Hello I have searched the threads looking for a rom and radio which will allow me to reach a full day's use or more using my extended battery. I have my unit set to download rss feeds every 15 mins as well as emails. Of course it will be running software such as SPB shell which will be updating the weather as well. So far with the current 6.1 rom which I am running along with radio 1.18 the unit doesn't seem to hold a candle to this use. I have read in other threads of the 1.18 radio being the best just would like to know which is the latest 6.1 with the best battery consumption. All help is appreciated in advance
On my personal experience
Toml 8.2, 8.5 and 8.9 are very god stable ROM´s with great battery life
Test them all and decide for yourself!
Hey I am at work at the moment during a flashing to radio 1.18 I lost all my info on the device (I didnt read the instructions had my sd card in slot (long story)). Anyhow was wondering what was on average your usuage and consumption of battery. I am debating buying a bigger battery (bigger than the one I have) which I am eyeing on Ebay. As you can tell I can't wait to have my unit flashed and with a reliable battery life. I just recieved the phone and love it just hate carrying around a charger
When I was using the recommended ROM´s my battery life was aprox of 1 day and a half using:
1hr WIFI
2hr Bluetooth
A lot of calls
With my original battery from 2005.
I would not buy a bigger one, Unis is big enough to put a bigger battery, I would buy another original battery.
After many tests I've gone to Tomals 8.2 Vanilla rom, It's stable good at everything and its vanilla so you install what you want
aktopshooter,
I have several batteries. Under constant useage (no wifi/gprs/bt/ir, backlight on, phone on, SD in)
Best PU16A 1620mAh lasts 3hr 30mins
My only 3200mAh (double-size battery) lasts 6hr 10mins [I bought of eBay]
I repeat, this is under constant useage (test conditions) with backlight continuously on.
I usually tend to carry two normal batteries if I know I'm going to need juice, rather than the double-sized one for same reasons as Orb, Uni is big enough without a huge battery sticking out!
I would like to thank all who replied to my question. I have loaded a tomal rom and also started to use my regular battery versus my extended my battery. I was blow away by the normal battery for some reason it seems to out perform my extended battery. I am easily getting through a day with out even worrying about charging the battery through out the day. I am downloading mail every 15 mins and checking rss feeds every thirty mins plus lots of texts and calls the battery handles it well. My extended battery is nice but I rather the slim oem battery it just makes the phone feel hell of sexy and appealing

Unfortunately, Uni is not known for its great battery life compared to other devices simply due to the demands of a large screen. Various ROMs will be more or less economical when it comes to battery, but don't expect a huge improvement.
As far as getting a battery on eBay, be very careful. The last battery I purchased charges and drains at the same speed.
Also don't buy batteries from dealextreme, they are crap
Hi!!
Reading this post, I will go a little "off topic", but where to buy on line good battery.
My 3200 is dying.... and I lost my standard battery cover...
Can anyone give a help: standard battery and standard cover...
Thanks

best for me 8.2 version
Does anyone know if HTC will create an extended battey for this phone?
Hardly. Case is solid, there's no space for it.
I found this 1800mAh one. It is not made by HTC but it should support Desire S.

doesnt look reliable.. but its mugen whi makes that battery. dont buy from tha website, go to the official mugen website.
are you having problems with the battery life for desire s?
experience says 3rd party batteries doesn't do justice... eventhough they have a higher rating, they perform more poorly than the orginal lower rated battery.
My battery seems pretty weak, one day of moderate usage, and it was gone, a little bit of everything, wi-fi (no more than 1 hour all day long), games, calls, camera, browsing through the menus, aprox 40-50% backlight only slightly above my average use...
how long should it keep the phone running for?
can't find reliable info on this, too few people have this device, I hope the comunity gets bigger
1.1800mah seen it's not reliable
2.there is one movable charger in markey
any ideea if there is an extended battery for the phone connector? for sos when you remain without battery and desparate need the phone
it will be good to upgrade the battery..very fast one to drain up.
found somewhere samsung gs2 already come up with 2100mAh battery which is very good

But a huge 4.5" screen, Like HD amoled scrren, 1.4 dual core..
That will drain the large battry around the same as a standard phone!

I use this one as an emergency battery pack. Can highly recommend it. There are cheaper ones out there, but they usually break or don't meet the claims of their capacity...

