Favorit Widgets.. Post them here!!!! - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

I will update this post later tonight with screen shots of my favorit widgets. I want this post to include peoples favorit widgets, a description on that or those widgets(sometimes pictures arnt self explanitory). Also what launcher you are using may or may not be neccessary.
Thanks, Thomas
P.S. I will update this in a few hours with my favorit widgets and descriptions on them widgets. Just trying to get the ball rolling already because its mid day here and widgets are a hot topic for people not using sense. Also mods if there is already a post like this you can delet this post.

I'm using the paid version LauncherPro Plus, and heres the widgets I like:
The People widget that LPP includes
Fancy Widget (identical to the htc time/weather widget)
Pandora Widget (pandora radio)
Pure Grid Calendar
Switch Pro (has about everything you could want to see and/or toggle on/off, including 4G, vibrate, battery % remaining, brightness, flashlight, wifi, gps, etc.)
Twidroid
Androidlet Photo Widget (lets you show photos from a variety of sources (think photo.net, pbase, webshots, flickr, picasa, sdcard, etc.) , rotates them based on set time you specify)
Also heres a cool little read:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38331124/ns/technology_and_science-wireless/
I like what they wrote here:
Enter DoubleTwist. It looks like iTunes, runs on Windows and Mac machines, and syncs with most or all Android phones, just like iTunes syncs with iPhones. It slurps all of your music and video files from iTunes, and even pulls up your iTunes playlists. (If you're like me, this is of utmost importance.) DoubleTwist has Amazon's music store and Android's app market built in, and it even notifies you when you have music files that aren't compatible with it, because of Apple copy protection. It's not perfect, but it's a huge step forward for a platform that needs a better media juggler. Best of all, there's a DoubleTwist app for the phone itself, so you can easily find videos, albums and playlists. And did I mention it's free?

I like the moreicons widget, so dope keeps any necessary icons on the home page. Running launcher pro w/ 3D, so I have no need for more than 1 screen!
Also have Divi Clock

Recommanded apps/Must have applications

I made this thread, so that you could recommanded aps that works with your x10. Etc apps that you frequently use and so on.
I hAven't gotten mine yet, but I will probably get the same main apps as I had on the magic.
1. Gulesider( a Norwegian app, a really nice app. A easy way to find phone numbers etc. It does also show the name of the person that is calling you)
2.advanced task manager( allows you to shut down some of the apps running on your device)
3. AndFtp ( a FTP app)
4. Glance( file manager)
5. Pure calendar(a good looking calendar widget for your android phone, there is a theme for it that is transparent. Love this widget tbh)
6. Spotify
7. Yr.no (a weather widget)
8. NRK radio
9. OI File Manager/OI Notepad
10. TV Guide
11. Science facts
feel free to share some of the android Apps that you like.
Im using same apps as on the legend and hero.. Good habits are hard to change:
gulesider and yr ofcourse.
Estrong Taskmanager (my choise of taskmanager)
Estrong File Explorer
Dolphin Browser (really great browser for android)
Zedge Ringetones & wallpapers (Great selection, and ofcourse, since they're norwegian)
Weather Widgets (yr.no) - Copies the HTC flip clock (Which I love !)
Battery Graph - nothing like analyzing that battery drain!
SuperDial for faster contacts lookup.
i am using:
takephone (smartdial app)
gblocker (call filter app)

