im giving this a shot before i make my final turn ok choosing what launcher i like best
with adw how do i make it scroll from up and down instead of side to side ?
and how do i add more icons to the dock
tyvm for any and all help
go to the adwlauncher under settings and its pretty self explanitory it gives options for drawer settings and homescreen
uncheck galaxy s style scrolling in drawer settings and enable dockbar under ui prefs
and i think u swipe up or down on the launcher to bring up dock and just drag and drop i think
ok Dockbar is checked but i still cant add more then 2 icons to the bar sorry
just drag the icons from ur homescreen to the dock
when at home screen place ur finger on the middle dots launcher icon then swipe up
then just drag icons on the dock then just swipe down with ur finger on the dock to bring the main launcher back

i've noticed in a lot of homescreen shots that some of them have the notification area hidden. i haven't been able to find out how to accomplish this. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.
This is usually done through a home replacement, like ADW or Launcherpro. There's an option in settings. With ADW & ADW Ex, you can set your swipe up or down gesture to show/hide the notifications. In LauncherPro you can make a gesture on a dock icon to do the same.

awesome! thanks (i hit your thanks button). i found it after your direction in the preference section in launcherpro.
No problem. Put a shortcut to it via gesture on one of your dock icons so you can toggle it or expand the notifications when you need to so you don't miss anything.
Glad I could help
Hi
I have the paid version of ADW Ex 1.3.3.1 and after being inspired by the many homescreens of Transformer, tried mine and has problems:
1) I know there is a hidden dock but I cannot get it to show even after ticking show hidden dock in settings.
2) When I try to keep a widge to the sides of screen it goes to the next screen and does not stay there. I have seen screenshots of users with icons on either sides. I did change the rows and columns under UI to 10 and 10. Still no joy.
Any help appreciated.
This is how you get the icons on the edge of the screen
Heres everyones chance for payback
I had ADW setup last night and at some point I was unable to use the left and right 1/2" of the screen for widget placement. I can with Launcher pro but it doesnt have some features I want. (ADW has a widget for selecting a specific homescreen).
What setting did I change to lose the real estate on the left and right part of the screen. This is in landscape BTW, I don't use portrait much.
I have searched so much that I now hate the 60 seconds between searches rule
Please help this dumbass frog in his quest and I will take all smartass comments with humor. Thank you in advance.
I quit looking and found the answer. Thanks SwiftLegend

for the hidden dock, I know its in the UI settings somewhere.
Also you can long press anywhere on the screens and select launcher actions, and then put an icon on the screen that would make the hidden dock, appear and reappear.....their is also a tutorial on how to make the icon transparent.
go to the themes and apps section of the forum and read page 1 of the hubs layout thread on the front page
Thank'd.
Would you know how to make the Dock appear on either sides instead of one below? Does not make much sense to get an icon column for loosing a dock.

Go into ADW settings and set one of the swipe actions to reveal the hidden bar. Its the easiest way I've found

It's either one or the other. The dock takes up a whole column so you can't have both. If that is what you mean.
If you want the dock to be on the side, you have to use the main one which will then make the big gap on the left of the screen. If you really want it, try VLT Launcher (It's either VLT or VTL) You can have a dock on either side and on the top or bottom. It is built using ADW source code, so it has most, if not all the same settings/features.
Easiest way to turn on and off the secondary dockbar ("hidden dock") you can either use a icon: Long press on Home Screen > Launcher Actions > Hide/Show Dockbar or set it to a swipe action: ADWSettings > General Behavior > Gestures. Mine is set to a swipe down to open/close, swipe up to open/close app drawer.
Also, like previously said, check out the Hub's layout thread. There's a lot of info on manipulating ADW in there, some of it from yours truly . Just gotta look a little.
Thank'd all of you.
I do not know which settings but trying all that was posted here has made the sides usable and Dock still available.
I did try VTL and it was good ,but was too laggy and looked too big(reslution issue?).Anyways happy with ADW. launcher Pro also seems to be good.
Hi there,
as the title said, I'm looking for a launcher which give the option to use 5x4 icon grid in home.
I'm using GoLauncherEX now, and it's possibile to set that particular icon grid setup, but then the label of the icon didn't resize and they overlap if they're too long.
On the other hand, in the app drawer, I set the 5x4 grid and everything's fine, even the label are resized....
Thanks for help :good:
Got it!
It was some times since I tried that on my phone. With last update of GoLauncherEX they put in the option "resize icon" and now I can use my beloved 5x4 grid in home with no problem

INITIAL EDIT:
Can you please change the app icon. It just #+?*s. Initial impressions are great. The flat interface got me. As your launcher is based on miui and flat interface, make a minimal flat icon

THANKS IS NOT SOMETHING TO SAVE, IT'S SOMETHING TO GIVE OUT
Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to put more then 5 apps on the bottom of the screen in the app bar? Im currently exploring nova launcher and its working well but I wanna put less apps on the home screen and hopefully put more in the bar at the bottom and maybe if there is something out there that'll let me put a lot of apps in the bar and use it to like scroll through the apps I put in there.
Thank you
You can change the dock to accept up to 7 icons with Nova Launcher
Other than that, create folders on the dock and add shortcuts to each of those would give you unlimited dock icons
Or look for an app in the play store that has some sort of side or bottom bar you can add to like this
