how to change SMS Timestamp ? - General Questions and Answers

hi...i am a blackstone user and on the rom im using the SMS timestamps are always +1 hour.... i used the Advanced config tool to see if daylight saving was enabled or not... its disabled by default by the rom cook... i used a Timestamp fix posted somewhere on xda which makes the SMS timestamps appear of the celltower but thats just a mess.... either the messages are +10mins or -10 mins never accurate time... this makes reading conversation totally useless...
i wanted to know if there is any way to make the cellphone in WM 6.5 give timestamps to messages on the basis of the time of cellphone at which message was reveived and not of celltower or daylight saving time....

Messaging settings - can't find them

I installed the new official 6.1 ROM from HTC on my Touch Cruise. I is working gread, but there is one VERY annoying feature that I want to get rid off, but I can't find a way.
It is that foolish manner of showing the SMS messages as some kind of chat conversation. How can I get rid of that ? I want to use the old fashioned way of SMS being just an SMS, not a chat conversation.
Search the forum for the registry entry to turn off threaded SMS.
I have seen this new feature on the new ROM and I thought it was cool at first. It's starting to annoy me a little bit, so we'll have to see whether or not I get that annoyed I have to turn threaded SMS off.
yeah some parts are a bit annoying. like viewing the timestamp of a text was sent a couple of days ago. haven't quite figured that one yet. the other thing is the performance hit with threaded sms, as well as when the keyboard pops up combined with the area to write in, not much space is left to see the previous message anyways. maybe i should turn it off....haha...

I take this back. It's pretty annoying now!
After digging about, I found this superb fix in a .cab file:

Threaded SMS broken, need fix!

Hi, everyone,
I recently flashed a custom ROM that I really, really like, stable and fast (HelteROM). But there's a HUGE glaring issue that's wrong with it, and that's threaded SMS.
For some reason, I can't respond to texts at all while threaded SMS is enabled. Opening the SMS from the TouchFLO 3D tab, opening them from the inbox, it's all the same: the words SMS/MMS show up on the taskbar, but otherwise the screen doesn't change. The SMS doesn't load for me to reply to it.
Tapping the X does nothing to remove the SMS/MMS text from the taskbar, either. I have to press the Home key to be kicked back to the Home screen, and I STILL haven't been able to open the SMS to reply to it. ;_;
Turning off threaded SMS from Advanced Config lets me respond to the texts just fine, so I know it's a threaded SMS issue. Is there some sort of cab that I can install to fix this issue? I've run into the same problem numerous times from different custom ROMS, but I've dealt with those by flashing different ROMs instead. I wanna stick with this ROM, though, so I could REALLY use the help!
Same problem
I have the same problem that you describe on my stock Sprint Touch Pro. I cannot open or reply to SMS messages when threaded SMS is enabled, but I can see them in classic view.
This happened pretty recently, and I think it was because an e-mail that it for some reason didn't like was forwarded to my phone as a text message.
I've tried deleting the cemail.vol file and that didn't fix it. If you figure this out, I'd love to hear the solution.

Threaded SMS/text order issues

Have any Captivate/Galaxy S forumers experienced the issue where, when replying to a text message right after it is received, your reply is placed BEFORE the text message on the threaded SMS view. It is a superficial issue I suppose, but it can get confusing trying to follow conversations and such.
Has anyone heard of this problem, or even better, a fix for it? I've tried setting the system time a few minutes later/earlier with no real results.
yes i have also noticed this myself. it is a pain sometimes
For me, the replies to my messages are actually date stamped 5 hours backwards so show up muchj earlier in a threaded conversation. I have not been able to find a working fix but a workaround was to install Handcent sms (free in Market). It threads everything properly and is actually a pretty nice widget that shows you the latest texts....
Would love a native fix however so please advise if you've found one...
I had this problem. I fixed it by manually setting the system time.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I'm having the same issue. For me it's related to texts coming from a different time zone. If I manually set my time to the time where the texts are coming from, everything is fine. I've been using Chomp SMS, which is pretty nice, but I'll try Handcent. When I restart the threads are correct sometimes but eventually get messed up again.
For me it's from every single phone number, no matter what the time zone. But i've temporarily fixed it with handcent, though the default sms client is classier looking.
Mine did this as well and to solve the problem go into your settings and manually adjust your clock 1 minute up so if its 12:30 set your clock to 12:31 and this solved my problem, hasnt messed up since i did this

[Q] how to remove threaded sms view in htc touch2

Guys i want to turn off threaded sms view on my htc touch2....can any1 help me ??
still no reply
sure, no problem here
Download advanced configurater (v3.3 i think) from this forum and install it. It it there is an option to turn off threaded sms (although there should be this option natively on the phone somewhere).
Adv config is a very useful tool, just limit your tweaks to 1 or 2 a day so you know what to revert should you get carried away
Word of warning though, if you have sms's on your device and they are threaded, turn this function off will screw up how your texts are presented, same goes if you turn it on and they werent threaded.
Your better off starting your texts afresh when turning this on or off.
Cheers.

Text Messages not in threaded order

I was running BAMF and loving it. I have one problem though. When I receive a text sometimes the time stamp is not correct. This causes the order to be incorrect in the threaded view. Any suggestions?
Download SMS fix app from the market. set it to use phone time and future time.
I'll give it a shot.