first of all, it is called Spotify
and yes it does exist for the android platform
And I would say that it works better than the one for the iPhone. I can't really say anything about the symbian version, since I have never had a symbian phone. And probably will never have, since I do not like that OS....
So, here's my list:
Advanced Task Killer
Battery Time Lite
Spotify - Rocks
Reader widget - Excellent for my google reader-feeds
Scoreboard - Football scores
Calwidget - Nice widget for my calendar
Handcent SMS - Brilliant SMS app
aTAKEphone - Nice phone/dialer-ap
YR.no widget - Weather widget
mVideoPlayer - Handy video player
ASTRO - Excellent file browser
FlashLightApp - widget using camera light
Apps Organizer - Quite useful with widgets for labels
Barcode Scanner - Scann app-barcodes
FotMob - Excellent football-app
FxCamera - Fun camera app
GPS Logger - Logs your GPS-position to file - can be used to geotag your SLR-shots for example
Gule Sider - norwegian national phone book
Locale - Auto-change settings based on location
PdaNet - Tether
StopWatch - you got it
TV Guide - Norwegian tv guide
Zedge - wallpapers and ring tones
bloo - facebook application that actually gives you notifications on useful things like comments on posts. The official android facebook app cannot do this.
I've got a new one to add:
NewsRoom
A wonderful take on the typical RSS reader, this app allows access to RSS feeds as preview pages, which you can flip through and select for full articles. Much more complete and interactive than a typical text-list layout of most RSS readers.
Weather Widget ( now called Weather & Toggle)- HTC Clock/weather widget and system toggle widgets. Is also skinable.
Weather Widget Weather addon- Adds a weather forcast when you tap on the weathr icon on the clock.
Handcent- Best SMS app
Astro- Awesome File explorer AND taskkiller ( many don't know that it has a great task killer included)
FlashLightApp- A one button on/off widget to turn our camra light on or off.
GPRS Monitor- Monitors data usage
Pure Grid Calander- Mimics the HTC calander widget
Sportstap- Best sports updates, scores, news, even notifications.
OperaMini5- Web Browser
Aldiko- Ebook reader
WiFinder- WiFi finder
HelixLauncher- A home replacment option that offers customixable Home options. have up to 7 screens, adds 4 "buttons" to the app drawer slider on the home screen, double tap home screen to see min versions of all other screens. This is the best Home option out there.
HTC_IME-hi keryboard- My favorite Keyboard by far.
Swype- Yes, I'm jumping on the Swype bandwagon and trying it out. Takes a bit to get used to but is a very smart keyboard for predctions. Rarley gets my input wrong and is faser then tapping. I'm still on the fence about using it full time as my text input.
I'm now adding swype too.... its possibly the cleverest and definitely most innovative app ive seen on a phone in some time.
I started off with SlideIT and have been using Swype for a few days now..
It's definitely a much nicer looking UI... but I reckon that SlideIT is actually more acurate, quicker and easier to manage??....
SyncMyPix - a pretty good app to add the picture from your facebookcontacts to your phone contacts!
I found that weather and toggle seemed to be sucking juice out of my battery... what's your battery life like?

You most likely have the app checking for weather updates too often, set it to something like 6 hours (how quick does weather really change).

More widgets and home screens?

I am running virtuous 2.0 (sense based) on the inc and find the stock android and sense calendar, mail, messages etc widgets to be either too small to be useful (android) or too big (sense). Any suggestions on where I can get better widgets from? Just moved from an iphone and my ideal widget would be something like lockinfo that u can install from cydia after jailbreaking it. Basically like a landing page which combines weather, calendar, text messages, mail, missed calls, voice mails, tasks, twitter, rss feeds etc in 1 scrollable screen. Then the rest of the home screens can be used for frequently used apps and other widgets.
Finally, how do I get more home screens than just 7. I certainly can use more. With these big widgets, I have to go to the unsorted app folder to find something. Painful.

Well, I figured out at least some of this on my own. For anybody who is in the same position as me, I would recommend Apps Organizer and Multicon. Between them at least I can squeeze in more apps into the home screens. Still not able to find any info on how to get more home screens than 7 though...

I'm not entirely sure you can get more than 7. All the launchers, themes i've seen use 3,5, or 7 screens

Thanks. That's what i am finding too. Perhaps one of the custom roms can incorporate user set number of home screens?

