyboards.
So I am now waiting for the S-OFFing tool to be avaible so I can get back to a naked rom.
Install the MultiLing keyboard (market) and you can have a French keyboard layout

Official ICS Keyboard on Sensation

Hello !
My Sensation has received OTA ICS.
Before that, with GB 2.3.4 I was using 3 languages in same keyboard English, French and Arabic by clicking on the screen and changing the mode.
I cannot see this option in the update, so I cannot active the permutation between French/English and Arabic and must close the keyboard, go to settings and choice Arabic keyboard before continuing my multilanguages texts.
The tutorial say that the permutation has to be done into the settings that are inside "input keyboard" but there is not Arabic inside that. Arabic keyboard is a separated option.
If anybody found a solution and can help that would be very nice. Thank you in advance.

Good morning !
Finally I found myself the solution. So,
simple ! When the keyboard is activated, a small icĂ´ne appears at the top of the screen in the status bar. When scrolling the quick menu settings the keyboard mode settings appears. And here we can change the mode.
Previous method in GB was very convivial and practical because everything was done directly on the same screen.
Thank you and sorry if this thread is unusefull for most of you.
Regards

Hi,
I use embryo 6.6 and its just fine rom.
The only problem is it doesnt have hebrew (not in the keyboard also)
And when I'm trying to install a hebrew keyboard from playstore, the sms text I send is question marks and not letters.
The very intresting thing is that most of jelly bean roms includ hebrew build-in( and alot of other language ) But I have very bad call quality with them.
I have to stay with embryo 6.6 because of the good call quality, stock is also fine but have the same problem with hebrew..
Maby I can take lang pack from one rom and put it on mine rom?
Thank you
There was a stock JB Google keyboard in the apps and themes section in which you can add languages...I use that and added Arabic to it and it works fine beside English...
Let me know if you find it, or I upload it to you...
Edit: Why don't you also try to add Hebrew in the new Swype from languages list ?
Oh..for the sms issue, go to messages settings and choose auto in input mode....
You're searching for answers to the wrong problem.
No matter what keyboard or ROM you're using, go to SMS settings and switch "Encoding" from "Automatic" or whatever it is on to "Unicode". That will solve your Hebrew turning to question marks issue.
And now you can use any Samsung ROM and any keyboard. Enjoy.