Maybe i've got to reset battery controller history?
and how to do this? ))
that's because it probably isn't as good as the original battery. it's from ebay and the fact that it's painted gold just makes it even more hard to believe.
You should always get a battery from a reliable company.
the mugen power is £30 from mobile fun.

ah :/ What is wrong with promoting cheaper prices?
why coudnt the mod just delete the posts? It was a good reference!
I dont know for sure, if this was the reason. It was special offers for limited persons, so this could be...
But i absolutly agree with you!
And as i was a mod in a german board some time ago i think it is a shame to delete a whole thread --> very, very sad...
If you're like me and use your ChaCha all the time and can't help but notice it's incredibly poor lifetime. I have found a solution for you that does not require you to have a separate PowerBank.
Get this battery from Ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2430MAH-H...084?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e66923a44
And Use My CamDroid 1.5 (Lightweight ROM). Updates available regularly to flash.
Enjoy, I have already tested the 2430MAH Battery from Japan with my ROM and it works like a dream.
TechMayhem
Very slim for a 2430MAH. Quite weird
Yeah I know, it seemed quite weired to me aswell but then they continue to say on other sites that it's a new type Japanese energy compressing technology??
It sounds out of the mobile world but it worked for me - give it try if you need the extra power. Free Shipping to UK Only.
Negative feedback for this guy relates mainly to these extra capacity batteries and how they are either worse than standard or just 1250 ones with a sticker on them.
Good luck, but I'm not going to be first to try it!

qbert456 i can assure the battery worked for me - if it didn't i would have posted a link saying why not to buy it immediately - but i took my time to test it.
I also checked the negative reviews and none of them are for the ChaCha - there all for different HTC's and I also checked the Positives, the guys sells thousands of products and has received more good feedback for batteries then bad all together.
Don't worry about a few cases that are not even for this phone, it is an amazingly awesome and provides an outburst of battery life.
Have you tried CamDroid 1.5?? I got a PM by someone saying it was not too bad afterall.

I better have 2 batteries on me. Always one battery full in my wallet
couldn't you benchmark both batteries?
play a video loop on both and check the time it plays?
just to let us see how much improvement is there
this would be helping wouldn't it?
or jsut get circular battery indicator,
it shows, when it has been taken off the wall and what charge it had then./ how much is left.
this would be simply the best method without efforts i assume
My mate bought me this battery as I moaned up the pub about battery life.
As expected, based admittedly on only one day, its not as good as stock one so far, depleating at a quicker rate.
But this is by no means a long or scientific test!
Still for the money (free to me) can't complain, but 2340? Not likely it really is 2340 tbh , as expected.
Will report back with further use!

I ordered this battery and finally got it yesterday. Charged it up, and after 12+ hours of background syncing, a few phone calls and texts, and some browsing, battery life is still at 90%! So far, I'm very impressed, and I hope that I can extend the battery life even further with additional charging.
You sure its not the placebo effect??
Mine , ordered from same seller, is not much different!

You may be right. Less than one day's usage may not be too accurate. I'll give the new battery a month and report back my findings then!
How many days ?
how do you charge it? Isn't there any other way instead in phone. I want to use it as first battery and keep my original one in case this dies. Any suggestions?
what about the tests and findings? any updates on the battery's life?
I've ordered it and I'm waiting it. Will let you know when its here, and what the performance is.
i have just placed an order too... shall check back when it has arrived.
having said, it would be great if the dialer issue can be plugged. my phone seems to be quite afflicted by it.
as i know this battery need to have a 1st, 2nd & 3rd charge for 10hours for the battery to have good result. do not use external charger due to some external charger will stop charging once it's fully charged & just maintain at certain % like for 90% will charge again when it drop below that. not very sure cause i have yet try it xD
Hi,
I'm just a simple guy using HTC Desire. It's been 1.5 years and it's time to get a new battery. I wanted to get this japanese 2430mah battery but I understand it's a scam.
So instead I wanted to opt for an original battery. However I do not understand why the original battery in the official UK htc store costs 3 times as much than it is on amazon.co.uk. Is this because it is not truely genuine? Why is it so complicated to get a new battery?
All I need is a battery that would last me from morning till I go to sleep at night. I do use bluetooth, wifi and mobile internet quite a lot. That's it.
Thanks for all your help,
Timmy
No one here knows if the batteries sold on Amazon are genuine or not?
Depends on who is selling the batteries. Is it being sold and shipped by Amazon or is it a 3rd party who is selling and shipping through Amazon Marketplace?
This is a third party. It's all very confusing. As I said above the price for what is supposedly the same battery on the HTC shop is 3 times as much.
battery not good
I bought a battery from China through dealextreme, a 1400 mAh 3,7V PISEN battery, because my orginal was getting kind of old...
It was good for 1-2 month's but after that my original 2 year old HTC battery was performing better. I would think twice before buying something else than a original battery again.
i too have fallen foul of the fake batteries, i just want something that gives me better on time without resorting to the hump back batteries
I too think I'm in need of a new battery, I guess I'll sift through ones on eBay for now..
I bought a new original htc batterie. How can I check whether it's original or crap ?
( at now, not in two month)

