So i was tired of wiping the phone everytime i removed an unused widget. so i exported all the /data/data and found the database that keeps it.
/data/data/com.htc.launcher/databases/launcher.db
all you need to do is download sqlite browser from http://sourceforge.net/projects/sqlitebrowser/ open the db file. browse the data widget_item_types
remove all the widget that you removed . save it and upload back to phone. (have to be in recovery to put the file back.)
no more wipe

I downloaded a music file (using U torrent for android) to the Internal Storage/download folder. I tried to delete it but it is grayed out and unable to do so. how can I delete that folder and it's contents? Thanks in advance.
Might the file still be "in use" by the uTorrent application? Try fully stopping the torrent file and deleting it from within the app if it has the option.
Ran into a similar problem. If the above doesn't work you will need to delete the file without booting into the OS.
Options:
1. Reboot and try to delete the folder again.
2. Custom recovery with file manager and delete from there.
3. Boot into bootloader and use adb to delete the file.
All of these options can be learned courtesy of Google.

Sorry if this is the wrong section for this question, as its really out of place, and I fear the pictures are just forever gone.
When I installed Android 5.1.1, my phone created a new "0" sub directory, and so I had to move everything into a new directory. My pictures from KeepSafe will now not show up. When I open the app it doesn't show anything. I tried deleting and installing the app again and backing up the colder, deleting it, and restoring the backup. Anyone know a way to get the pictures back?
The old KeepSafe you could just use a file explorer and change the extension and see the image but it has a new encryption now.
The pics that were in the app were family vacation pictures, in case you're wondering, and they were cluttering my gallery so I decided to move them to the app and I was gonna move them out later. Now they are not showing up.
Keep safe
1). Clear data of keepsafe
2). Install lucky patcher
3). Open the menu of patches for keepsafe
4). Remove license verification lunch app you are ready to go
Important : first do it ......
You have to copy your old file of keep safe ,find in SD card / folder name .keep / copy and replace it it with new .keep folder , which is created by keepsafe
It worked for me ,I hope it will for you too
Hello.
I tried to install a system app with titanium backup that was on my ex tablet mcube (doesn't matter which ) and it failed so i manually deleted the apk file but whenever i reboot my tablet a folder is been created /data/data/mcube and titanium backup lists that app as uninstalled without backup (I deleted it). There is also no entry of mcube in dalvik-cache folder.
So what causes the /data/data/mcube to be created every time i reboot?
What i think is that installed apps make an entry on a file and i need to delete that entry but i just cannot find that file...
Can someone help?
I run kit-kat.
OK the file I was asking for is at /data/system folder but i flashed my tablet and mcube was there so before i lose my mind bye -.-
I have the same problem. How did you fix it?
Some are asking how to reset phone usages without formatting data.
here's what I am doing just to reset my usages:
I'd say much better if your phone is rooted, and a nandroid backup just in case there is something wrong on what you've done.
-Must be rooted and must have a root capable file explorer/manager.
On internet usage:
open this folder in /data/system/netstats/*
inside that folder, delete all files. DON'T DELETE THE FOLDER ITSELF.
it will cause bootloops
On battery usage, find the following, if not all of them are present, delete the existing file:
delete the following inside /data/system/* : batterystats-checkin.bin , batterystats-daily.xml, and batterystats.bin
On process stats/usage:
inside /data/system/procstats/* , delete all files inside that folder, again don't delete the folder itself.
also open /data/system/usagestats/0/* , delete all the files inside the following folders: daily, monthly, weekly, and yearly.
in other roms, the path is /data/system/usagestats/*.
do not delete the folders. might cause bootloops
After that, reboot normally. after rebooting, you will notice that usages are back to its lowest values.
I hope it helped for some who has problems regarding phone's usage.

I was searching for this.
Hi, I am running Stock Nougat on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A6.
I have completely deleted all files in Download, yet when I encounter an open files dialog, as per e.g. Google Docs and go to internal memory, the Download directory has every file I ever downloaded grayed out.
I have cleared all app caches, even deleted the My Files data. I have wiped the cache partition.
This is driving me nuts. Isn't My Files the Samsung file system? When I call that up, I see nothing in Download. Just when an app has an open files dialog.
Please help!
Thanks
Brian
Is it possible that you have set some auto-syncing with your cloud storage?
Not unless it is possible to do so unintentionally... but why the download directory? I suspect it is a Samsung "feature". My Moto Zplay2 works as expected - clean out download and nothing appears when you want to open a file.
But thanks, anyway!