Scrollable Facebook or Twitter Widgets

Are there any of these that operate similar to the Launcher Pro scrollable widgets? Unfortunately, I can't get LP to work on Honeycomb. Looking for something free preferably, especially since I already paid for LP...
Colorize Widget will do Facebook and Twitter.
Facez is a Facebook only widget.
Both are scrollable.
Check out this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966333
But do take note that Colorize Widget does not work with LP.
Look into pure messenger widget. Ive been using it for several days and like it pretty well, only downside is its about $2
So far id say its worth it

Can you have separate widgets for Facebook and Twitter, or is it only one widget that moves between FB/Twitter/Gmail/etc?
Does the widget have scrollable messages?
Just checked and yes you can make multiple Widgets and seperate them

+1 for Pure Messenger. It's pretty great.

Use Plume for Twitter. IMO, its great, and scrollable.

Same here.
I'm on the hunt too.
PowerTutor at hand, I found Colorize Widgets to be a battery killer.
Right now, the best solution I found to have good graphics and good battery life is... Pulse! Setting ONLY the Facebook feeds, now included by default.
Note that, the more feeds you set in there, the more battery usage increases in a crazy way.
Comparison, both 30 minutes refresh interval, screen off all the time, 1h30mins:
- Colorize Widgets : 19,4 J
- Pulse (only facebook-friend's-posts & links): 8 J
Another good battery usage solution was to use an RSS widget and setting my Facebook-friend's-posts as a feed directly. Unfortunately, no images were shown (probably guilt is the RSS reader isself).
Question: does Pure Messenger show friends photos on the widget ?

[Q] Like HTC Sense Widgets?

I am looking for Agenda/Calender and Bookmark widgets like the ones on HTC Sense. I have tryed Launcher Pro Plus widgets but I don't want to use LP on my TF. I have also tryed Pure Grid Calendar widget w/Sense skin but it is buggy and isn't scrollable on my TF..The Calender n Bookmark widget on the TF are small and pathetic.
If anyone can recommend a good Agenda/Calender and Bookmark widget that is scrollable and works as smooth as the Sense or LP ones please let me know! Thanks
I'm quite a fan of touch calendar - the paid version has the widgets that you can set to display x number of upcoming/past weeks in a given widget size. It's not scrollable directly from the widget, but you can specify clicking on the widget to either add a new event or see the full calendar. The pinch zoom on the calendar app itself is very nice, and I've found it superior to agenda-type views. You can try the app itself out for free, then decide if you want to pay for it to get the widget.
I don't use a bookmark widget, but live bookmarks is supposed to be pretty good and HTC like (note, it's a live folder, not a widget)

I will give those a try, thank you for your suggestions...Greatly Appreciated!
I don't know of any widgets to do this, but I suggest not buying anything. 3.1 has support for re-sizable widgets, should be pushed out in June.

Looking forward to that update for sure, wish they would also add the option of removing/renaming App shortcut names leaving just the icon on your homepage like LP.

Lockscreen Weather?

After playing with the Sensation and Sense for a couple days now? The ability to run weather on my lockscreen has literally just blown me away. I don't really care about the prettiest app to do it but in your experience? What's the most reliable lockscreen weather app?
Widgetlocker + your favorite Weather widget
I use WidgetLocker and add Fancy Widgets and/or Beautiful Widgets. Love the options available between those.
Thanks for the suggestions. I've been playing with both for the last couple days. Anything else that puts the weather on the lockscreen?
I like GOTO lockscreen. It's visually impressive (though weather is certainly not the focus of it's visuals and is only a small part) and has practical uses like quickly jumping to phone, SMS, gmail, being able to set phone silent or vibrate, and music lockscreen controls (though this only works with stock music players), weather, battery, phone owner's name on lockscreen.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.innowebtech.g0t0&feature=search_result
Still not satisfied with all of these choices. Anything else out there?
I use go laucher and go weather, but widget weather of HTC is the one!
is there a way to turn off the animation that comes on after the unlock of a phone?