easy really should look exactly like your old one [ exactly ] maybe the numbers might be different but you can usually tell just read the battery word for word on the back if something's missing or something is added then its usually a fake. Had trouble before with Chinese copies -.- hate them
I'll be testing a 1800Mah battery soon and will post a thread about its performance, my battery is a year old and my phone deserves a new one
don't buy a battery from 3G-Power with 2400mAh..it's total crap. my 2 year old original battery is better..
My point was, my battery was good for approximate 3 months, but after that performance decreased rapidly. Even a good test would most likely say my battery was a good buy, if it was done on a new one.

Genuine HTC battery
I bought a genuine battery off Amazon (UK). Arrived this morning, seems to be identical to my genuine HTC battery. I investigated other options, but few people seemed happy with their higher mA batteries, so went for stock.
As this is my first post and XDA seems rather fascist in its approach to trying to limit noise (which doesn't work, IMHO; look at the number of posts in the Desire ICS threads about non-working cameras...), I can't post urls. I can't even post the url without the url tags. Very frustrating.

For HTC for alternative batteries try to look for Mugen Power.
which model we are talking about? but for instance for Desire Z they have 3600mAh

reviews of Mugen batteries are promising.

you can try to recalibrate your battery, using either a option of your recovery or an app from the market.
My battery is nearly 2 years old, and using latest version of this ICS Rom it's now 22% after... 2 days and 14 hours of medium use !

what is the make ?
thanks
My advice if you want more days of usage without losing long term usability would be to go with mugen power batteries as mine has lasted 6 months with good consistant usage. This does mean that you will have to put a new battery cover on but hey, 2-3 days of usage isn't bad.
Actually, for $60 you can get a battery worth your time and money with double the power of a stock HTC Desire Battery on Amazon. I am planning to buy this soon because reviews look promising.

Hi all.
I want to know how many charge-discharge cycles does HTC One X battery have?
Will the battery last more than 2 years? Quite uncommon, but I would not like to change my smartphone for quite some time (> 5 years ??).
I have read that due to uni-body design we cannot remove HTC One X battery.
So even if I want to get my device repaired after battery's life is over, can i not get the battery changed through HTC or some repairer?
Similar question for Samsung SII. I read that the Super AMOLED Plus screen gives lot of burn-in and other issues. Is it possible to get the screen replaced after it becomes unbearable. How much would that cost?
Thanks for replies in advance.
Regards,
amit112amit
Actually I'm also interested in this. I'm planning to use the device more than 2 years.
From what I saw from the attached image, battery can be changed from pins theorically after all.
I have not seen sellers of such battery. Anyone saw any ?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Well the thing I was wondering about these days is can we just replace one x battery with one x+?
I think it's possible, because everything is the same, I mean size and connection.
So, if you can buy htc one x+ battery, you can put it in your htc one x and have a nice upgraded 2100 mAh battery instead of 1800!
I'm wondering if the HOX will still be as solid and tight after tearing the entire thing apart and putting it all back together. Creaking along the edges sure is unwelcome.
The phone's battery is ok, but just turn the screen's brightness to low
Hello, I had many of the same concerns about this phone before I purchased it, however, after having the phone and using it for a while as well as reading about the battery life of the lithium polymer battery, I'm confident it will last quite a while. Just note that the screen does take up A LOT of juice, therefore I have a widget to change the backlight to whatever percentage I want...normally at 10-15 unless brighter is needed...it's still pretty bright at zero. Also, there are a few games that really kill the battery, so make sure to be near an outlet if you want to play those for very long. But for the average person's usage...the phone's battery charge will last for a whole day...maybe needing to plug it in once during the day and at night if you use it heavily like I do. I've read that lithium polymer batteries actually work a little different than lithium ions; where they don't have a set number of charges, but if you keep the battery in good health, it should last a lot longer overall than the L-ions do. I normally don't even charge up to 100 because of a few articles I read about these new batteries. I usually charge it when it gets down to 15-20 and take it off in the 90s... it's a very fast charge too so you don't have to wait forever for it.
Best widget for setting the brightness I found is called... Brightness level
Also make sure to get Battery HD Pro... it tells you exactly how long you need to charge it for...tells the percentage of charge in the upper left hand corner of the device...and give you the temp and health of the battery. They have a free and pro version...not sure the difference but the pro version is cheap and very helpful.
Also turning screen timeout down helps
