i take my HTC Polaris abroad and use the sim card purchasing from the local operator, the problem is the SMS i sent to another local cell phone is unreadable in case of simple Chinese character in it, the the same SMS,only digit and engilish can be recognized.
In this cell phone, 'using unicode when necessary' had been selected,and i already check the regist table as following : _current_user->microsoft->inbox->SMSUnicode=1;
I'd changed wm6.1 and wm6.5(simple Chinese version) and tried send SMS to myselft,it still has the same problem.
it seems that unicode does not work when i send SMS with Chinese character,who can help me to solve it,many thanks.

i have all my contact numbers saved as they are locally ie. in the uk 07xxxxx i've recently went to egypt on holiday and found that i could not dial the numbers directly even though i changed my time zone to "visiting Egypt" under settings ( for some odd reason i assumed that my ppc would be smart enough and change the dialing code automatically) I have to change the number and add +44 to every number i dial. is there a better way of storing and dialing numbers other than going through my contacts adding country codes

I think Paul from Modaco once wrote an app to update all contacts thuswise automatically; however, I haven't seen the program for a few years, you could try asking him for a copy if you get stuck.

I have started facing a new kind of a problem with windows ROM 6.1 version. in this version when, if in a contact more than one number is saved and a text message is recieved from any number of that contact, nobody can figureout from which among the two numbers it is from!!! for eXample:
If i receive a message from a contact named DAD having three numbers in that contact namely 1. office number,
2. Airtel mobile number,
3. Vodafone Mobile number
then it is impossible to enquire that from which among the three numbers did actually the message came!
Is there any way of removing the CHATBOX type of view of 6.1 version ROM and restoring it to the initial and original type of view? if anybody knows the way, plz reply.

yeah im looking to remove that from sms aswell
when i try to find a word in a sms and the filter does not find it
want normal sms view, dnt like wm6.1 sms system.

Hello folks.
I got my brand new Touch Pro today and have (I hope) a small problem.
I synchronized Outlook 2007 contact book with my HTC Touch Pro and sent kind of a group message to my friends, but when they reply back, only a number is being shown, so even If they are stored in my contact book (their number is stored as a mobile number) their name is not appearing and when i click on their name a message pops up that this number is not stored in the contact book (even if it is).
Is this a bug or just a matter of some settings ?

How did you send the sms? And what format does the phone number when you received it? It might explain what happened.
The solution was
"Use a registry editor and go to HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value is by default 8, i.e 8 Digits. Change that to 7 and soft reset."

Some of my contacts have multiple mobile phone numbers, say one for Spain, one for France and one for Germany (also multiple SMS numbers). I have a hard time to get all these numbers into the WM-Outlook in one contact, as there's only one mobile-phone field. Can't I somehow get more custom fields like mobileFr, mobileSp, mobileDe, homeFr, homeSp etc..?

In short, no. outlook is limited to only one mobile number.
hm..is there a way to add info to the phone number, eg doesn't seem to work: 0123 456 789 (mobile Spain)

As i flash my phone a few times, i have my contacts on my sim. Normally I copy the contacts to phone but I'm using MyPhone too, so it downloaded the contacts automatically. Now if i delete my contacts from my SIM, the name isnt displayed when that contact calling(That contact is still in phonebook but not in sim) For example, my mother calls me, Mother--05xxxxxxxxx and if i delete her from SIM its like 05xxxxxxxxx only, just number. Please help me.By the way, in some contacts[1 or 2 not too much] if its not in sim only in phonebook it still shows the name, there isnt problem.I want all of them like this, when i delete from SIM, still show the name from Phone.
